The "olde worlde" looking tube looks nice but it's my least favourite aspect of this very nice hand cream. The metal tube ends up looking lumpy after just a few uses, it's hard to get the very last of the product out of the tube (toothpaste tubes in the 50's were like this and then companies changed to better tubes) and I am always losing track of the tiny screw on cap. BUT OTHERWISE, this is a fabulous hand cream. It is so soothing and moisturizing. I know that lavender is one of those ingredients that can be irritating to sensitive skins but even when my hands are very dry and chapped, this hand cream does not irritate me at all and the smell is heavenly. I love to apply this before bed, partly so it can work well overnight but mostly so the soothing lavender scent can help send me off to sleep. Definitely a repurchase product. I buy this in the 20% Shea Butter formula for my future son in law who has very dry hands and very, very sensitive skin and it works a charm on him (also, the fragrance of the shea butter formula is a lot less "girly").

My mitts are so dry that it hurts. Constant handwashing with antibacterial soaps has made it a chore to constantly apply lotions - when I do they are typically greasy, have unpleasant fragrance or disappear along with the moisture as soon as it is absorbed.
I love L'Occitane Lavender Hand Cream for absorbing in fast, leaving my hands feeling and looking moisturized, and smelling nice. This hand cream is one of a select few I think are worth a try if you are super picky.

Just like the reviewer below I adore this cream. I love the insanely strong lavender smell and the moisture that this hand cream provides for my hands. It leaves my hands soft and smooth. I will have to wait till winter to make a final conclusion but so far the hydration is enough. The fact that I loved this cream was a little surprising because my skin usually prefers heavier consistencies but this gel-like texture is able to give all the moisture my hands need

I am sooooooooooooo in LOVE with this product. This is the best lavender-scented product that I have ever smelled. Because this smells so fantastic, I apply it about 3 to 4 times a day, which ultimately helps my hands immensely, as my hands (along with my feet) tend to be very dry. This cream feels lighter than most true "cream" products, but it does a very nice job of moisturizing. Also, the little tube that it comes in (I get the $10 1 oz size) is perfect to throw in your purse or keep in your desk at work; plus, it's a cap that physically screws on the tube so you don't have to worry about it accidentally flipping open and getting lotion on everything. I wish they made this in a huge size so I could use it as a body lotion because I am really so obsessed with the smell of this.

First: I LOVE the smell. Lavender can be a bit old-fashioned, but this one is just wonderful, green and spicy. The packaging is great, it is some sort of metal, but it stays smooth and nice (unlike the hand creams from the Body Shop)
I use this during the day since it is really, really light and thus dries quickly. I only slightly notice the moisturizing property of it, which is nice now in the summer, but it would be a bit pointless to use this in the winter.

I have extremely dry skin on my hands and find most hand creams do not help much. This is one of those creams. This is very greasy that I would only use it at night. The scent itself I found icky and old fashioned. I used quite a bit of the cream and the more you use the stronger the lavender scent is. I would not purchase. It might help some people, but for me this was nothing special.

I got this in my Christmas stocking so I don't know how much it cost. I took off one lippie for the overwhelming scent. It makes my hands very soft and prevented my annual winter cracked/peeling/bleeding cuticles. Highly recommended.

Not too sure if I will buy the product again for whatever reasons. The smell is greattttt, I think almost everyone will fall in love with the smell. Whilst it hydrates the skin when you put it on, I don't feel that it lasts very long so it is an okay-ish product for me. The form and texture itself is quite runny, that's why I don't feel like I am getting so much from this hand 'cream'.

This IS a good hand cream...BUT...the packaging. Oh the packaging. The metallic tube is very pretty and the lavender scent is beautiful...but the cap of the tube becomes VERY easily unscrewed, and before I knew it, I was cleaning the entire tube out of my backpack. Needless to say, I wasn't very happy. Unless they change the packaging, I won't be buying this again.

