I just talked with MAC Cosmetics when I attempted to buy this and was told it is officially discontinued! I am more than sad as I have worn it for probably 10 years. Really hoping this is reconsidered and MV1 makes another appearance! For someone who finds most perfumes kind of overwhelmingly strong, this was a perfect vanilla-floral scent. Please reconsider MAC!
UPDATE: When trying to track down the last bottles of MV1, a sale associate told me that MAC might be coming out with a new rollerball version of MV1. Lot's of rumours but hoping this one is true!

The notes of bergamot, lilies, white jasmine, vanilla, milk cream musk and sandalwood intrigued me quite a lot, as I love anything vanilla florals and anything milky. On first spray, it's too strong for me. The lilly is very overpowering and takes a good few minutes to calm down. However, the dry down is a lot nicer - I smell vanilla, milk cream musk and jasmine. It's very girly and fresh, great for everyday wear as it isn't offensive or anything. The lasting power isn't that good though, which is a shame seeing as it's nearly £20 for 20ml. My HG fragrance is MV2 by MAC, which is essentially the same as this minus the floral notes. I'd probably repurchase this.

This is definitely one of my favorite fragrances. I've gone through several bottles & will continue to repurchase. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the scent has been described as "a blend of bergamot, lilies, white jasmine, vanilla, milk cream musk, sandalwood." It doesn't smell especially floral to me, but "milk cream musk" makes perfect sense, since I've always thought of this scent as "creamy" and dessert-like ... think vanilla ice cream or creme brulee. When I wear this, I've had people tell me I smell like baked goods (They meant it as a compliment :). For me, this has great staying power & a single spray actually lasts all day. However - I only wear this scent in the fall/winter, because it's a little too intense for hot/humid weather.

I bought this from the MAC site since they were offering free 2-day shipping... I have to say I was a tiny bit disappointed since I was reading reviews here and a lot of them mention 'vanilla' or 'musk' or 'soft'. This fragrance starts out promising with a sharp citrus intro but once it dries down I swear it smells exactly like the old fragrance 'Jungle Gardenia' !! It's not bad at all, just very thick and flowery. I don't pick up any musk at all in this scent... and on me it lasts for hours...

I'm indifferent to this fragrance. It has a nice opening, a little sweet, and turns into a muted lily, sandalwood, vanilla musk. It's all very blended and takes on a somewhat powdery aspect on my skin. I heard someone say it reminded them of Victoria's Secret Heavenly, and I agree (I think that fragrance is only so-so as well). Not a dupe, mind you, but I did recognize it in there, and I think they have very similar characteristics. Lasting power was what I consider average: 2-3 hours.

Love MV1!!! I bought this when MAC was having their 25% off sale so I went solely based on customer reviews and hoped I would like it. I'm so excited about it. It smells very similar to Hanae Morai (sp) but for a fraction of the price! Its long lasting and very sensual smelling. Love the fact that I can get two MAC fragrances for less than the price of one department store scent.

No, I just couldn't live with this one. It was nice and I wanted to like it. But something just didn't meld together for me and it got worse after I'd worn it for a while. I had to take this back. Sorry, hope it works for others but didn't for me.

I'm at the last few drops of this, and will be purchasing again, for sure! On me, this lasts all day and then some.. and it smells great with a little spritz behind your neck/hair. :) It's a vanilla floral, not sweet like candy.. and it's both warm and cool at the same time. I've gotten "you smell good!" comments while wearing this, so that's enough to let me know to continue. :) It's a little "bitey" at first, but after a couple of minutes, it becomes subtle and soft. Some days, it can become slightly powdery on me (thanks to PMS!), so I avoid it on those days. The bottle is excellent for travel/purse.. as it's both small (only comes in 1 oz.), and kind of flat. I think this retails for about $22.50, if I'm not mistaken.

I feel in love with this when I was at the MAC counter searching for a new e/s. The SA had it on and it smelled heavenly. Not obnoxious and overpowering. It is simple and classy. I get compliments from both women and men. I agree with some reviews below that it has no staying power. The price isn't ridiculous, however I am disappointed that it's no longer available in the bigger size.

