I needed something to heal my cracked skin on my hands since my go-to lotion wasn't cutting it this winter. After searching the drugstore aisles and looking at the ingredient lists for each lotion, I settled on this one. At first, I thought it was wayyyy too greasy as I rubbed it into my hands. But, after using it for three days straight, I see a dramatic difference in the way the skin on my hands feel. Sure, the palms are still a bit greasy, but the back of my hands look and feel much softer now. As a body lotion, it works wonderfully well. My husband even likes the scent! However, for summer, I can see this lotion being too greasy and will probably switch back to 100% Pure and aloe vera.

Update: been using is all over my body now, but I still prefer it on my hands and arms. It really helps soften my skin and now that I'm used to it, I don't notice that greasy feeling that I had before. Awesome awesome stuff for the colder drier months!

This is my favorite lotion of all time. I use the maximum formula though..my skin's super dry. This stuff soaks right into your skin and never leaves any sort of greasiness. I use this after shaving combined with tea tree oil and it helps incredibly with irritation and razor burn, dryness, etc. I also didn't love the smell when I bought it but I really like it now. It's hard to describe it's kind of a flowery earthy scent. love that the bottle is huge so it lasts me a good two months or so which isn't bad since I don't even have to moisturize at night with this stuff. I get mine at Target usually for around 20 bucks which is kinda steep but it's really worth it.

I can't get over how weird this smells! It stinks to me. Idk how to describe what this smells like. I tried the unscented one and it smells very similar to this one. Too bad I bought the huge bottle too w/ the pump. I'm only using this before I go to bed at night till I finish it but I dont use it in the morning before I leave to go out or go to work or school. This does a decent job moisturizing but it doesn't stay for long. I prefer shea moisture coconut & hibiscus lotion. Smells yummy and is organic.

The Fragrance-Free lotion is the one that I use b/c I am picky about scents. I love that this is like a basic body lotion, but instead of something bland like Curel or Jergens, its loaded with so many great antioxidants! Plus, its natural without any Parabens etc, so its a perfect lotion. Best part, my legs don't ever itch...anymore!

At first I liked this, and then hadn't bought a new bottle in awhile but finally did. Maybe something changed?!?! But now, my skin is dry after an hour or two AND I get a painful rash and red skin from this. I just threw the bottle out. I see a lot of people like it, so great for them. But for me, this was such a waste! Also, I saw on vitacost reviews and a few other websites, that people used to use this with great success like me, but something changed about the formula and they are now having bad reactions to it. So it is not just me!

I've been using Alba Bontanica lotions for years. The only place I wouldn't recommend putting this lotion is on your face because face moisturizer is better for that. Maximum Dry Skin Formula is the best one for me but I will purchase their Original Body Lotion when the store is out or does not have the Maximum Dry Skin Formula.

the smell is too much!!! After one use, I have given up. The overpowering smell makes my head swirl. I had such high hopes and was disappointed. However, I would try the unscented version if I find it as the lotion did seem like a good product.

Wonderful body lotion! I've been using the unscented version for a few years and I can't rave enough about it. Obviously others can't either. My skin glows, feels super soft, and my occasionally bumps and bruises seem to heal faster. Considering that so many people have written great reviews, I think the quickest thing to do would be to list the reasons I keep using it:
Light, whipped texture
Soaks right into the skin
Lacks irritating ingredients (fragrance, synthetic dyes, mineral oil)
Moisturizes all day
Cruelty free
I follow up with my sunscreen on the parts of me that are going to be exposed that day, and I'm protected, hydrated, and soft. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it's not enough moisture for me at night. I wash twice a day. When I wake up and go to bed, and I always follow up with lotion. I eventually found Trader Joe's Midsummer Night's Cream, which I use at night, while this is my morning lotion. It's been a staple for a while, and as long as it keeps doing it's job as good as ever, it's going to stay that way. By the way, if you get the opportunity, get the gallon size. If anyone out there is like me, I drink up body lotions like water. I could easily go through 2 gallons a year. But the best part is that the price is already cheap. For the price of a gallon, they practically give it away. Definitely recommended.

This is for the "scented" version.
Sorry, its not light to me. I put some on after my shower and its been over an hour and I can still smell the overly sweet gardenia scent. I like everything else about this product so I will repurchase again in UNscented.

I bought this in the unscented version. It is the perfect summer lotion minus the spf. Very light and penetrated very quickly. It is expensive for me as I have to get it imported to NZ from the States but I will continue to buy as you just can't get anything like it here!

This is one of two lotions that I reach for when I'm in dire need for moisture. (Vaseline's 3 layer one being the second)
You can find it at Walmart (I was surprised!), but I bought it at Whole Foods for nearly the same $15. I have many lotions, and I categorize them into two: moisture and scent. This nearly tops the moisture list, and I would never want to be without it. I prefer Mi Voga's acai lotion (also, organic) to this in general, as this one hardly smells of anything and isn't a luxury product, just a very practical necessity. For that, it is a winner.

