Notes: lavender, myrhh, amber, tolu balsam, resin, vanilla, nutmeg and peru balsam.
This fragrance opens with an interesting composition of resins and balms, the most notable being myrrh and tolu balsam. This balsam adds not only its vanilla-like smell, but also a spicy quality to the whole. Unlike other amber fragrances, this scent is remarkably quiet and well-balanced in its sweetness. On my skin the salty, resinous almost incense-y aspects prevail. The final stage of the fragrance is characterised by nutmeg which adds warmth to the dry down. Lasts for four hours on my skin.

What a discovery!
I have to say I love ambers for a start, but not all tun to be good on my skin; sometimes they turn sour, some others they turn siclky sweet.
Ambre Précieux turn just like... perfection.
It starts of like a medicine, I can smell pepper, but not too strong; and then some balsamic resins, like juniper or other woods give way to a powdery, sexy heart (=incense, very present) and a sexy drydown of ambergris.
It is really a sexy frag, very powdery, warm, but not overly feminine (therefore it could be worn my a man, too).
Not a lot of sillage - stays very close to skin, but you'll not ne able to stop smelling your wrists - decent lasting powder: probably one of the best ambers around!
_____________
notes as per Osmoz:
top: spicy notes
heart: Encens, Woody
base noes: Amber Gris, Balms

Beautiful bottle, beautiful amber juice. Great woody amber - romantic, warm, cozy, rich and smooth ....but..... a bit flat and masculine in the drydown (sorry everyone). A bit too pure an amber for me. I like a little something extra in my amber (floral, citrus) just to keep it soaring in the drydown. I thought AP was pretty close to perfect and then I discovered Vivienne Westwood 'Let it Rock' which is a little more feminine. This is still gorgeous but I don't think I could get away with it in summer. It's too warm and golden brown.

This is simply a perfect fragrance! Both my husband and I wear it and it marries with our different chemistries to serve up a beautiful warm and delicious scent. Truly, it makes my mouth water!
It has smelled fabulous on him since the day I bought it for him, better than Ambre Sultan by a mile! I am usually a heavy white floral gal, but one day when he was away and I was missing him I sprayed some Ambre Precieux on myself to comfort me till he returned and I soon realized that while it was similar to how it smelled on him, it smelled really really good on me too :)
And finally, a scent that lasts on me!!! Has some good sillage on my scent devouring skin!! I tell ya, it is all good with this one.

What glorious warm sweet woodsy amber !!! It has longevity and sillage. I love this stuff but not as much as I love Ava Luxe fragrances - so I will not give this a five. Maybe one day I will turn to this and wear it all the time. This could definitely be someone's HG fragrance though. It wears very well and is very smooth like a good cognac. Some websites say this is for men but I think it's definitely unisex. I have read some reviews elsewhere saying this is abit old fashioned ( more vintage, IMHO ! ) but I really don't think so . You wear this fragrance , it doesn't wear you and to me, that's a plus .Wearing fragrance is about making it your own in my eyes and this one does that.

A beautiful amber! I can smell the sweetness of the vanilla, but hardly any lavender. As others have said, it is creamy, and I can definitely see the similarity to caramels or butterscotch candy. It is absolutely not foody, though.

Perfect amber. Nothing more than a beautiful amber that's perfectly balanced and characteristicly harmonious to what an amber should be; warm, a little sweet and earthy. Doesn't go soapy or powdery like some ambers. Bravo MpG! It's precious indeed!

One of the best ambers I've ever tried. It's warm, sweet and cozy in the dry down, on my skin it's just perfect. Make sure you sample first though, for instance this one turned sour on my boyfriend for some reason. But overall, this is a must try for amber lovers. It felt like a softer version of Montale's Blue Amber. Gorgeous stuff. Notes include: myrtle, lavender, amber, vanilla, nutmeg, ambergris, peru balsam, tolu.

Amber heaven. Gorgeous, seductive amber perfection. And this comes from a gal who kisses her Ambra del Nepal and Ambre Narguile goodnight every night. Okay, not really...but I do love them. Now I must have a full bottle of this dangerous beauty. I think if I were to wear it to work one day I'd probably get a raise. Um...I'm talking finances....anyway, I might be the last amber lover to try this one, but if I'm not I urge those of you who haven't to order it immediately.

