Uggghhhh!!! I must have over 200 perfumes, between real bottles and minis, and I add this to attest to my range of scents, from cheap to expensive, sweet and girly to spicy and sexy, etc etc. Eternity is probably my second least favorite of any perfumes I've ever tried, the first being Shalimar. It actually makes me feeling nauseous. There's something super fake/synthetic about it, but I can't put my finger on what component that is. It is a very physical aversion that occurs as it curdles my stomach! (not just the emotional aversion one has to a scent based on bad memories or something) I urge anyone who is thinking about it, for the love of God and all the people around you, please think twice before assaulting us with this pungent, horrific catastrophe in a bottle.

I was huting this perfume for years before someone finally told me what it was called. I would smell this most gorgeous smell; so feminine, on someone at work, but I never asked her what she was wearing. Then, many years later; while I was shopping, there it was again. I asked the woman what she was wearing and she told me. I would have never guessed it was Eternity. I have passed by this bottle so many times at the Macy's counter and never picked it up. So, I rushed out and bought some. I must admit. Initially, when you first put this on, you really have to hold your breath. It certainly does smell very strong and chemical-like. It is almost revolting. But then, something magical happens. It comes in contact with your skin and suddenly this smell transforms into the most sexy, alluring, and feminine fragrance on the planet. It is by far, the most wonderful perfume I have ever smelled in my life. I no longer have to search endlessly for my signature fragrance. I just love this perfume; can't get enough of it. I'm sniffing the bottle right now as I type this.

My all time favourite perfume. Keep going back to this one. Unique scent and so delicate, never met anyone, who did not like it. My local perfume-shop women says, its known not to irritate people who suffer from migreane, and its true. Its one of the few perfumes, that I can wear even when the head is problematic. It is very white in the smell, and the smell is kind of "expensive", you can tell it is made by a famous brand

I use to use this product back in 1991 or 92 I loved it. The perfume was every where you could find knock offs on every shelf of the dollar stores. It was very young modern scent to me I was in grade school wearing it.

I have been running to escape this fragrance for the entire 24 years since its creation. It's up there with Youth-Dew, Lady Stetson and Opium on my list of stomach-churners. It's hard to be in the same room with someone wearing this sharp, metallic, synthetic, cloying mess. I suppose there are some who have the skin chemistry
(and restraint of application) to bring out the roses and lilies buried beneath Eternity's top notes of soap-on-a-steel-spike, but I have yet to meet one.

I tested this at Sephora today. Not sure how to describe it, but it does NOT smell very sexy or feminine on me. Very chemical-like.

The only thing I like about this is the bottle. The fragrance is strong like bleach cleaner :-( just bad! I got this as a gift and showered immediately after trying it, yuck.

If ever there was a perfume that benefited most from marketing, it must be Eternity. All thoughs glossy black and white ads with beautiful people rolling around on the beach. Everyone had to have it! But wow was this dissapointing. My expectations of a clean and modern scent that matched the ad campaign were quickly snuffed out. This was incredibly pungent. It's unbelievable howt his is such a succesful perfume. I can't imagine anyone wearing it.

First tried it out when I was 21. Do not understand why people say it is an older lady scent. Just because it came out 20 years ago it is so up to date (unlike Chanel #5 - classy but oh my - so heavy)

It combines freshness of spring, sophistication of a lady and spice of sex appeal.

In my opinion this is how a woman at any age should smell.

In love with it.

Eternity forever.

I've used this for years, and even though it's a decent perfume, sometimes I feel it's "too much" for me... maybe it's a bit strong, but not in a bad way.

Got this as a gift and am very happy with it.

It is a sophisticated, rather-mature scent that is appropriate for daily wear and formal occasion as well. I like that it doesn't attempt to be overtly sexual or "youthful".
I'm 36 and fruity-vanilla smells are now ridiculous on me. Lasts fairly long, and with 2 sprays I smell great for hours. My boyfriend loves it.

Back in the 90s Eternity was a powerhouse fragrance - you either loved it or you hated it, there was no in between. I was one who loved it. Unfortunately, an ex-sister-law also wore it and her divorce from my dh's brother wasn't a pleasant one. Everytime I smelled it thereafter I thought of her, so I stopped wearing it. I tried it on again yesterday, after not wearing it for more than 5 years, and I was shocked to find that it's no longer the powerhouse it used to be. When I used to wear it I could smell it on my clothes and sometimes on myself the next day, but the scent barely lasted a half-hour on me yesterday. Obviously, Eternity has been tweaked - as is what happens to all fragrances now mostly thanks to the evil IFRA - and ruined IMO. How sad that this once great lady has been brought to nothing. Oh well, this is obviously the new normal for all perfumes eventually. :(

My Mum wears this, so perhaps I am biased. It makes a nice change for the older woman, who usually is restricted to:
- The OTT heavy matronly floral scents
- The ascetic bitch scents (Opium etc)

This is sharp but sweet at the same time. It smells of old school face powders and lipstick, with fresh laundry mixed in. It's gentle, but clear. Soft, without being a pushover. Floral, without having that decaying flowers rotting away in a pot of honey smell. I like this. It's ethereal without being nonsense.

Okay...I read a review that said if I liked Euphoria, I would like this. So I bought the sample. Horrible scent, like insect repellant, a really strong sickening sweet-chemical odor. I couldn't wash it off fast enough! I thought maybe it was my chemistry, but I uncapped the vial, just to smell it, and whew~ awful! I don't know who would compare it to Euphoria. I guess to each their own, as I see a few women like it. Definitely not for me.

Once this scent gets in my nose, it's very hard to chase it out. It has a very sharp soapy quality to it. Instant headache inducer. Very strong sillage (maybe due to users spraying large quantities on). I haven't dared to spray this on myself because of my reaction to the way it smells on others. Not pretty or feminine at all.

Eternity, how I loved thee back in 1991. (Wow that was 20 yrs ago!)
Young, vibrant, alive ... lovely memories. Very nostalgic perfume.

Other than that, very bright, crisp, tart scent that has a light, fresh quality of water & sunshine ... & is discernible on anyone.

Gorgeous fragrance (though I don't wear it now). And I like the name too.

Created by Sophia Grosjman in 1988 - I find that I love a number of her creations over the years...Coty 'Exclamation,' Estee Lauder 'White Linen,' Gloria Vanderbilt 'Vanderbilt,' YSL 'Paris,' Elizabeth Taylor 'White Diamonds.' She has a great nose IMO.
