I love this cream, litterally nothing else has worked for me! I have dry skin but also breakout very easily and this solved both aspects
It gives a very dewy look to your skin which is great for a dewy natural look even under your foundation but sometimes tricky to work with when you go out and don't want to look oily or for a photoshoot
Im also not a huge fan of pots of cream due to bacteria getting in
but really nothing else compares

For reference, my skin is incredibly dry. It's very clear but very dry. I bought this cream a few years ago on a whim and I've been a loyal user ever since. It's thick and rich-just what I like in a moisturizer. It imparts a nice glow and feels so good on. I use it day and night. I hear it's being discontinued? I truly hope this isn't the case.

I was looking for a rich cream for my super dry skin. This just isn't moisturising enough. I need a significant amount for even adequate moisture (I've had it a few weeks and already nearly half way through), but if I put it all on at once, it just sits on the top of my skin. So I have to put it on in 2-3 layers, if I do it this way it absorbs very well, leaving a kind of satin feel, but it is time-consuming. I've found Korres honey thyme cream much richer and hydrating than this.
UPDATE: I quite like this now my skin is more normal/combo. Changed to 4 stars. Not suitable for dry/dehydrated skin though.

I've just finished a tub of this. It's essentially Creme de Corps for the face. ie. a no-nonsense moisturiser that is unscented, soaks right in, plumps and leaves skin soft with a healthy satiny finish. Because it soaked into so easily, it didn't feel heavy at all and I felt like I was feeding my skin with moisturising goodness.

I have oily combo skin and this was my go-to moisturiser in winter. On especially dry days, I'd mix this with a few drops of rosehip oil. It didn't break me out or leave me with oil slick.

I bought this on sale from Strawberry Net. Whilst I was really happy with my purchase as it is a good product, I don't believe it's worth the rrp.

I am consistently unimpressed by Kiehls. This creme is another example. As with the previous reviews, this creme feels luxurious at first but never really gets to hydrating the deep layers. It just sort of sits on the skin and feels too slippy. Not to mention it gave me a couple breakouts, the yucky under-the-surface kind. I was also disappointed to learn one of the first ingredients in this creme is isopropyl palmitate (a known comedogenic) as well as methyl and propyl parabens. Lame. Kiehls masquerades as a fancy schmancy, botanical/natural line but their stuff is really just some oils with chemicals thrown in. Good thing I kept the receipt for this one!

This is my HG facial cream. Mind you, I have extremely dry skin and this seems to repair it everyday because I've noticed a huge a difference in the condition of my skin. I use this in the morning mixed in with the Eucerin sunblock for the face, and then a little more heavier at night. The cream does give an oily look on my face so I have to let it sink it before I apply makeup (in the daytime). Overall, great cream for very dry skin. The price is however, PRICY, but will def. repurchase this product in the biggest size. Works great for me even in the summer time.I would def. not recommend this for those with oily skin.

Lately I have been trying many creams and oils out in search for hydration and that *glow*. I was attracted to this because two of the main ingredients are squalane oil and sesame seed oil (this is used in Creme de la Mer). The texture is similar to butter and the smell doesn't really bother me. That said, it didn't really do anything for my dry skin: I woke up the next morning and there was nothing difference in the texure or even the hydration of my skin. I've used it for a few weeks, and it hasn't done anything. Onto the next one!

So this cream does smell horrible, disgusting even but it worked for a flaky winter days without casing too much irration of breakouts. Cant really say i love it, but it did the job

Somehow I thought its texture would be a lot thicker, as it was really very thick when I tested it in the store. Regardless, it's not a bad moisturiser, I didn't break out from it, and gave me enough moisture. That said I would have preferred something thicker for the dry winter months. It does remind me of Creme de Corps and also the Light Nourishing Eye Cream if anyone remembers it (I can't find it anymore).

Edited to add - I think this did break me out after all. My original rating was 4, now I've cut it down to 3. Perhaps my skin was not that dry to require this. It left my skin feeling comfortable, but 2 days later I started to break out.

I spent 5 days in San Antonio, TX for a business meeting and company project. Little did I know that Texas in the wintertime is unbearably dry and my MAC Studio Moisture Cream ceased to be at-all effective. I dropped by the Kiehls counter in Atlanta airport and consulted the clerks there about something that could get right on top of my boo-boo and immediately loved this product. It super saturates my skin with moisture and the consistency locks it in. Within a day or so, my skin was good as new. My only negative impression of this product is that it is prolongingly greasy on the skin until you give it a few hours to fully soak in. The fact that it's become my winter cure-all and that makeup sits really well on it more than compensates for this, however.

