I bought a small travel sized bottle of this to try at Wal Mart and I will definitely be pruchasing the regular sized bottle soon. This left my skin feeling beautiful, and could smell its deliciously clean scent on my arms, hours after my shower.

I don't love this product but don't hate it either. Sure it's a good body wash, but then almost all body washes are good products and it does not seem to really stand out that much in terms of cleansing and moisturizing.

I can't love it for 2 reasons.
#1 the scent. I smelled through the whole collection at my local pharmacy and all scents seemed like remnants from history (I didn't see the newer grapefruit and cucumber scents there). It made me wonder if Dove was just lagging behind in scent research. I ended up buying the apricot scent and quickly got tired of it because I prefered lighter scent rather than medium-strong.
#2 the bottle has a pointy tip, so if you're near the end of the bottle and don't like to waste it, you're going to have a fun time getting the last bits out.

In summary (good product 5.0) - (2 flaws) = 3.0

Why did the switch from ammonium laureth sulphate (mild) to sodium laureth sulphate (harsh). I thought the whole point of adding the nutrium stuff was to make it better. It seems like they improved the moisturizers but are using harsher soap base.

Great feel, great moisture, however I hate the way the cap is shaped. When you get down to the end of it, you can't just flip it over and use it all up. The curved head makes it impossible to get every last bit out. But the product itself works really well! Removes sweat and dirt and leaves your skin moisturized and non-stretchy

i think i would buy the age defying off ebay or something but idk i'm sort of allergic to vit. A unless it's made withh balancing other ingredients properly.... so idk would it make me break out if i'm also using other skin care that is more harsh...

as for now i'm actually using this new visible care softening w/ nutrium moisture. it seemed like the best ingredients of all the options at walmart i think even tho olay age effects which was the only one on the shelf along those lines....

anyway i'm currently using the whole bliss fat girl slim & love handler line which smells like a orphanage so i don't care cuz i don't have a life right now and i want to see if it at least works. i'm just trying to cover it up as much as possible so type of smell was important to me also.

i think using this body was i can be more harsh with all the bliss products and not break out.

but i'm worried what if it's making them not work as well???????

not sure. my skin is not broken out but i feel like i have a yeast infection this morning but it's already gone so i'll watch out....

loosing lbs from 150-300-200 ish and down now so i gotta be extreme... and this is all i can afford right now so just want to work with this til i can afford to go further.

I've always used this, and when I tried other products I was surprised how dry they made me. This prevents extreme dryness, but I have really dry skin, so I still lotion it up/body butter it up after the shower anyway. I love the dove body washes, they are high quality moisturizers. :D

I read a fascinating article on the nytimes.com about the science behind both this body wash and a new Vaseline lotion. It described how the moisturizers on the market can “stick” to skin in a way that helps form a shield over your skin which is made of moisture. In addition to this, the product supposedly penetrates deep down to help your skin be less dry in the long run.

It sounded so cool that I bought this body wash at Duane Reade for over $12.50. I felt this was pricey for body wash, even though the bottle was massive and contained 24 oz. of product. The product can be found at drugstore.com for $8.99.

Since purchasing this, I have used it steadily for 4 months. Dove markets this body wash as a product that will drastically improve your skin, unlike other body washes, which will temporarily improve (but ultimately impair) your skin’s moisture levels.

You get a lot of product for your money, but I was not impressed with the performance of this body wash. To be honest, I am shocked everyone likes it so much. I did not notice anything special about the formula and felt less moisturized than when I use my usual Olay Body Ribbons body wash. Beyond that, I did not like the scent of this product. It has a distinctly clean scent, but after covering your legs and arms alone, the scent becomes overwhelming; more like laundry detergent. The only upside I see to this product is the packaging is easy to use. This disappointment, combined with the misleading marketing message, means I will not re-purchase and may think twice (or take a cautionary sniff) when it comes to future Dove purchases.

I have this in Grapefruit and Lemongrass scent. I have to say, beyond the grapefruit and lemongrass smell, there some other smell that reminds of me of Pond's cold cream and other dove products which I'm not sure if it's fragrance or some chemical but I'm not exactly a fan of the scent because of this. I like that it is moisturizing but it doesn't really clean my skin as thoroughly as the gel type body washes. It also breaks me out more often when I use this. But this would be great for dry skin and not oily/combo skin.

