I used this product when i had active acne of my face. To cover acne, it was my all time favorite makeup.
I loved the texture and i found it covered much better than other brands.
I also loved the fact that is was made especially for acne prone skin. I have used other brands of foundations and i was always suspected that they made my acne worse.
With this foundation i could feel it wasn't clogging my pores and i felt really confidante that it wasn't making my acne worse.

I liked the packaging, with the little sponge applicator. I would wash the sponge after every application, and once a week disinfect the whole thing with alcool.

This is the best foundation i have used for acne / acne prone skin.
I have very fair skin, so i used the lighest color which was a perfect match.

This was awful! The color was very ugly on me. The foundation was very drying and gives a whole new meaning to the concept of a matte appearance. Oh boy, never again. They should stick to the regular proactiv acne system which I love.

I have been using the Proactiv system for almost a year now. I have tried going off of it, only to break out again. I had been using CoverGirl TruMinerals Powder Foundation, which I really like, however, by mid day, I am an oil slick! So, I decided to try Proactiv's foundation. It actually went on really light and I did see that it covered well, with additional application. It doesn't feel like I have anything on my face and it made my pores smaller. It wasn't oily and dried to a nice, smooth, powder application. I followed with the powder and my face felt like silk and no oilies! I will buy again!
7/04/08- UPDATE: After using this product for a week, I started breaking out! I was also shinier than I was with CoverGirl TruMinerals powder Foundation. I am SO disappointed. I will NOT buy this again!

I was so excited 2 see proactiv had makeup out. But I have sensitive skin & I tried this along w/ the powder, which the powder i loved, but not that foundation. After a few days, it started to burn my skin, and i have to stop using it. My skin was left red, and very irritated. Besides that, the covering, It was not good either. Would not recommend if you have sensitive skin.

I just recently got this from a proactiv cart in the mall. I had been using dream matte mousse and thought i had loved it. But then my mom bought me this. And within a week, i could actually see a difference with my acne! It is really pricey, for not too much makeup, but it does cover pretty well, and if it helps get rid of my acne, im going to keep buying it.

For the most part, I do like this product. Although it is extremely sheer (to get it to really cover scars/blemishes, you need to use a concealer under it), the color is pretty good for my skin tone and I believe it has helped with my skin. I love the packaging, very slim and convenient, but definitely wash your hands before touching up during the day, as dirt from your fingers will go into the makeup. DEFINITELY use a moisturizer beforehand, as this will highlight flakes and dry out your skin somewhat. Overall, I like this foundation, but it could definitely improve.

Got this from my cousin who has had acne her whole life but Proactiv was terrible for her. I generally have wonderful skin... as far as zits, I usually have one every two months and I've never used any certain type of face wash or worried about a face regime. I'm still pretty clueless in that aspect too, sadly.
I began using Proactiv (I'm using everything... repairing lotion, that green alcohol-smelling thing, sulfur-based mask) about two weeks ago. I don't currently have acne but I am broken out. I'm not sure that I should be using this stuff because it is abrasive but whatever.
So far, besides it being so abrasive, I'm doing OK with it. It seems to have at least kept any more acne at bay, although it's failed to remove what I do have. I'm on the lookout for something less abrasive because it hasn't done anything in 2 weeks (it's not like i have horrible zits right now either) except kind of irritate my skin after usage. I'm afraid this might entice more zits instead of preventing and curing them!!

Just didn't get along with this product.

PROS:
- Good color match
- Salcyclic acid does clear up skin a bit
- Nice packaging

CONS:
- It went on oily-feeling, then changed into too dry and cakey.
- Doesn't cover anything... maybe if you use a good concealer under it?
- Looks very streaky after it dries

First of all none of the colours match my skin tone
second it just doesn't work. I continued to break out just as much as without the foundation. I am so upset that they continue to fool so many people with their advertising. I will never buy any of their products again.

Did not like this fondation because it covers NOTHING and goes on very dry. Even when using a damp sponge, it still is too dry. Would not order again.

I bought this in Fair (the lightest shade) because I tried Light (the 2nd lightest shade) a few years ago and it was too orange. When I first opened it up, my heart sank because it looked orange as well. But I figured I'd try it anyway. Huh. Its a perfect match for my skin! (Other perfect foundation matches for me include Clinique's Perfectly Real in shade 02, Laura Mercier's Oil Free liquid foundation in Blush Ivory, Chanel's ProLumiere SPF 15 liquid foundation in 0.5 Nude, Clinique's Soft Finish Makeup in Soft Linen... so I usually take the lightest shade or the 2nd lightest shade, neutral-to-pinkish undertones). This foundation is more on the pinkish side, but it looks very natural on me. It is a creme-to-powder consistency, and is VERY similar to Benefit's Some Kinda Gorgeous (which is a tad TOO dark for me). In fact, I would say their consistencies are exactly alike. So, if Some Kinda Gorgeous was just a little too dark for you, and you have pink undertones to your skin, this would be perfect. The reason I give it a 4 instead of a 5 is because it can tend to highlight flakiness, but really, that is true for any creme-to-powder formulation on my skin (and Benefit's was much worse in this department, IMO). Im happy with it, and I would consider repurchasing it again.

I'm writing this based on my cousin's opinion about this product.

