This product comes in a nice color that looks natural in the bottle. Upon putting it on however it oxidizes and makes the skin turn orange. This happened to a lot of reviewers so I suspect it has something to do with the formula. I observed it made my pores look larger and it is hard to blend. This is a foundation that looks more like a mask.

I really like this stuff! I'm extremely fair skinned with neutral undertones, spider veins, oily t-zone and enlarged pores. As you can imagine, it's hard to find a good foundation!

pros:
-doesn't accentuate my pores
-controls my oil better than most...I've tried a ton.
-cheap
-not a heavy coverage, but makes my skin ONE EVEN COLOR <3

cons:
-a little dark for my skin but can be fixed with a lighter powder
-oxidizes (like most)

This foundation looks really cakey and not smooth at all. Although cakey, somehow doesn't seem to cover much but just make it look worse. Even though it is cheap, I'd say save up a few extra dollars and get a Covergirl one.

The price is unbelievable for the quality and packaging for this product. Okay so its not MAC or Lancome- but neither is it $30 + !! I paid a whooping $4.99 for oil-free and it delivered. The only thing was the color was a bit off. I haven't been tanning so the "ivory" is still a bit "chalky" but the other option didn't look right either. I opted for the ivory and just dusted some very light bronzer over it. Whoala!~ For the price- I cannot complain. The dispenser puts out a bit too much product for me and I wasted a whole lot with one pump- so I have to really just barely touch the pump; otherwise- its a steal of a deal.

I tried MANY foundations using Makeup Alley reviews. After testing every single one at Sephora, I still did not feel that any of them worth $40. So I tried Almay with terrible results. Almay line smoothing makeup balls on my face unless I put something like Dermalogica Barrier Repair or another ahydrous solution (like oil). Also it comes in glass bottle and you need to shake it out. Other Almay products were so dry, I returned them back. Finally I read about Jane products. Yes, RiteAid is the only store carrying them . I tried Be Pure Mineral and it was just fine, has smooth feel and blends well. However, it was a bit too sheer for my taste. Also, you need to choose darker color than you normally would. Then I tried this Oil-Free.
Pluses: It provides much better coverage, it comes in a small cure bottle easy to take on airplanes, it has a miniature pump, and only a drop is required on each side .
Minuses: It takes some smoothing, as it does not blends right away,

This is a great makeup for $4.25! Get the darkest color. I am very light skinned, and still the darkest works the best.

Tip: Blend with moisturizer! About a minute after you put your moisturizer on and your face is still pretty clamy/dewy, blend this foundation on it and it makes it have a satin glide to it. It's a good backup foundation.

I purchased this at Rite-Aid, which to my knowledge is the only drugstore/retailer that seems to carry Jane products. Plus tax, this foundation was about $4. I gravitate to oil-free liquid foundations because I have a semi-oily t-zone. This foundation works better than NARS' oil-free liquid foundation, which retails for $42 plus tax I believe. I use the lightest shade and I'm always pleased with how seamlessly it works on my skin especially when applied after moisturizer and primer. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a quality oil-free foundation. I'm so impressed with this product; it beat out NARS foundation!

I wish Jane was still $3 and less...it used to be made like that. It's still cheap considering it's drugstore makeup, but I consider it a leg up from wet and wild cosmetics (ugh). Anyway, I have to admit that this line is one of the VERY few foundations that actually match my olive complexion...in other words, it doesn't make me look pink or ashy! Unlike other foundations that are much more expensive and are either too light/dark/pink on me. I swear, the moment I put on the foundation, it completely matched my skin. Why is this the case? Anyway, it provides light coverage and does the job. It's probably not long-lasting as other, more expensive brands, but really you get what you pay for. I'm still a fan...would much rather wear this than Bare Minerals.

The quality of this foundation pretty much matches the price of it. I got the beige color, which may be the wrong color of me, but looked fine when i tried it on in the drugstore. When i got home to try it, it was absolutely terrible. The color is just the weirdest shade I've ever seen, and i cant imagine it actually matching anyone's skin tone. It dries really fast while you put it on, which tends to make spreading and blending difficult. If you want to actually cover up any imperfections with this, you have to go over it a bunch of times which just makes for a cakey mess- yuck! Also, this foundation does not hold up to water, sweat, or any kind of moisture, as it will melt right off your face.I found this foundation awful and i do not recommend it.

I rarely use foundation, most days I use Jane's Nearly Foundation TM or Jane's AguaCeuticals TM, but for special occasions when I want more coverage, this is my go to foundation. I own probably every drugstore brand of foundation, and several high end ones, and this is my fave. It's natural looking, and applies like a dream, and doesn't make my oily skin worse. This, as with all of Jane's fantastic products, does not break out my very breakout prone skin, which almost always happens when I wear foundations. I use the darkest shade, which is not very dark (IMO), but it's nice and neutral (no pink), so it works for my summer tanned skin. Pump packaging is very convenient, and it's cute! Jane has sadly been discontinued in many stores, but I have found it at Rite Aid and some Meijers. Just stock up when you find it, and pray that Jane Cosmetics will bounce back from their financial troubles and remain present in the cosmetics industry.

