I'd buy this product again if I had the money for it. I use this as my formal-event perfume (semi-formal onwards) since it reminds me of an old world smell without the grandmother feel. I'm not an expert so I I can't say what it's composed of, but it smells wonderful! It definitely increases my confidence when I go out.

I had to have a sample of this after reading all the positive reviews. But I'm disappointed. I must say, I'm at a loss for words in terms of describing this--Belle de Nuit really just smells "perfumey" to me. I can't even smell any individual or combined fragrance notes. It smells like alcohol mixed with something "pretty", but it's very generic. I think I've smelled at least three other fragrances that are less expensive, and smell nearly identical, for example, Sexy Little Things at Victoria's Secret.

Belle de Nuit is a strong, sexy and heavier floral, and very classic and traditional in that it is formulated like perfumes of the past, not the recent "fresh", sugary, green, ozone-y concoctions. It comes across as a floriental, and it reminds me very much of a lighter, whiter Tresor with subtle Musk-Amber basenotes. The top notes are very bright, white florals, and the opening is a heady, pretty bouquet that is fresh and not too sweet or cloying. I wish the opening would stay a little longer, as the heavier amber arrives too soon. I would say it makes for a great sexy, evening perfume, quite classic and sophisticated yet sultry, bold and feminine. Belle de Nuit is an elegant, smoldering seductress, never loud or vulgar.

I bought the parfum while on vacation in Paris. It's a very floral, light and intoxicating scent. Literally EVERY male that has smelled it on me has commented on it (even a super-aloof family friend who never says anything). To me it smells heavenly!!! I love it.

Wow, what a lovely white flower, bright fragrance!
Of course you must be a flower frag lover to appreciate that.
It is similar to Tuberose Gardenia and Cabotine.
It's intense, and after a fresh initial blast, it turn into creamy soft, feminine frag.
Heady tuberose, buttery gardenia , jasmine. Some Lily. Some green. A musk dtrydown. A little masterpiece.
I smell it and it evokes the color white, to me.
I'd see it perfect for a bride's fragrance.
Young, feminine, classic. A little bit like a woman in the Fifties...

This is my mom's HG scent and I love it! She bought it in Grasse and it is the most beautiful scent I have smelled in years. A true angel, beauty scent. Very unique and is a niche market product, which feels nice to own. Usually I do not favor any fruity or flowery scents, but this is a major exception. Perhaps due to the fact that the flowers and fruits are highlighted with musk, which makes this a warm arabian-like smell. It also has a beautiful gold bottle package. This is a very mature, somewhat noble fragrance for self-sufficient women. And although this is quite pricey, it is worth all the money. This is probably the same for all the Fragonard scents since they're all best quality.

I'd love it, if only I could smell it. This and Bois des Iles do the same things on me. It must be the schwarmy California weather. It smells fantastic. Sweet and delicate without the sugar and powder smells I'm sick of. It is currently a bedtime fragrance. A few drops give me sweet dreams.

This is a favourite of my husband. He loves this scent and I try to wear it on special occasions so he does not tire of it, although it is cheap enough to wear all the time.

Just got this direclty from Fragonard. Wonderful, can't stop smelling myself. I love Carnal Flower and this is a nice change, not as intense. I now have two French favs!

I am testing a sample of Vintage so I am not sure how close this smells to the current formulation but it's gorgeous. It is verrrrrrrry similar to one of my holiest of holy grails, MPG Or des Indes except with a fruitier dry down. It is spicy and aromatic in a perfumey, aldehyde kind of way. Elegant, elegant, elegant. I love it and would feel truly like a woman wearing it. A gem of gems.

Bought 2 oz. parfum of this on my honeymoon at the Boutique itself for 50 Euros. Marvelous! I do love this. Ladies this is wonderful... I close my eyes and *swoon*... UPDATE: 11/29/05- I sprayed this bottle to start celebrating my six month anniversary (I ran out of my wedding day fragrance of D&G "light blue") and I can not keep my nose away from my wrists. The scent is a million times better since I last smelled it in France. I have been sniffing the bottle since the honeymoon ever since and have been waiting for a special occasion to "open" the bottle!

I got this almost 2 years ago from the factory in France so it's in a gold bottle. It is the most "perfume" perfume I have ever used! Its highly concentrated so a little a your pulse points is enough. It lasts forever and smells nice and feminine-not to floral.

My son purchased this for me on a trip to France. It is unique from anything I have ever tried. The dry down is a delicious aroma of flowers mixed with fruit. I absolutely love it!

Mirabilis, violet, geranium and rose heightened with a top fruity note of plum and a base of musk. It is packaged in a beautiful gold bottle and wrapped in an embroidered pouch. I do agree with the reviewer below that the name is a bit deceiving, but how I love this fragrance! I was extremely pleased with this one, even after my initial dissapointment of it not being a warm spicy oriental. I definitely plan to re-purchase after I run out!

I had great hopes for this fragrance, since I'm such a Fragonard fan. I first bought Belle de Nuit glycerin soap from the Provence Shop, and then purchased the perfume from the Fragonard website. I LOVED the soap, and I wanted to love the perfume the way I love Eau Fantasque. Belle de Nuit eau de toilette is much more subdued than the extremely clean scent that you get from the soap. Fragonard describes this scent as "magical as an Arabian night." To me, that conveys warm and spicy, which Belle de Nuit is definitely NOT. It is a very cool, green, almost cucumber-y scent. If you like cool fragrances that have a strong note of "clean", you probably would enjoy this. I will continue to use the soap, and I do like the fragrance, I just wish it was a bit stronger. It is just a little too subtle, but still very enjoyable if you like cool scents.
