Honestly, I can't say I have had dramatic results with this product. The reason I like it is that it is soothing, and smells wonderful. I use it at end of day to relax, a couple times a week.

This was recommended to me after a recent facial. It's just OK. It is very gentle, but I didn't notice any remarkable difference in my skin and I've used it 4 times since my facial. I also use the Rose Visage toner and a few other products from Phytomer. Color me unimpressed. Not the greatest for oily, acne prone skin types.

I use this mask in the morning 2x per week. Great for sensitive skin because it does not leave any redness. It is so gentle I wonder if I am really getting a benefit from it. It isn't going to knock your socks off with a day and night difference but I think it does very gently exfoliate and you won't get the "purge" effect that some products give you if you stick to 1-2 times per week. I like that you can leave it on for 5 min and rinse off - perfect for using in the morning as a quick exfoliation. This is a very good alternative to Murad's old fruit enzyme exfoliation mask which has been discontinued.

I had acne in my teens which suddenly reappeared again in my mid 20s. After getting a series of facials at a mid range spa, I (together with my wallet) decided to take the plunge & check out a top notch, highly recommended spa here in Australia. The beauty therapist introduced me to the Phytomer range, where I first tried Peeling Vegetal.
This is one of the first exfoliants that has not made my sensitive, combination, acne-prone skin break out. I use it 1-2 times a week in this routine recommended by the therapist for my skin type:
Phytomer Velvet Cleansing Cream
Phytomer Rose Visage Toner
Phytomer Peeling Vegetal
Phytomer Oligopur Shine Control Purifying Mask
Phytomer Hydracontinue Moisturising Base Cream
I apply a layer (concentrating on my T zone) and leave for about 5 minutes. Then gently wash off. I have not tried it in the shower as per previous reviews, but I'm glad I've read about that. It makes sense so will definitely try it next time.
Products were purchased on eBay (US) as they were so much cheaper than what it retails for here. I have been on this routine for 2 and a half months now & this is the best I've seen my skin in a long time. Will definitely repurchase.

Very gentle. I can't see this hurting even the most sensitive skintypes because it doesn't involve any kind of scrubbing, and on my finicky skin, I hardly even feel a tingle while it's on. I find it works best 1-2x a week. I massage a thin layer all over my face and neck concentrating on my t-zone where my pores tend to clog more & where my skin gets dry/flaky. I'll leave it on while in the bath or shower for at least 5 minutes to let the steam warm and soften my skin even more, prior to rinsing. My skin always glows and my makeup goes on very smoothly. This is one of the only peeling/exfoliating products that I would use in the daytime or prior to an event because it's so gentle and leaves no redness or requires any recovery time.

Absolutely the best peeling I've ever tried! Appears to be less pricey in Europe, and I'd recommend it especially for sensitive skin.

I first got this product after an Elizabeth Arden facial. I have since repurchased. I think it's a very good exfoliant for my sensitive, acne-prone skin. I use it in the shower once or twice a week. I think it works better with steam. I only gave it 4 starts because I still think there's something better out there, but I will continue to use this until I find it.

This is the most useless skincare product I've ever bought.
Got a facial a few months ago and was convinced by the facialist to buy this. I decided to give it a shot. Should have known better.

It hasn't done a single thing for my skin. Cost me 40 bucks Canadian. what a waste!

This is a chemical exfoliant that gently (and CHEMICALLY) "peels" away the dead layers of skin using active ingredients in the product. It is most effectively used with steam, for about 5-10 minutes. I first was introduced to this product in an Elizabeth Arden salon.

It costs about $30 a bottle, and is quite pricey. I think to see a significant difference one must:
1- Use with steam for 5-10 minutes
2 - Use weekly or bi-weekly

With that said, I think that, while effective, the product was too costly for repurchase. I would buy it if it were $10, but $30? eh. There are other things I would rather try or repurchase.

This claims to be an exfoliant, yet it has no exfoliating properties. It is a very filmy gel that is meant to be applied as a mask, and rinsed after 5 minutes. This did nothing positive or negative for my complexion. It's certainly gentle, but I was expecting better results and more exfoliation. I wouldn't recommend this if you are looking for a true skin exfoliating experience. This might be good for someone who would use it as a moisturizing mask. I think they should definitely change the product description.

I received a sample of this today at the spa I go to. I am glad I didn't have to buy this. There are no positive or negative visual effects but my face itches like crazy! I will not be using the remaining sample tubes.

I've been using this "mask" for 3 months and I haven't noticed any exfoliating action. No smoother skin, no nothing. The only thing this product does, is covering skin in a thin layer of oil, I suppose it makes skin plumper and about 10% more glowing, but thats all. Will not buy again.

Great exfoliator for people with sensitive skin. I put it on my face once a week and leave it on while I take my bath. After about 5 or 10 minutes I rinse it off and I have lovely soft skin without any irritation! For me it's the best alternative for any scrub.. reaaly clears up your skin and makes it look glowing and healthy!

The Phytomer SA gave me a facial and used this on me. It really exfoliated my face and I felt the effect because of the slight peeling I experienced. I bought a tube and went home. Unfortunately, I couldn't duplicate the effect on myself! I ended up selling it. But I still wanna give it another chance, so I'm using my sample and waiting for the time when I finally get the usage right.

i was able to try this when the consultant gave me a free facial. she used this along with the accept gentle mask (which supposedly adds glow to your skin) and whoaa! my skin was really great afterwards -- and isn't a gift i normally have with my skin! i'm not sure if it's the peeling vegetal that made the most difference but my face was definitely glowing! so was i!

EDIT: i probably wouldn't buy this when i finish my tube, not because it's no good but i'm always raring for other stuff to try out.

UPDATE: this is what i always reach for when my skin looks dull. i've become quite reliant on this, but i'm still not sure if i would repurchase.

I don't know what I would do without this! It's so gentle but SO effective. My skin was acting up. It was red, itchy, flakey and just terrible. I put this on my face and I just love the texture. After 5 minutes, I rinsed it off and my skin felt so soft and clean. Not dried out. No more flakies!!! Woo hoo! I have been using a very harsh product to get rid of blackheads on my nose and it has made my skin super dry, but after using this and moisturizing afterwards, my skin looks perfect. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!

I received a sample of this with a Sephora order and am very glad not to have spent any money on it. While people with extremely fine or sensitive skin may experience some benefit, it did absolutely nothing for my fair, combination, slightly sensitive skin. The "enzymatic action" was evidently not strong enough for me.
My first red flag was raised by the ingredient list: vegetable oil is the second ingredient listed, after water. I suspect that this had a buffering effect which prevented the other, more effective-sounding ingredients, such as kaolin and papain--things which usually work well for me--from having any effect. Additionally, the oil left my skin feeling not soft so much as greasy, no matter how thoroughly I rinsed my skin when removing the mask. No other effect was noticeable.
The kaolin, I think, is high enough on the list of ingredients that it really should have had some effect, and the fact that it didn't lends credence to my theory about the oil. The papain, however, is so far down the list that I doubt it could have had any exfoliant effect at all.
Additionally, I found the scent overwhelmingly and objectionably perfumy. The rest of my sample is going in the trash, and I will not be purchasing this product, under any circumstances. (Even if it worked, I would have to give a purchase some pretty serious thought, considering the ridiculously high pricetag!)

Eh. I got this as a sample with purchase from sephora, and I have to say that even though I have sensitive skin, I much prefer an exfoliant with grains like Benefit's Pinapple Face Polish.I couldn't really tell that this did anything.
