I'm on the fence about this shade. It's certainly a beautiful plum which has the potential to create natural looking depth, but it's so hard to blend that I always end up looking like I have bruised eyes when I put it in the crease. I think this would be too dark for someone lighter than NC20. This is ultra matte in finish, and it's hard for the brush to pick up color and hard for it to blend out on the skin. Careful.

Blackberry is a matte shade that says "Oh am purple...am purple..yes I am...oh but am brown" XD

There's definitely visible purple in there, but just on the fence of brown.

The color is pretty deep and can be layered and looks best actually when it's layered heavily. I usually use this on my lids and then Sushi Flower+Texture in the crease.

Lasting power is quite good and great color payoff, just one lippie off cuz I have such a horrible time trying to blend it. No fallout, given you tap off the excess.

I don't think I'll be buying this again, it just didn't amaze me.

This is a very nice eyeshadow. I use with satin taupe when doing a smokey eye and it compliments it nicely. I have hazel eyes so this shade does suit me eye colour. It's a matte finish so does give more intense colour. I actually prefer matte finish now which I never thought I'd say. I think I need to expand my matte collection as I mainly have shimmer finish eyeshadows.

I'm not crazy about "Blackberry" I had expected something more purple. This one is a muted purple and not the purple color I prefer. However, since it's MAC the quality is pretty good. However, it could be a bit more pigmented. My other eye shadows from the brand are much more pigmented. I would not repurchase this color.

This is the perfect purple for green eyes, beautiful matte purple mauve, great as your midtone. Blends great with so many colors as well.

This is a great fall color. Since it doesn't have much sparkle to it, I use Naked Lunch as an undertone and layer this on the inner part of my eye. It creates a great shadow

I have brown eyes and supposedly purples go well with brown eyes so I highly suggest this shade since it's a bit darker than normal purple tones.

This shade looks gorgeous in the pot, but it isn't very pigmented. I have to use so much product, and then it's hard to blend. Blackberry is a nice shade if you want a very muted purple hue to your look, but it's not the right shade if you want obvious color. I'd recommend something like Sketch if you want more pigmentation and berry tones.

I've tried to like this shade, but no matter how I use it, It looks like I have a black eye. I don't like purple eyeshadow in general, but I decided to give it another try because Blackberry has a matte finish. It doesn't come off as pigmented unless you apply it wet. In general it looks better on darker skin tones.

I'm not a fan of MAC matte shadows, they always seem hard. The luster and shimmer are very soft and velvety, all I can say is "meh". Don't love it or hate it, it's fine.

To me, Blackberry is the Matte, glitter-less version of Trax. I like it, and its good for day-wear, but it is easily dupe-able and takes a little effort to build up. Needless to say, I swapped it b/c I like Trax better.

This eyeshadow brings out the green in my eyes like nothing else; they looks like a cat's. I like to wear it as an all over wash. I will admit that it definitely has some blending issues, but who cares when it makes me look this great!

This color is so versatile! Can be used as an accent with tan or cream, or can build up to a vibrant purple! Can be warm or intense shade. LOVE!

Blackberry is best described as a dark purple, matte shade. This is everything I wanted out of Sketch – it is a LOT easier to blend and much easier to work with than Sketch and gives you similar results. I like it for its versatility and how smoothly the formula molds to the skin. This is one that can be used for everyday in a neutral eye look, as it isn’t too strong for conservative environments. And it’s a lot of fun for evening looks!

Some of the ways I like wearing Blackberry ...
(for images of these looks and MANY more, you're welcome to visit my website at www.myeyeshadowconsultant.com):

- Satin Taupe on lid, Blackberry in crease
- Blackberry on lid, Da Bling in crease <---- so beautiful!
- Jest on lid, Blackberry in crease
- Blackberry on lid, Sushi Flower in crease
- Blackberry on lid, Quarry in crease
- Seedy Pearl on lid, Quarry in crease, Blackberry to define crease

I love Blackberry. A good quality matte long lasting versatile product. I use it on the outer v, as a liner to lift a neutral smokey eye, on the crease with a soft grey, or even as a wash. I find it creases as a wash pretty easily so make sure you use a good eye primer.

Its a kind of classy almost 80s berry toned aubergine, really great with fair skin and a neutral lip.

I have brownish hazelish greenish caramel coloured eyes - hard to describe and even harder to bring out the colour with e/s. Blackberry is one of the very few that can - it makes my eyes look green and bright.

Received this recently in a swap, and I was kinda unimpressed (by the shadow, not the swap lol). I was expecting something more plum coloured, but it came out rather brown. I have no idea why it is called Blackberry, because it certainly isnt the colour of one. Also, I really struggle with MACs matte e/s, they provide hardly any pigmentation, which I hate. Unimpressed with this one im afraid!

I'd been eyeballing Blackberry for quite a while, because it seemed like my kind of eyeshadow shade. The somewhat tepid reviews here made me hesitate, though, especially since I have to buy my MAC products online, sight unseen except for the photos on this site.

I recently took the plunge, though, and I'm very glad I did.

Blackberry is beautiful and unusual, a deep matte plummy purple, tempered by brown/taupe.

It's not intensely pigmented, but I don't find that to be a bad thing, with a shade this dark. In fact, I might have great difficulty wearing it at all on my fair skin if it were more intense. While it's true that Blackberry does not have a velvety smooth texture, like some matte shadows do, I find it to be just fine.

I expect to wear Blackberry softly applied in the crease with a 224 brush, with a light-to-medium taupe or gray on the lids, for a beautiful soft-but-special design to make my green eyes really POP! I haven't yet tried it with my beloved MAC Velour, but I'd expect it to look fabulous with that, since Blackberry is sort of like a darker version of Velour.

Blackberry exceeded my expectations; I'd happily buy it again.

This color is beautiful!!!! It's a dark brown/purpley color that goes great on the outer corner for those smoky looks. It's a great rich color that I used to make my eyes a purpley smoky color. It's lovely!!!

I don't know what the deal is with the reviews that say this has no color payoff. It must be the difference in skin color. I am very pale, and this is just lovely (thank you MUAers for the suggestions). I really like this shade, it is beautiful and perfect on my pale skin. I do also love that it's matte, and doesn't scream 'look at me'. Perhaps the folks who are unhappy with it have a darker/ tan skin tone...? If you are pale like me, I would almost guarantee you will like the results.

I have to agree with most of the reviews. I too, love this shadow. It really makes my blue eyes 'pop' when I wear it. I put this all over my lid, and then put shadowy lady in the crease, with a little bit of UD oil slick-love it! It's perfect for the office, or a night out! I think everyone should own this color, it's so versatile.