She has been using Pro-Activ for many years and she's very pleased with it. So, she tried the foundation. She got this in Light, but it didn't match her skin well at all. She also said that it didn't help control her oil. And within time, it irritated her skin (due to the salicylic acid) and broke her out.

Proactiv seems to be great at first. When I used it I saw immediate results, but they didn't last. This is because the active ingredient is benzyl peroxide. Benzyl peroxide dries out your skin, which is why you see immediate results. Prolonged sun exposure also dries out your skin. At first your skin looks great; it looks tight and acne free. But dry skin after a while will cause your skin to produce more oil. This is why the poactiv results typically fade after several months. So not only does your skin become oily again, but the oil production actually increases to keep up with the product drying out your skin. So if you stop using the product your skin will be even worse than before you started. It gets worse... dry skin also causes you to get wrinkles sooner. Again like the sun, if you are exposed too long it looks good but after time the negative effects show. Also benzyl peroxide actually bleaches your skin. I don't know about you but I am not going for that ghostly white look. Hopefully this has helped you on making your decision whether or not to buy or continue using proactiv.

In my never ending quest to find a foundation that does not break my skin out, I ordered this makeup. I really like their sunscreen so I thought I would try this as some people seem to have had luck with it. I ordered this in Fair the lightest shade available. This shade would work well if you had orange skin. The color is absolutely awful and it is going back this week. The color range of this makeup is very poor and you would think that Rhodan and Fields could come up with a better foundation.

I have had years of bad luck with foundations and powders causing me to break out, so I was pleased to find I could wear this all day with no breakouts -- that's why I give it a rating of 4. The salicylic acid has not irritated my skin so far, although I wear it only occasionally; I'm not an everyday foundation person. I apply it with a dry sponge and coverage is pretty sheer, which is what I like. However, I do agree with the person who said it was dry and cakey -- it looks terrible under my eyes. And although it looks good on the rest of my face, when I brush loose powder on top, it becomes obvious that I'm wearing makeup because the powder sits on top instead of blending with the foundation. So while I would buy it again, I'll probably try other foundations first and see if I can find anything else that doesn't make me break out.

Update: Now that I've tried both mineral and liquid foundations, I would not buy this cream-to-powder foundation again. Coverage is not as sheer as other foundations (Jane Iredale pure pressed base and Clinique Perfectly Real, for instance) and color selection is very poor; the Light shade of ProActiv makes me look like a pale and waxy yellow. The 'Fair' shade is too pink though.

Since I've been using the Proactiv line, I figured I would try the foundation. I have light/medium skin tone, so I bought the light color (they don't have a very friendly color selection). The lightest color they have is equal to a meduim to dark shade of any other foundation I've tried. Not even close on the color.

I use this along with the 3 piece system and am happy with the results and think that using this makeup is part of the reason my skin is staying clear. Sometimes my usually oily, sensitive skin gets a bit dry from the system so this foundation can look a bit dry and it can have a burning sensation for a couple of minutes (due to the salyicic acid I believe). BUT since using the oil free moisturiser before applying this foundation, the results are great. It gives enough coverage that my skin looks even and clear but it is sheer enough that my skin looks natural. It has great lasting ability and it doesn't settle into lines (I hate when foundation sinks into laugh lines). The "light" colour matches my fair skin perfectly and I like that it combats acne so I don't have to worry about getting new pimples. The overall effect of this foudation is very nice and I also like that it is neat and easy to apply. I still have to use a concealer (Shiseido stick) to cover up the odd mark and broken capillaries but I'd rather do this than have a heavy foundation.

I use Proactiv Sheer Finish Compact Foundation on problem spots (my cheek bones and chin) and Za Two-way Foundation with SPF 15, tone 21 over it (Za Foundation looks like a dry compact powder, is made of extremely fine and light rice dust, and contains microscopic sparkles incredibly diffusing the light and making you look so radiant). They seem to work great together.

Proactiv foundation in Light is a bit too yellow for me, so I'm planning to try it in Fair. Before, I used Revlon Oil-free ColorStay Lite Makeup with SPF 15 (Buff), but SPF 15 ingredients make Revlon foundations smell really bad under the strong sun light, and it seemed to eventually clog the pores where it was applied, so I won't use it anymore. Proactiv foundation conceals much better, skin appears smoother, and pores don't look clogged later. I apply it with dry sponge provided and blend it in light circular motions. It becomes nearly invisible while slightly covering skin imperfections (it is a sheer foundation, so it wouldn't completely cover everything you might want to hide, but the coverage is stronger and smoother than Revlon ColorStay Lite Makeup provides). Although the sponge tends to apply a bit too thick layer sometimes, I wipe some of it off with clean part of the sponge then. Will try to find a foundation brush for this product.

It doesn't burn my skin even during the hottest day because of Za Foundation with SPF 15 applied over it. But I won't wear Proactiv foundation to the beach, only Za foundation on my face and Proactiv Moisture with SPF 15 on my body. You should avoid the sun or apply a sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher when using any product containing Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Icid or frequently exfoliate your skin.

Terrible foundation. Way too drying, looks cheap and cakey. The type of foundation that one should never be caught dead wearing, as it looks so obviously like foundation. Also, found the salicylic acid much too irritating.