Color 03, Bisque, is the closest foundation color that I've ever worn. Going on, it looks like a second version of my skin, just more even. It is not too pink, not too orange and not too yellow. I can't believe I actually found a color that is neutral! I don't want to go back to the other brands that match my skin less and break it out more.

The coverage is excellent without being heavy and it is easy to blend with a little moisturizer or a spritz of water. I also liked the pump dispenser. I feel that it keeps the product more sanitary, and it also makes a little bit go a long, long way. As a result, Jane Oil-Free Foundation lasts months longer even as it eliminates the possibility of applying too much and wasting product. The pump mechanism is very well designed. You can get just a smidgen out to cover a blemish or a full depression to dot the entire face. What makes this method of dispensing especially useful is that you can count the number of dispenses that result in the desired coverage level so that the amount of foundation you wear doesn't differ from day-to-day. You can't be this precise with products that dispense differently.

Whoever said the consistency of this foundation is runny and the color is ashen had it dead wrong, IMHO. All of the light to medium colors I have seen, including my own, are incredibly balanced and natural looking. You can turn the jar upside down and it will not run like milk. You have to give it a good shake prior to application like any other foundation. At the same time, it is not overly thick, which is exactly what you want if you don't want your makeup to streak or look painted on. I can't emphasize enough that this is THE BEST drugstore formula I have ever owned bar none. This foundation may not wear quite as long as some of the pricier brands that contain an oil base, but then those brands tend to break me out and don't match as well. As oil-free foundations go, Jane can't be beat. The only reason I can imagine to knock this product at all would be if I had a much darker skin tone. Jane doesn't carry a broad selection of shades, but they do carry a decent variety of lighter shades when compared to cosmetic companies that try to be all things to all people.

Now for the bad news. The Jane website says that Walmart and Walgreens carries this product. However, all the Walgreens and Walmarts in my area have discontinued the entire Jane product line. I'm not sure if it will be available in the US for much longer at this rate. Rite-Aid is the only place I can sometimes find these, and again the selection is limited. Worse, the Jane cosmetic line is not even prevalent online. Drugstore.com, another retailer listed on the Jane website, carries only a fraction of Jane cosmetics, and this "Oil-Free Face Makeup" as Jane calls this product, is not among them (as of this writing). This makes me very sad. I've never had a makeup product that I liked so well and my rating attests to that. I will almost never give a perfect rating to any product.

If there are others who have tried Jane products and liked one or more of them, by all means write a review and tell a friend. Products like this won't stick around for long if they remain a best-kept secret.

Okay...I am all about finding a great product at an amazing price and this product meets the criteria. For starters it provides great coverage. Dries very quickly so blend fast. Oil -free so it won't clog your pores. The bottle is awesome because it has a little pump (you never pump out too much) I bought this from a Walgreens when it was buy one get one free, and I will for sure be buying it again. I have tried several foundations and this honestly works just as well as some of the pricer counter-parts.

I bought this because it was super cheap. The shade matched my skin nicely and the liquid blended well. However, the coverage is quite sheer and did not even out my skin tone well. It also tends to get shiny throughout the day. It's not a horrible foundation, but not one that I will buy again.

I was too pale for the lightest shade, but I don't mind because the consistency is runny, the color is ashy, and it's a bad foundation anyway.

Great color match and loved the pump. Price was great too. But, left me oily and totally caked and disappeared from my face by mid day. Luckily it was only about $3.

The beige color matched me PERFECTLY. i don't think this has ever happened before. ever. it can be a little drying and will show all your little flakies but small price to pay for such a small price to pay (sorry bad joke). i will definitely buy this again and again.

I like this foundation a lot. I have Ivory and it matches my pale cool toned complexion. It is pinky toned and didnt turn orange on me. Its fairly sheer but honestly I like that. I applied it with a damp sponge and set with translucent powder and it covered exactly how I wanted it too...not mask like not heavy but just enough. Since its oil free (obviously) I can wear moisturizer underneath and not have my foundation go on funny or be super oily at any point in the day. No breakouts from this yet. I'd rebuy.

Bah!

I could not get this foundation to work. I was totally in love with the price tag and square bottle (Complete with a decent pump!) The color looked promising in the store too!

I applied this with my beloved SK brush and the results were passable in dim artificial lighting. Not much coverage and the color was a touch too dark after prolonged wear but, overall, passable.

It was much harder to wear in natural daylight. It really brought out my pores and looked slick. Not dewey, not oily either - but rather... wet. It wasn't a very good base to lay powder on, which is unforgivable given its pore-enlarging properties.

The color also oxidized noticably, going from a subtle ivory to peachy-orange in under fifteen minutes.
