I don't know about lightening because I'm naturally fair but I want to get rid of some acne scars on my face. So far, it hasn't given me any spectacular results other than a light moisturising. I don't like the packaging (pump)because for that kind of money, I'd expect to use every drop.

I've been using this for a couple months now and it has really brightened my skin and made my sunspots less visible.. it is very very expensive though for its size.. but I guess since it's an "essence" it would be worth it.

My mom passed me a sample of this, which i believe is only found in Asia or Australia. I dont think clinique's whitening range is sold in the US. ANYWAYS, i was really looking forward to using this product as my sensitive/combo/oily/acne-prone skin has since stabilised on a regime of Differin and Clindagel and Olive Oil .... I've only used it for a grand total of TWO times, and in 2 days i'm broken out again. ARRGHHHH ... there's something very vile in this innoculous-looking treatment product which is expensive as well. This essence has a pearly white and milky consistency, absorbs easily, non-oily. But doesnt work for me since it obviously is acnegenic on my skin. Cant comment on brightening effect as I only used it twice. Ingredients list is a mile long which is typical of Clinique ... makes finding culprits really hard.

I've tried many of these essence/serums that claim to brighten/lighten skin. The lab foruma is quite good. I honestly don't believe a cosmetic product is going to lighten skin, but I do believe in brightening, and this actually does! It also makes my skin feel soft and smooth. If I don't find one that performs better I will definately purchase again.
