Although I really enjoy the smell of this shower gel, I do not think I would repurchase this product. The scent is really spicy and fresh and lasts even after you step out of the shower. However, you need to use a lot of this product if you want to feel clean because it does not really lather well. This would not be such a problem if it came in bigger packaging, but the quantity of product itself is pretty small (100 ml) so that you feel like you are wasting it. I bought it in a set with the body cream and the perfume, which made it a better deal, but I feel that for so little product (considering how much you need to use each time), the shower gel is just too expensive.

i got this as part of a gift set. the gel actually stung a bit when i used it below. maybe i should have known better. after that i didn't use it there and it was fine. to me it does smell like ginger and it's a nice clean scent. i can't speak to the cost but i doubt i'd buy it as people are saying it's expensive and there are a lot of nice reasonably priced cleansers with good ingredients on the market.

I'm giving it a 5 based on it's greener ingredient list and wonderful scent. The ginger and citrus is not overpowering, but light and alluring. Such a warm, cozy yet uplifting fragrance.

I have purchased items from Origin's ginger line as a treat to myself here and there for well over 13 years. This body wash isn't the most moisturizing, however whenever I take a shower with this on a cold winter day, it changes my mood immediately. That to me is priceless. I love ginger scents, but nothing comes close to the Origins version.

Bought this against my better judgetrment. It does not really lather much - I put it on a washcloth as the instructions stated on the bottle - but there was little lather or much of anything though the ginger scent was strong. ( I have a water softener so hard water is not a problem here ) The tablet soap is much better and better value for money too .

As mentioned, this product does not lather at all! You literally have to use a ton for a lather. I found that for my skin, this product is also very drying. I was very disappointed. The only thing good about this product is the scent. It drives me crazy.

Very expensive and given to me by my dear girlfriend at Christmas. I love the aroma which, as someone else mentioned, is more lime/bergamot than ginger. I use one of those scrunchy things to apply it and it foams like crazy. I wouldn't buy it myself as it is so expensive.

I feel very clean and really relaxed and fresh when I use this. My skin really loves it, so soft and lovely! Plus, when I open the bathroom door the scent travels down the hallway and my husband always loves it. Ginger is very pampering, healing, calming and is an aphrodisiac hooray! ha! ha! Just love this, and have been a huge huge Origins fan for many years! Never met an Origins product I didnt like and especially the bath products! YUM!

I was very disappointed in this. I like the smell fine, but as previous reviewers have mentioned there is hardly any lather! You seriously go through a ton of this just for one shower. There are much better shower gels out there- I'll just stick with the other Origins ginger scented products to get my ginger fill rather than buy this again.

This is a nice body wash, and not drying. However, it only smells faintly of ginger. I find that this smells very plasticky. I love the Ginger Essence, but this smells nothing like it.

I still love the scent of this (mine was fairly similar to the souffle), but it doesn't stay after you get out of the shower. I wouldn't repurchase.

Don't buy it. Seriously. The scent is not gingery at all, it does not stay on the skin after your shower, it gives you a hard time to open it, it produces almost no lather and it's just a very basic body wash, only way to expensive.

Here are more details:

It does not smell like ginger. Still, it smells kind of nice, but rather like lime or bergamot.
Unlike a body wash from Sephora which I use now, the scent does not stay on the skin after your shower. I think, most women just use this product because of the scent, but what's the use of any ginger scent if it's gone once you rince the body wash? At the momemt, I use Triple Layer Cake Hair & Body Wash by Sephora, and that scent stays on the skin.

Often, I found it difficult to open the bottle. The cap just goes off kind of heavy.

There is almost no lather at all. From my experience, you have to add a little bit of water and rub it in your palms for lather to be created. I found that I also you need a lot of the body wash for one shower, so it's not really lasting long.

It's really expensive. $21 for only 8.5 oz (250 ml). In my opinion, it lasts about 6 weeks. So you'd have to buy one every 1.5 months, that's 8 body washs a year which sums up to $168 annually. That would be you a really decent dinner with your significant other.

I think this is just a average, ordinary product with nothing special to it. Since I was really not satisfied, I just returned it.

Ginger Burst Savory Body Wash is an average product at best - it is not extraordinary in its formulation, and cleanses as any body wash typically would. If you happen to love the scent as I do, instead invest in the Ginger Souflee and pass this body wash by. The scent does not linger on the skin at all, and literally flows down the drain. Not worth the high price tag.

I like the scent of this shower gel although it is definitely not a pure ginger smell- it has sour-citrusy and herbal notes that make a rather unusual, although not unpleasant, combination. I'd prefer a straight ginger scent, though, so this is not a huge winner for me. However, it's one of the body washes I've tried where the scent actually lingers on my skin afterwards. So if you like the scent, it's a good investment in that regard.

A nice complement if you like the fragrane of Origins Ginger Souffle. This version is more of a tart citrus than mellow ginger, very suitable as body wash. The consistency is thick and creamy, it lathers up very well and washes off nicely, leaving the skin lightly scented (with stress on LIGHTLY). Unless you layer with some other products afterwards, it will dissipate quickly.

The price is expensive for the quality of the product, which is nothing out of the ordinary. Origins surely knows how to market their product to women by appealing to their sense of smell.

I too like the souffle but there is not much to say about this except it smells of parsnips and eucalyptus.

I thought I would adore this like i do the ginger souffle -- but to me it seemed runny and didn't smell nearly as intense. An okay product, but nothing special.

I received this as a gift from a friend and I've tried using the bottle up but finally couldn't stand it any longer. It's not a bad body wash, I just can't stomach the ginger scent which is very strong. My hubby liked it so he got to inherit the rest of it :)

This is the rare product that I got a sample of and loved it enough to buy it. The scent *is* all that--citrusy yet spicy, but not too much of either. It's a great scent for summer or winter, IMHO. It lathers well and doesn't dry my skin out. I highly recommend it if you love the scent.
