I havent seen this perfume for ages, but i remember i did buy it a few years ago.Very unusual smell.First i liked it but it just didnt feel right on my skin , so i gave it to my sister.Well it worked wonderful with her.Everybody is complementing her and asking what is she wearing.I guess you must have the right body chemistry to wear Alchimie, but than it smells unique and wonderful

This is a wonderful oriental perfume that smells a little like handsoap (but a very nice smelling handsoap that is). Very expensive, beautiful bottle. Might but it again sometime. Love this

Alchimie is nothing fantastic...well, for me at least. I ordered this unsniffed (when will I learn??)and was kind of disappointed. It's described as a floriental, but to me, it is really more of a fruity floral kind of fragrance. I don't get the vanilla, the tonka nor the sandal listed...or maybe just a teeny tiny bit. The bottle, however, is really beautiful, but the fragrance itself does nothing to me .
I must say I don't like fruity florals, but for those of you who like that kind, you should try it, maybe it'll work for you. It's nice in this category, I get peach, a touch of plum mixed with roses and a little jasmine....

It's a pretty scent but very "perfumey" and somewhat sharp. Also, believe it or not, it disappears fast on me. Must be my dry skin. :-(

Rochas's Alchimie is like a musical composition in three movements. The first movement, the Allegretto, is fruity and green with notes of grapefruit, bergamot, and black currant bud, and just when I'm not sure what this first movement will do, it's finished and the second movement begins. Andante. This movement becomes very sweet. Reminds me a little of Lolita Lempicka at this stage, only whereas LL becomes brassy and cheap on me, Alchimie stays sweet and candyish, almost coy and playful. But don't be deceived. As the drydown continues, and the third movement begins, the fragrance segues into the most exciting and sensual part: the lovely finale. It's warm, and spicy, and woodsy with a sweet vanillic backdrop. Very, very nice. And long lasting, too. A little goes a long way with this one. The bottle is a cross between a Cinderella pumpkin-coach and an "I Dream of Jeannie" bottle. Lovely to look at, lovely to wear. Alchimie de Rochas is truly a fragrance which transforms itself on the wearer's skin, just as its name promises.

Alchimie is the only fragrance I wear - and not for lack of trying. I spent a summer within walking distance of 2 Sephoras (in France) and made it my mission to find a perfume I could wear - even with my allergies. Alchimie was love at first sniff, from top note to drydown. It goes very well with my body chemistry. Yum!

It's a very yummy scent, reminds me always some sort of exotic dessert or candies. I went twice to sniff & try it on at the store, haven't bought yet. Maybe I'll switch from my Tresor to this in future. Then Updating.

I get tangy fruit in this one; if there's vanilla, it's not very creamy on me. It reminds me alot of Champs-Elysees by Guerlain. Sour-fruity. I definately smell the grapefruit here on a base of sandalwood. Not horrible, but I definately could see how this sharp smell could offend non-perfume lovers.

This falls into what I like to call my "creamsicle/dreamsicle" fragrance category and everytime I say that, it's because it has two qualities I don't care for: overt fruity (in this case, orange) sweetness and serious vanilla undertones. I wanted to like this so badly based on the bottle, which in the version I tried, was a limited edition brushed crystal flacon which lies on its side. Beautiful indeed and made me think a bit of Chaos' icicle bottle. The first spray was not bad, bearable for me, but as it dried it got more and more sweet and vanillic. I couldn't take it anymore. It went to a good home!

Alchimie ain't no witch's brew but a most wearable, nice and "easy", very pleasant perfume: it's fruity with vanilla base. Its most remarkable is that adorable Cinderella pumpkin bottle, though...

A pretty, light fruity-floral. Fruits with orangeflesh and mild florals, the combination is utterly non-threatening...probably hard to hate a scent like this, it crosses most boundaries like a nicely dressed, overly polite girl. Wish the fragrance had as much personality as the very cool bottle. The vanilla-ish base is evident on the drydown as Alchimie loses its happy go lucky lightness and tones down, becoming a bit more serious, but still fruity (not literal fruit, but a "perfume version of" fruit).

This is one of my best friends' signature scent (Kisses for you Guilaine), and, as it reminds me her, it only can be a fantastic fragrance (I'm kidding :-D!!). Top notes of bergamot, plum and peach, with middle notes of heliotrope, lily of the valley, jasmine and rose, on a base of sandal, musk and vanilla. Lovely, sweet, young (but not girly), without that "woody" and horrible dry down that we can find in many fragrances of the "floral-oriental"'s family (like "Burberry", that stars beautifully, but has the "woody" dry down that I don't like) . The Arabian-nights bottle is simply gorgeous. As Draconaria has said, it's great for evenings, but also for daywear (an also for office wear).
To a delicate (but with a strong personality) and elegant young woman (like my friend, Guilaine :-D ). A must try!!

I had received this in a swap from a very very sweet lady. It is definitely sweet, orangey-peachy with oriental notes in it as well. So far, I like it...but I have to wear it more often to know for sure. It's very unique to me, although I did get a sense of Lancome Tresor during the first minute of me wearing this. All in all, a very pleasant scent that you can pretty much wear to any occasion.

It's a warm, fruity fragrance. Worth a try if you like fruity fragrances. It would be great in colder weather. Nice but I wasn't bowled over by it the same way I am with Burberry - I like a little more punch and complexity to my scents.

I was immediately attracted to the lovely bottle and suprised that the juice inside is just as lovely. It has a very soft vanilla base which permeates the tangy citrus and sweet jasmine. I never feel like I am wearing Alchimie... I feel like Alchimie is wearing me!

I'm rather picky when it comes to fragrances, but this one...the more I sniff, the more I like it! Starting with the bottle - the glass base looks like a pumpkin, which is adorable, with a cap that's supposed to resemble an eternal flame. The fragrance itself - very warm, sensual, feminine, sweet, with just the right hint of floral. Alchimie reminds me a lot of J'adore; if you like the latter, be sure to sniff out this perfume!

Bad, bad experience for me. Fifteen minutes after I put it on, Mr. kate8 and I said simultaneously: "Wow, Rochas makes some really good fragrances, but when they flop, they SUCK!" It was heavily, cloyingly sweet orange---like a fake orange pancake syrup made with that orange-scented floor cleaner, mixed with sugared rum and heavy white flowers (also decaying). I was desperate to take it off after 2-1/2 hours, but it wouldn't come off, when I scrubbed. Top Note: Bergamot, grapefruit, blackcurrant
Middle Note: Jasmine, violet passiflora, honeyed acacia petals
Base Note: Vanilla, tonka bean

The saddest part is that I tested Oyedo---another citrus fragrance (yuzu)---right after this, and it just emphasized how bad Alchimie had been on me.

I too was pleasantly surprised by this one! Received from a wonderful swapper unsniffed, but it's definitely one of the nicest scents I own now! I do get a bit of the vanilla on drydown, myself, but it is primarily plum and woody. The fruit isn't too "young" or "girly" - just a nice, sophisticated combination, adding a sweet note that is not overwhelmingly so. The bottle is just gorgeous, also - looks like one of those beautiful old hand-blown flacons. Staying power could be a bit better - I'm hunting around for something to layer this with that will both make it last longer and further enhance its deliciousness!