I do love my vanillas, and I was expecting a milky one in MV1. To my happy surprise I noticed a top note of wintergreen, not like wintergreen gum, but sweet wintergreen leaves that grow in northern woods. This scent is one that matches well with vanilla, and although wintergreen is not a mentioned note in MV1 it's the strongest thing I smell. Sadly, the wintergreen doesn't last and the dry down is the milky vanilla I expected. This fragrance is sweet but not in a candy or pastry way. The vanilla scent is similar to that of warm milk with a bit of vanilla extract in it. I don't find this fragrance very wearable, but I do enjoy sniffing it from the bottle from time to time. It's also very cheap!

Oh wow am I pleasantly surprised! I never really thought of trying the MAC perfumes before just because I wasn't expecting much from them. Then as I was browsing through the MAC website, I stumbled upon their perfume page, and from the descriptions I thought I might like the MV2 and MV3 scents. I went to the MAC counter, and absolutely hated both of them. Then I grabbed the MV1 bottle, and wow, it smelled like a vanilla floral scent which is normally what I gravitate towards. It is not too ligt and not heavy, just a pretty, casual and easy to wear scent. I know people complain about the small size, but I actually wish all perfume companies made small sizes, that way I can buy a bigger variety without spending much on each! there are just way tooo many perfumes that I would like to buy!!

Great scent. It is a nice floral but has zero staying power---even with the affordable price tag I would not repurchase. I've had body splashes that have lasted longer.

I only sense a very thin, cool vanilla in MV1 blended with a slightly dominant lily of the valley. A very lighthearted scent with nothing woody or musky about it at all - not on me, anyhow. It's light and it's pretty and I might suggest someone else give it a test drive, especially since the price is good... but I won't be adding MV1 to my collection. No sale.

From the website:
"Light, clean, fresh and girly. A frolicky fusion of bergamot, lilies, white jasmine, vanilla, milk cream musk and sandalwood create a flirty, feminine green fragrance."
Light? Clean? Fresh? GREEN?!? Oh no, not on my skin. I sprayed it on and for a few minutes it smelled just like Soul by Curve which I already own. Then, the top floral notes quickly vanished into the atmosphere, the vanilla stuck around barely 10 minutes and then all that was left was the musk and sandalwood -for 10 + hours. On my skin it smelled just like Nemat International White Musk, or Krishna Musk if you are familiar with any of those. I already own those two musks. I like it, but it is not what I expected from the notes and the reviews on P'ville. MV1 is sexy musky stuff on me, but as I've been saying, I already have many fragrances just like it.

I love this fragrance! When I wear it, I just can't stop sniffing my wrist! And I've gotten many compliments on it from both men and women. It's a beautiful combination of flowers (I pick up mainly the lily) and vanilla, mixing warm and cool. The flowery part is more noticeable right after application but fades a bit (in a good way) over time, leaving a warmer, more vanilla-y smell. Very nice.

I absolutely love this fragrance. I was in the MAC store just idly sniffing the samples when suddenly I found this. It was love at first sniff. So light, flirty and heavenly!

Probably my favorite of the MAC fragrance line - as others mentioned, very light, girlish, and floral... but not without versatility. I can see this on young girls; I can see this on older women as well. It has a very "lovely" feel to it and immediately conjures up florals to my mind. The packaging (the "white" of the MAC fragrances) ties in well with the delicate yet musky overtones of the perfume as well. Certainly a very "clean" scent, but luckily, unlike many popular "clean" scents right now, it's not too generic (in my opinion). I can pretty much smell all the not6es - bergamot, lilies, white jasmine, vanilla, milk cream musk and sandalwood - and the result is a fragrance for many, many occasions: Everyday, dates, work, school... you name it!

The only problem I have with this fragrance is that they don't make it in a larger size! It's soooo beautiful and pretty inexpensive. To me it smells like vanilla and honeysuckles. I'm always worried that M.A.C. will discontinue this!

IF and whenever I can find this product again, I will def. be buying it. I am told it has been discontinued. Figures...I have been searching for years for my sig. fragrance, finally found it, and it's going to be hard to find. But everything about it I love. Great for day use. I love a soft vanilla/musky fragrance during the day, but this also has some kind of *kick* to it...maybe some kind of spice or herbal scent underneath. Whatever it is, it WORKS, and this scent ROCKS. I LOVE IT!