I love how spicy and creamy this amber is. A truly remarkable amber. Ambre Russe is a favourite of mine but this is up there too – so sweet and delicious. Rather more linear than Russe – and, I agree, somewhat masculine – but in the best way. Soapy, milky, spicy and musky scents tend to make me think of freshly washed men. Or man. It makes me think of my boyfriend somehow – not that he’s ever worn it, or indeed anything like it. This isn’t just any man either – Ambre Precieux – but a handsome man in a shirt with the top button open. It’s the smell of a warm man-neck. Excuse me whilst I daydream!
This fragrance is a gorgeous golden cloud. I didn’t know I liked it this much until I started writing about it.
It’s the nutmeg and lavender that’s doing it for me. Amazing.
I’d say this is very wearable by a woman. You’d have to wear it like you meant it, but it’s certainly female-friendly. It’s even summer-friendly I think, because of the cool lavender.
Versatile and delicious.

MPG Ambre Precieux is a wonderful *dry* amber with many other supporting notes, blends well with the musky/sandalwood of my skin chemistry. The later drydown of Ambre Precieux seemed a tad masculine to me, possibly due to the lavender and/or nutmeg.

I'm of two minds and noses about this one. It is a very nice, warm amber, good mix of amber-resin and ambergris effects, pleasant vanilla, with a swooning, transporting opening. On the other hand, after a few minutes, it hunches its shoulders, and meeps in upspeak. It rapidly becomes flat, muddled and wishy-washy, a pudgy teen dressed in unflattering brown clothes. Is my sample off?!? For her sake, I hope so.

I put I'd buy it again, but I can't really say if I'd buy this product again because I've never bought it, only bought the sample of it.
It's an absolutely gorgeous fragrance. Drats! Why does everything I like have to be so darn expensive????

My favorite amber for amber's sake. Beautiful and creamy--the embodiment of "golden." It's gorgeous on the skin--soft, velvetty, clean, warm and comforting. Though I wouldn't say it's at all foody, it strangely reminds me of those Brach's hard, cellophane-wrapped, butterscotch candies that have been around forever. Remember those? My grandpa used to keep them in his coat pockets for us to find when we were kids, so, for nostalgia alone, the connection it makes pulls at my heartstrings. Marvelously unisex, I think everyone can wear this. Though DH is more of a Santal Noble kind of guy, this is one I want for me--and if it rubs off on him, so much the better. ::wink:: I have a decant of this, but will *definitely* go for the full bottle when it runs out. A winner!

This is a very sexy amber equally suitable for a woman or a man.Maybe that's my problem with Ambre Precieux it smells extremely unisex.Like a product that needs to be totaly acceptable by everyone.still it's start is mostly masculine with the soft myrtle note, before it succumbs to a more woody amber, smooth with a hint of sweetnes.Still it lacks that extra something in my opinion

This is rich, yet dry. Amber with a touch of sandalwood and vanilla. It's so spicy at first that it almost makes me want to cry. Add a little smokiness and MPG Ambre Precieux would be perfection...as it stands, it's about as close as it comes. This is a masculine amber - it takes no prisoners and it manages to be deep and pure without overwhelming. Go ahead and read my other reviews - I may have and just might will call another amber perfection, but rest assured I'll be lying. BUY THIS. Price tag and not so amazing packaging notwithstanding, this is the amber to beat them all. Absolutely sublime.

A frag that's rich and creamy, with notes of amber, vanilla, and wood. Although it's marketed to men, I think it can easily be considered a shared fragrance. Very long lasting& top notch quality, but I prefer L'Artisan's Ambre Extreme.

I loved the scent--it is a warm, vanilla-and-something-else amber. Good staying power. But I find Lutens' Ambre Sultan and Attar Bazaar's Persian Amber more interesting, with comprable lasting power. And those are both much cheaper. If It were under 60$ I'd give it a 5, but I'm knocking of 1.5 stars for the price and .5 stars for the packaging, which I find too gaudy, verging on tacky. (I like the bottles without the faceted caps)