I love this body wash!!! It smells great and makes my skin feel super soft afterwards. Some body washes that have too much scent can irritate my skin (aka. Bath & Body Works) This one is perfect for sensitive skin and keeps my skin soft without leaving a greasy residue. I just wish it would lather a little more so I didn't have to use so much but that is a small price to pay for a great product

I bought this a while ago but have been delaying a review waiting till the bottle was almost done to see how long it lasted and if there is any cumulative effects. Well this is definitley value for the money, only a tiny bit lathers up hugely and therfore the bottle lasts a while. back to the lather , it's pretty perfect it's creamy and not stripping but i do feel like it still cleanses well. now about softenin abilities I definitley notice my skin being softer after im out of the shower which in itself isnt such a great feat, a lot of body washes have oils, emolients, and other moisturizers in it that get left behind on yout skin like a built in lotioning process, and therfore making it softer. So these other kinds washes are softening and moisturizing but they leave a lotiony and even sometimes greasy feeling on your skin and even in your shower. They make it feel like you have applied something to your skin. This is totally different it makes your skin feel naturally soft almost from within definitley not like there is product on your skin. the only way I can describe it is if you have ever gone in a nice lake or ocean and your skin feels increadibly soft and healthy. The only thing I dont really like about this is the typical dove smell, I don't know I prefer something fresher or prettier this is very soapy .

I liked this a lot. It moisturizes and cleanses. The scent was OK. It has antioxidants to help skin. It was not harsh. I have more negatives than positives, though. I did not like the following:

1. Left large globs of lotion-y product all over shower and curtain.
2. Slight increase in body breakouts.
3. Cannot turn bottle over to squeeze out last little bits as the top is pointy.

I love this product. Defenetly a HG. My mom and I love Dove products. She continues to repurchase and I'm glad she does. This body wash leaves my skin feeling soft and moisurized, I don't have to apply lotion after I take a shower. Which is good because I'm lazy. :P Haha. It lathers up nicely and it leaves me with a clean feeling. :)

I bought this today and I'm glad I did. It's so moisturizing, smells nice just leaves my whole body silky. Silky enough I don't really have to put lotion on! I have this in Pomegrante/Lemon verdena. Will repurchase this :)

LOVE the Grapefruit & Lemongrass one. The scent is just a perfect pick-me-up for mornings or after a work out. That's why I bought it. I just opened every body wash and sniffed away haha.

The plus side of this product is the cleansing AND moisturizing effect it gives. I can now save my lotions for winter when I really need them, because this stuff leaves me moisturized with no greasy residue. My BF now no longer comments on my "girly layer," referring to the film usually left by my lotions and body butters during the summer. The Nutrium moisture is no joke. It really soaks in.

Love it. HG body wash until I get sick of the fragrance, and even then I'll probably just buy the pomegranate one.

I have now gone thru about 3 of these. I keep picking these up in Wal-Mart for about $5.50 for a pretty generously sized bottle. I started with the Sensitive Skin ones and now am using the scented ones, I am currently using the pomegrante scent and just picked up the nectarine one. I love these because they leave my skin feeling very soft and smooth. I have a real problem with my skin feeling tight and dry. I don't get flaky, just get a "tight" feeling on my skin. I don't get that feeling when I wash with these. The scents are light and not overwhelming. A little of this goes a long way. Doesn't leave the shower floor feeling slippery either, as some moisturizing shower gels do.

Great body wash. I use the sensitive skin version. For some reason, the regular sensitive skin dove body wash had a weird chemical scent I didn't like. This one just smells like clean soap--like the sensitive skin beauty bar. The formula is creamy, a little goes a long way, and my skin never feels dried out--even during coldest part of winter. I really like it and will probably use it every day for a long time to come.

I wanted to like this because it left my skin soft but it has caused my skin to break out. I'm not sure why, I have used plenty of moisturizing Dove body washes in the past and never broke out, but after eliminating and then adding back in this product again I narrowed it down to this. I'm sure it works well for some people though.

This is a great bodywash! It leaves my skin really soft and silky and I love that even during cold winter months if I don't have time to put on lotion my skin does not get itchy or scaly if I use this. My only problem is the packaging- the body wash is quite a thick cream and if you buy the large bottle it's difficult to squeeze out, I almost have to use two hands. I get nervous in the shower because I think I'm going to drop it on my feet.

I first got this as a sample at my derms office. It was the sensitive skin formula and Its a great everyday body wash. Cleans well with a body scrubber and the best thing about it is the natural, soft smell that lingers on your skin afterwards. I personally don't like washes that are too perfumed, so this is great if your looking for something simple but yet effective.

Just so-so. My skin, especially the skin on my legs, tends to get very dry. I am on the hunt for a body wash that leaves my skin moisturized without having to apply lotion or oil afterward every time. The cap is also sometimes difficult to open and the product is so thick that you need to give it several nudges to dispense, but because of the design of the cap you cannot store it on the cap to eliminate this problem. I thought this would be it, but I will have to continue my search. I will try the Johnson and Johnson 24-hour moisturizing body wash next.
