A nice gentle milk cleanser. I have combination skin which is prone to an oily T-zone and dryness on my cheeks and jawline in winter, so I wanted a moisturising cleanser that would mend my dry patches without being so rich that it would make my T-zone more oily.

This seems to strike a nice balance which is often very difficult with combination skin. My dry patches are less flaky since using this product for a couple of weeks, and my skin looks softer.

I would use this in winter and probably avoid it in summer.

The scent is not great but I can live with it.

The only major downside for me is that it doesn't remove makeup very well, so I can only really use this as a "morning" cleanser when I'm not trying to remove makeup or when I'm cleansing for the second time after I've removed all of my makeup with a different cleanser.

Overall not a bad product.

Absolutely love this cleansing milk, can really feel the difference betweent this and other cleansers which are more chemically and often leave a sting. I have dry sensitive skin and this works beautifully, almost cushions and does leave skin feeling soft does exactly what it says it will! I al glad to find a gentle cleanser that doesnt make me have to slather on a heap of moisturiser afterwards, smooths beautifully.

I love this cleanser, it's perfect with the Clarins Toning Lotion w/ Camomile. Leaves your skin soft and supple. I use this in the morning as it's a very gentle cleanser and then use the foaming cleanser at night to remove all my makeup. Highly recommend this product!

This is my favorite cleanser of all time. I have dry, acne-prone, sensitive skin (very problematic skin!). I wear a pretty thick layer of makeup everyday, so getting it all off is a difficult task. I first use the water comfort peach cleanser, then follow up by massaging this alpine milk cleanser into my skin. I have tried the clarins method before where you use your fingers sort of like suction cups on your face, but I really don't think it's as effective as just gently rubbing the milk cleanser into your skin. Sometimes I remove with a damp towel, or if there are no clean towels around I just rinse off with warm water. I find both methods to be equally effective. The reason I love this product is because afterwards my skin feels so refreshed like I just got out of a facial. I love the smell, and I love how it makes my skin feel rejuvenated. Honestly, sometimes I use this when I just want to feel relaxed. That to me is the sign of a great product.

I love Clarins in general. I have sensitive/dry skin. I got they Foaming Clenser and it dried my skin out big time (even though it was recommended for dry skin. No foaming stuff for me anymore!) Anyhow, I switched to this one, and oh gosh, it is sooo much nicer, soft, gentle, smells wonderful! I do something odd though, I massage it in, and rinse it off with warm water, because I don`t like the tissue off idea, to make sure it doesn`t leave a residue on my skin. And it doesn`t, so I am very happy! Not drying at all! And it is really not that expensive, $30 and this bottle last a long time. :-))))))))))

This cleanser is very cushioning, smooth, creamy and comforting. Its a bit on the oily side but I don't mind as I have dry skin. It has a pleasant fragrance and is not too expensive.

I just received a HUGE sample of this as a gift with purchase. I suppose this is a preliminary review as I've only used it twice. In my opinion, "The Clarin's Method" could not possibly remove all of one's makeup AND cleanse the skin. Maybe their method would work better for the morning. My nighttime cleansing routine is to first break down makeup by allowing cold cream to sink in and carefully tissue off. I then rinse my face and massage this cleansing milk into my skin for a bit before rinsing clean. It seems to work well for my dry, acne prone skin this way.

I normally use the Clarins Foaming Cleanser but found it to be a little too drying for winter. I switched to this and my skin loves it! It is nice and creamy but doesn't leave my skin feeling slimy after rinsing. Thumbs up!!!

I have very sensitive skin and though I really wanted this cleanser to work on me, unfortunately it broke me out big time.

It does do a great job at cleaning your skin, it really removes all your make up and feels soft and gentle on your skin. This would be a perfect cleanser if you have dry skin.

This cleanser is perfect for my dry combination skin which is feeling the effects of the colder winter weather and the ravages of central heating. I have tried the 'Clarins method' as described in the information sheet that came with the product but I find the cleanser thickens up and becomes quite luxurious just by massaging into the skin well. It removes all makeup and impurities thoroughly without stripping my skin of any necessary oils. This is quite an expensive product but I am hoping I will not have to repurchase in the near future!

For this kind of brand, the package is really cheap. It would had be better a pump or something like that. I found this cleanser pretty average, nothing great and is pricier than others. It has to be used with the "Clarins´ cleansing method" but I didn´t find this any better than rubbing your face with any milky cleanser. It lives an oily cast but does not clog pores or makes my skin break out, after all I have dry skin so this didn´t bother me at all. The botlle last for ages, didn´t dry out my skin and make sure to use the toner to remove te excess of product. In conclusion, it does the job, but you can find something similar for half the price, I won´t repurchase.