This is a light creme that I suppose only do the trick for people with less dry hands. The lavender smell is a little to strong in the begging, but it fades out nicely. I really like the fact that the creme gets absorbed so quickly and it hydrates my hands perfectly in the summer time, but in the winter time my hands get so dry that they start to crack and bleed, then I have to use a heavier creme, like L'Occitane Shea Butter hand creme.

I received this as a gift. While I prefer it to the L'Occitane 20 percent Shea Butter lotion, I am still not crazy about it. It has kind of a "gel" feeling to it and does not feel soothing. I can kind of feel a cooling, evaporation feeling on the skin. It is less greasy than the shea butter lotion, but doesn't feel terribly moisturizing either. I do like the scent, but overall, I far prefer Bed Bath & Beyond's aromatherapy Lavender Vanilla hand cream - $10 in a sturdy tube and makes my hands feel smooth and soothed.

This is way too expensive for what it does. I've tried C.O. Bigelow's Quince Hand Lotion and loved that for awhile, and thought I'd try something different. This L'Occitane lotion is a little too lightweight for me and not moisturizing enough.

This is a good, light hand cream for when a thicker one might be too heavy. It smells very nice, and absorbs well. It's great to use with another hand cream, for a lighter result but I wouldn't buy this as my only one.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Acne-prone, Medium Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
Elegant lavender smell and elegant texture. I wanted to like this so bad. Despite these good attributes, this hand cream was not as rich as I would have liked and was not effective for me. I often have dry hands and this did not really help with this.

I am very disappointed with this product. I had been using the 15% shea butter foot cream (lavender scented) as a hand cream before bed and found it very relaxing. After reading good reviews on here I decided to purchase the real lavender hand cream as sometimes the foot cream could be a little rich. First off the smell of this cream is gorgeous- a true clean fresh lavendar, with a nicer texture than the foot cream (it sank right in). However the lovely scent soon disappears leaving behind a chemically powdery citrus-y smell that is most unpleasant. I won't be buying this again, and hopefully will fall asleep before the lovely beginning scent wears off!

This is a luxurious hand cream that I use mostly for the lavender scent because it is sooo relaxing! I like to take a long, hot bubble bath with a few drops of lavender essential oil right before bed and then put this on along with the lavender body lotion. It's the perfect recipe for a night of deep, delicious, restful sleep!

It does the job, lightweight, great consistency and smells heavenly...
I keep this on my bedside table...and I love smelling my hand after I put this on while watching tv...
EDIT: actually this is not really helpful in winter..more like a summer hand cream for me as this is too light.

I got a little tube of this while shopping for family, and am so glad I did! As other reviewers noted, it's thick without being oily, moisturizes well, and has a delicious lavender scent. It's almost spicy, not grandma. The smell and the immediate absorption have me using it 1-2 times a day which I can never remember to do with other lotions. The winter air is very dry where I am and moisturizing is critical. Also note, my bf is highly sensitive to fragrance, and this one does not bother him! He thinks it smells like pine for some reason...fine by me.

I cannot believe I've never tried this before. Oh my god, it's so light and easily absorbed, without compromising on the fragrance. I have the 30ml travel-size and I'm already looking forward to buying a bigger tube when I use this one up.
Tip: L'Occitane stuff is so high-quality (and expensive) I felt awful using it just on my hands, so I used some of the stuff as an under-eye cream as well. Do try. It leaves a nice calming, yet tingly feeling without inflaming the skin. My gift box has the Shea Butter and Verbena variants as well, can't wait to try those!

I'm a compulsive hand moisturizer - I keep a tube next to my bed and also in my bag because my hands are rather dry. This is my favourite hand cream of all time, because it absorbs so very quickly that you can get back to whatever you're doing in no time. Many hand creams I've tried either leave a very heavy feeling on your hands, so you feel icky doing a task after moisturizing your hands, or are so lightweight that they have little moisturizing ability. This one strikes the perfect balance and it also smells lovely. The scent is just nice - it doesn't smell too artificial and it's not overpowering either, despite some of the reviews here. I think this product may not be right for those with super dry hands, because it's not a thick cream, but it works well for me. It's also definitely pricier than the drugstore variety, but I think there's a clear reason why there's a price difference.