This lotion performs amazingly well. I don't necessarily need a body lotion all the time, but most of the year 'round, I do need a lotion for my hands.

This lotion fits the bill perfectly for me.
I can find it easily (it was a surprise that I found it at my grocery store, of all places!)
It doesn't have an overbearing or funky smell (it's a light, clean fragrance that fades)
It does what it's supposed to do: moisturize dry skin and helps protect from further drying out
Soaks right in, good consistency
Awesome pump bottle
No harsh chemically ingredients
No animal testing
Doesn't burn, even when my hands resemble the Sahara!
Doesn't cost me a small fortune, either! Under $15 for a bottle, even at full price. I got mine on sale for about $10.

My only very small quibble is that it doesn't sink in quite as fast on the palm side of my hands, so it feels a little odd to to try and do anything with your hands right after applying, but either wipe off excess or wait a few minutes, and you're good to go!

(I tried the "original scent" version.)

I will come back to this for sure! :)

This is my HG for the summer months here in California. I have very very sensitive skin and this does not give me a rash or make me red as all other lotions tend to. I also have KP and as anyone with KP will tell you, finding a good lotion is critical in controling all those little bumps. This lotion does a good job in that.
One thing, I used this on my face once and got several big pimples, so this is a HG body lotion only.
They also make this in fragrance free if you don't like the girly smell. :)

I permanently switched to this and haven't used anything else in years, so I think it's time to write a review.

I have very sensitive skin that tends to be dry and itchy. This lotion moisturizes and soothes the way no other lotion does. When I put it on my legs after shaving it doesn't burn at all, it just calms the irritation.
My skin drinks it up right away and feels hydrated from *within* rather than just on the surface. My skin is SOOO soft thanks to this product. Even places that are normally very scaley and rough, like elbows, will feel like silk after you use this on 'em. I love that they offer an unscented version as well as a scented version. I've used them both and they deliver the same results. It is suitable year-round. Light enough for summer but rich enough for winter.

Two negative points:
1.) It's hard to find. I've searched my area and the only places near me that have it are Target and Whole Foods. By "near" I mean a 30 minute drive. I've resorted to ordering it online by the gallon, and putting it into my own pump dispenser bottles.
2.) It's expensive, at least for my budget. But i'm willing to shell out because it's soooo worth it. .

I love this lotion. I tried to find a drugstore product that would be comparable, but none did. I have come to the conclusion that this is the best lotion available. After showering I slather this on and it soaks in very fast and leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, and breathable (unlike some lotions that leave a thick barrier on the skin). I highly recommend this lotion for those who want lovely moisturized skin.

really like Alba products because they target people who are obsessing over all natural products...aka: me! Anyway, after reading million of reviews on their original unscented body lotion, I had to buy it. I am such a sucker for reviews online even though they are probably from the people in the company...but you never know!

I am REALLY trying to like this lotion but I think it made me itch on my neck. I don't think it was a good idea to put on my neck or face because I started to itch after I used it. I am not sure if it was just because it was a time when I was very stressed out and maybe my skin was extra irritated but if it really was the lotion than this is a no-no for people who have skin issues. If it were to have worked correctly, it would have just glided on my skin and I would have carried on my merry way waiting to see how long my skin stayed moisturized.

I don't think I had time to see how long my skin stayed moisturized because I think I was scratching away 5 minutes later..

HOWEVER.....I did buy this and the Burt's Bees the same time, and you know, I like to mix and match lotions and so, that might have been the problemo. Otherwise, this lotion is going to just be for zee arms and the legs and nothing above the shoulders!

Until my skin is calmed down (aka: my life has calmed down) I will try this on my neck. Also the lotion has a different consistency than Cetaphil lotion, so I have to get used to that also.

Trust me, I AM trying to like this!!

I am switching permanently to this lotion because of the natural ingredients and effectiveness in moisturizing and relieving itchiness. Here's a summary of the points that are important to me in a lotion..

Fragrance: Very light, no noticeable fragrance. A very clean lotion smell and not at all overpowering

Absorption: Absorbs in a few minutes for me. Not greasy at all. The consistency is medium -- not runny and not thick.

Moisturizing: Every time I use this before I go to sleep, I wake up with the softest skin ever. My legs also haven't been itchy anymore since using this.

Price: I bought a huge 32oz bottle of this with a pump at ediblenature.com for $14. I noticed they have it on amazon for cheaper and will buy it there next time

Ingredients: paraben-free and does not use animal testing or ingredients.

Love this stuff and love that it comes in a pump bottle.

Because I'm getting older, I'm a diabetic so I have drier skin, especially in the winter. I have found my HG body moisturizer. I purchased this a few months ago and I'm in love with this product. Its so soft, its not greasey, my skin just drinks it up, and it smells heavenly. I wish they had a body spray in this scent. Softly floral with just a hint of something spicey. But not overly scented, it doesn't interfere with your perfume. If you're searching for a good body lotion then try this.