This is an underrated cleanser, I think. There's nothing glamorous about its packaging or its touted benefits; it just does what it does. And to me, it does it very well. My skin is combination oily, dehydrated, prone to blackheads, and recently became more sensitive than it used to be. It took a turn for the worse this Fall and became super tight, super shiny, and was so sensitive I didn't even want to touch my skin. I think it was also partly my fault because I went back to a foaming cleanser a while back, and that really screwed things up. I really ought to listen to my gut, my research, and my beautician and stay away from foaming cleansers! But what can a girl do when she's a skincare junkie :P So even though I have combination oily skin, this cleanser works for me and it was the only thing that saved my skin since the weather turned cold. I've cleansed using the "Clarins way", but find that gentle circular motions with damp hands on a damp face does the job better. I highly doubt this is good enough on its own for make-up, so I double cleanse with a cleansing oil followed by this milk. Doesn't dry me out, and leaves my skin plump and clean. Would totally re-purchase!

Love this cleanser during the winter and have purchase several times already. Doesn't dry me out and and leaves my skin perfectly balanced after washing. Not too crazy about the packing though and would prefer a pump or something as it gets hard to get it out toward the bottom. It is not too cheap but it does last awhile. Overall a keeper for me.

I have been using this clenser for about ten years and nothing compares to it. I have tried other as i thought something cheaper give it ago but i always go back to this one. Its very good if you have dry skin. I always wash my face to take my makeup off i dont not beleive in using wipes or clensers to remove makeup. Once i have washed my face i apply this with my hands and sooth over then with my hands i apply them flat to my face and pull away. Then with a cotton wool pad i wipe off what ever residue is left. Then i apply my clarins toner works like magic. The smell is also amazing.

I love Clarin's Cleansing Milk With Alpine Herbs. This gently clenses my face most thoroughly and leaves my skin feeling nourished, soft, silky and calmed.
Thisproduct has the most ODD application instructions: apply to the palms of one's hands then use in a cup like motion over one's face and neck. Wel, I've tried that and it works o.k. in removing makeup, dirt, oil, etc and leaves my sking nice and soft. On the other hand, if I aplly this to my face and then scrub in a circular motion with my palms and fingers (as I do with most cleansers) it works even better.
I do love Clarins Cleansing Milk in that it leaves my skin feeling soft and silky. It calms my skin nicely when I have don (or perhaps over-done) home micro-dermabrsion systems, in the a.m. after Retin-a, when my skin is just feeling dry and tight or irritated. This is my go-to cleansing milk for those moments.
Will I buy it again, definately....well worth the price, which, by the way, is not all that high at about $20 - $25 for a 7 ounce bottle depending on where one shops (try Marshalls/Kohl's/Macy's)

I should say this isn't the kind of cleanser I would ever pick up honestly, mainly because it’s made specifically for dry skin and mine is combination to oily depending on the time of year. I suffer from spots occasionally but also get dry patches on my cheeks – so a whole range of problems!

Anyway, I got it by chance from a friend who was moving and trying to get rid of stuff she didn’t use. I couldn’t believe how well it worked for my skin! It doesn’t leave any horrible residue like some moisturising cleansers and never leaves me with a tight feeling. It’s gentle and my skin is left clean and smooth. It removes makeup very well too. I always cleanse twice but I find 90% of my makeup is gone within the first cleanse. When I went to repurchase I was actually happily surprised by the price. I think £16 is pretty reasonable for a high end brand – maybe it’s just that I was worried it would be £20-£25? 200ml is a fair amount of product for the price too.

I use this in addition to my Avene extremely gentle cleanser and my skin has drastically (no, really DRASTICALLY!) improved since the days of using just wipes. I really can't think of a down side to this product so I guess there’s a first time for everything! Hope this review was helpful to some of you :)

this cleanser is very soft. i use it for heavy make-up, it cleans my skin absolutely ok.
it is very easy to rinse off with water, which is important to me, don`t like to rub for ages to get off the silicone-oil feeling.
it leaves just the right amount of oil on the skin so i don`t have to use skincare immediately.
it gives a smooth skin, no dry feeling and fresh scent.

I am a believer in soft ways, even for oily skin.
I have been using this for one year so far, I have tried other products but none has met my expectations like this one.
It is awesome to remove make up around the eyes!

Since I have oily skin I use it to remove make-up only: a gentle acne wash follows up to remove residues that could clog my pores. Thanks goodness it doesn't contain Paraffinum Liquidum or other horrors that many upscale brands still use.

The smell is aromatic and particular.