This is a very rich daytime daytime moisturizer for my dry and sensitive skin. This yellow cream comes in a jar, and for sanitary reasons I wish it came in a tube.

The smell of this cream is repulsive. No other cream has induced my gag reflex as much as this. And after 2 months of use, I am very disappointed with the results (or lack thereof) from this cream, which is suprising, considering I am a fan of much of the Keihl's line. This is way overpriced for it's performance; I can find moisturizers in a drugstore that work better than this and at 1/4 the cost. The bottom line here is that you can get better quality creams in this price range elsewhere, and for just a few dollars more get ones that work 100 times better.

Admittedly I haven't used this product in a while. I have been dreaming about it however.

I used to use this product when I played Water Polo. My skin would face all kinds of nasty sun exposure that would leave it dry, flaky, irritated, and sunburned.

I would have to go to work as a server afterward practice occasionally. I would put this product on my face and it prevented my sunburn, moisturized my intensly dried out skin, and left an overall glow whenever I used it.

I have combination skin and I am prone to clogged pores. I never broke out due to this product. Yes it is kind of wierd. And it doesn't smell like flowers. But it works great if you have dry/normal skin.

Also watch out for Kiehls, they have reduced the amounts of a lot of the quality ingredientes in their products since they were sold to L'Oreal. I stopped using the Ultra Facial Moisturizer for this reason.

For me, this is one of the big guns in my arsenal for combating dry skin. I don't use it in the summer when it's humid and my skin tends to produce its own oil, but as soon as the air becomes dry and the temperature drops I start using this at night. If I don't, my skin becomes uncomfortably tight and I get dry lines that make me look old. There are several other Kiehl's moisturizers that work well for me also. Creme D'Elegance Repairateur contains many different oils including olive, apricot, almond, avocado, the list goes on. The Kiehl's site claims that this moisturizer leaves no oily residue, but I disagree. My face looks like an oil slick when I use this, however, it never causes me any iritation or break-outs. In all the time I've used it (several years off and on) I've never experienced clogged pores, pimples or redness. I guess my skin isn't terribly sensitive like some of the other reviewers' seem to be. The scent/smell isn't terrible but it isn't particularly pleasant either. I don't notice any scent after I've applied it. In summary, this is a very reasonably priced, heavy-duty moisturizer that does not evaporate over night and leaves skin hydrated and "dewey" by morning. Not a bad investment.

I had to switch to a less expensive moisturizer for budget reasons (was using Creme de la Mer) and decided to try Kiehls because a friend raves about their products. I have dry, sensitive skin and this product made my skin inflamed and stung when I applied it. I had to return it asap because it was totaly irritating my skin so if you have sensitive skin, don't use this moisturizer

This is quite similar to Creme de Corps. It smells almost identical, I think it's the squalane. I would not repurchase because I was actually allergic to it, but I have very sensitive skin. It seems like a nice enough formulation for very dry skin, but only if you are NOT break-out prone.

I can't believe it! This is my second try with Kiehl's to try to find a winter moisturizer that will stop making my skin feel like it's going to crack and flake off.

I already returned one that broke me out and was way too oily. I exchanged it for this and now I have to return this one because my pores are clogged and I'm broken out yet again. It's not an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients -- it's just plain old heavy cream that's clogging my pores and making me break out in red spots all over my face.

I'm giving up on Kiehl's. I'd rather have kind of dry skin instead of red pimples all over my face.

i agree with the last reviewer that this doesn't moustrize well, it nourishes, it absorbs well even it looks thick but it does NOT HYDRATE my winter dry skin. Ýt seems the texture is full of lipids. It didn't dry out my skin but it didn't moisturize and didn't help the recovery of the flakiness on some parts of my face either. The Biotherm Aquasource for dry skin worked wonders on me. I think I will not purchase this cream again.

This moisturizer didn't help my dry and taut skin at all. Maybe I'm more in need of moisture than lipids, and this cream actually felt more fatty than moisturizing. There was nothing luxurious about this product. I'm not looking for extra frills or anything, but the pot this cream comes in just looks CHEAP. The scent and colour reminded me of Clinique's DDML, which is fine but no luxury factors there, either. I think it'll do great job used on my heels over-night, though! ;)
