NC25 Chinese, more black than brown hair as slightly lightened by AZ sun.
Lingering is too much unnatural brown for crayon-ing in my sparse backend brow. My NC30 sister with brown-black hair (works in the AZ sun almost every day) immediately stole it away.
Stud is the blackish version but the MAC SA preferred my Shu Seal Brown pencil instead. Nice honesty.

Got it today....I actually went to get Spiked, after reading all the reviews, but this color suits me better !
I have light brown hair and this color is a natural good match !. Applies great! Doesnt smudge!
Now the only thing left is getting the right shape for my face...still studyig blogs and youtube !

I find that many brown eyebrow pencils are too warm or red in tone, making them look fake against the skin. Not this. It's a neutral (or perhaps slightly cool) light-ish brown that looks really, really natural. It's a perfect match for light to medium brown hair. I also wore it when my hair was red and blonde.
I love Mac Eyebrows. The consistency is great, doesn't smudge, and you don't ever have to sharpen them. They're my HG eyebrow make-up and I repurchase again and again.
The only downside is you can't see how much you have left. I once ran out while on holiday, so I now always take a new one with me when I go away.

NW13 naturally, N20-25 from a bottle : ) Gray eyes. Color season is True Summer.
I have this brow crayon in both Fling and Lingering. I think it is a decent, no-brainer crayon that does not swing too far red and is decently pigmented yet natural looking. However, you get such a small amount of product for the price and if you use it every day, you will run out soon. I think I used mine up every 2-3 months when used daily. Drugstore alternatives will annoy you because the shades are redder and off in color, but do yourself a favor and just use brow powder or eye shadow. MAC Wedge and Omega seem to be similar. It's not worth the price to keep refilling these, even though they are convenient.

This brow pencil is great to fill in brow hairs. I find that I usually have to use Anastasia Brow Powder Duo underneath. So, this product is more of a finishing touch. That sort of bothers me, as I don't always have time for multiple steps. And for the price, I prefer something that works by itself. For this reason, I haven't been reaching for this pencil much since I got it 4 months ago.
The pencil is very slim. The Lingering color matches my dirty blonde hair. The color payoff is great as well. It lasts all day without a budge. Very pigmented.
Overall, I do recommend this product for those seeking perfect brows. If you are looking for one-step process, this is probably not the product for you. As for me, I enjoy having this pencil around. I will not be repurchasing though.

LOVING this eyebrow pencil from MAC...
I've had a fair amount of trouble finding a brow product that does what I want (I'm not asking for much!) - to subtly fill in light patches and help shape. Finding the right colour has also been tricky, most are either too dark, or oddly enough, too red.
This pencil however, is marvellous! It's the perfect colour (for me), and I imagine it would suit many shades of brunette, and has no irritating reddish tinge... the consistency is lovely: not too soft, dark, or overpowering, and not too hard and light. It it quite easy to manipulate and control thanks to the small tip and being in pencil form.
As usual it's MAC's simplistic and slick packaging... this pencil is one where you twist to reveal the pencil - usually I strongly dislike twist pencils, but this one has a small tip so you never have to think about sharpening/shaping, and twists in such small increments that it is really easy to control.
I am SO happy I gave this pencil a try and will definitely be repurchasing when I run out!

If you are like me, NC20-25, do not have much eyebrow hair (I pluck out mine because of bad shape, so I really only have the beginning part of my eyebrows), this is the BEST eyebrow pencil on the market. I have tried DIOR (only one shade and it is too light), LANCOME (quality is very good and more shades, but color match is not good for me), Maybelline (too soft).
Mac's LINGERING is the best for several reasons: It is good for filling the brows, and also for drawing them completely! It is just hard enough not to be too difficult to draw on, and not soft at all so it won't smudge or melt! It lasts ALL DAY and won't fade. Also won't make your skin irritated or itchy. The color is amazing - it matches perfectly, is not too brown (thus making you look old), not black (also too strong), and not grey (looks weird) either! It is just a perfect balance of grey/brown and makes your brows look so natural. 5 STARS. Will never use another one.
The only drawback is that the packaging is retractable so I never know when it's almost over so I can repurchase and not leave the house without done eyebrows!

My favourite thing ever for eyebrows , great for filling them in perfect color for my dark eyebrows ! It's my HG product ! The price is grand for what you get :) I like the packaging but I do wish you could see when it's running out so you know when to repurchase one

I'm always on the lookout for something new for my brows, and had been hearing good things about this, so I decided to pick it up and give it a go... Glad I did! It did tend to photograph lighter than it seemed in person, so as someone with dark hair it looked a little too light... May try the next shade up next time! It was not too red though, which was great, and lasted a surprisingly long time... That said, I didn't like that there was no way of knowing how much product was left, and it took a fair amount of strokes to build it up to the desired "look". In general though, despite my few complaints, I liked it! It doesn't retract though, so do mind you don't twist it up too much.

I have been going through a searcg lately for the perfect brow product. It seems that every brown pencil, powder or gel I have purchased has a warm undertone to it, I do not want a warm or reddish undertone, it is actually pretty difficult to find a neutral or ash color to wear.
I ordered this product online without seeing it in person, I figured if it wasn't right I could always justify a visit to a MAC counter to return it. I was torn between Fling and Lingering. I studied swatches online, I read and reread the descriptions on the MAC website and after seeing Lisa Eldridges brown tutorial I decided Lingering would be the best bet for me. Though my hair is a light brown with red highlights I was worried about going too light with Fling. Turns out Lingering is perfect.
Lingering does not have warm undertones, it is actually quite neutral, so I think it would work for anyone looking for a light to medium brown color. The color is darker than my brows, but with a very light hand you can use this product and it creates very realistic looking brow hairs. Your brows do not look drawn in or colored in, it is really nice. Others have complained about the twist up style of this pencil, I have not twisted this up too far, just be careful when you twist for more product because the pencil does not retract. I ordered the Veluxe brow liner at the same time, which I will also review, however I think this product is much better and more natural looking.
