Really great to help fix up eyeliner, or to define it a bit. Doesn't smudge a lot, it a bit powder so it can fling around on your face but overall good color.

Efficient black shadow, long-lasting, cheap, stays put, tub lasts forever, Canadian. I use it when i'm bothered to do a better eye than the basic black-eyeliner rocker thing. This brand is underrated.

This color is a matte black. I often use this color overtop of a black pencil eyeliner to help seal it. I would definitely repurchase and recommend this product.

This is a great product. I love annabelle eye-shadows and have most of the potted ones (they go on sale for just a few dollars at shoppers drugmart every few months and I just love to pick up a few each time). I've never had a problem with the eyeshadow creasing or particles falling during wear. I found that if you want a very opaque black, just add some sort of a cream base (I've used the NYX jumbo eye pencil in a dark metalic grey and when I put the black annabelle eyeshadow over it, it comes out looking as black as it does in the pot).

I will definitely buy this product again when I run out.

This product is great. I don't wear black eye shadows so I use this more as an eyeliner to create a smokey kind of eye look. The color is great and doesn't come out as gray. I depotted this e/s and it probably fit perfectly in a mac palette if you put a magnet underneath the pan... but I only have a coastal scent palette and it's perfect. I don't even have to add a magnet underneath. I'm in heaven!

I dont wear much eyeshadow ither then the typical basic browns and blacks. This eyeshadow i decided to try after my black ran out on my pallet set. I really was happy with the results
The product itself was very pigmented in my point of view. It glided well on my eye and stayed put throughout the day with usually no base. It also is excellent eyeshadow for under eye areas, for very rarely the pigment would fall underneath my eye making it look more tired. This was a nice little feature and made this eyeshadow more memorable.
The price was pretty good, i wouldn't say it was the best. Ive found eye shadows at the drug store for a lower price range and still good product quality. Although, if i was ever running low on this i would definitely consider running to the store and picking one up.
The packaging is quite similar to MAC's packaging which i do like. It also almost comes in the same amount! Its like your own personal MAC eyeshadow on the corner store!
Overall, im very pleased with the results of this product. I know some have said the colour pay off is ok, but i think its just enough of a colour to make it edgy and at the same time can be natural as well. I would definitely suggest this to someone who wants MAC quality eyeshadow for half the price. I cant wait to try other colours in this brand.

I don't think I have ever tried any other black eyeshadow except Annabelles #58, now that it is almost empty I think I might try Mac since it is raved about but I definitely enjoyed Annabelles, only thought the black wasn't as dark as I wanted.

this can depot into a mac palette so thats good. this is pigmented and easy to blend but not as pigmented as mac shadows. but this beautiful if you just need a little black in the outer v. perfect for daytime not good for really dramatic black looks. and i find really dramatic dark looks close off my eye area and make my eyes look small so this actually perfect for me.

I dont know if this is the one i have, but I have a matte black eyeshadow in Ebony (from the collection with the pan eyeshadows) and they have the same color in the pots too. Anyhow, i cant use this as an eyeshadow on its own as a black. its not pigmented enough. turns out gray, and doesnt blend very well.

I do however, use this to set my eyeliner everyday, so i guess its not really that big of a waste of money. =)

Sorry but I'm not impressed with this product. It didn't stay on long and it creased! It also ended up under my eyes so I looked like raccoon. I think i will invest in a more expensive eyeshadow next time to ensure it stays on.

Super great shadow to create smokey eyes. Put some in the crease, blend, and voila! Pretty blendable too. Only problem is that it feels a bit chalky. Matte black shadow is a definite must!

it's a great and well-pigmented matted black e/s.
i use it as an eyeliner with my eyeliner brush
(i use visine to wet the e/s).

i haven't tried it to do a smokey eye look.
but i love annabelle's quality and matte black e/s is a staple :)

UPDATE: after using it for awhile (and comparing it to other black e/s), this one is a bit chalky and less-pigmented. Great for a soft/daytime smokey look, but definitely not for a dramatic one.

Unfortunately this was a disappointment for me. I grabbed it not expecting much then I read the reviews here and was soo excited to try it. I opened the packaging and sorry but it was crap. Maybe I just got a bad one but when I swatched it it was dry and chalky. The colour was not black. I used it on my lids and it came out grey. This was my second black eyeshadow, my first one is by far better it's the JANE eye zing in Clubbing. It has shimmer though but is very pigmented.

I saw this product in my drugstore on sale for an amazingly cheap price ($3.99 CAD) and since i dont have a black shadow, i just grabbed without knowing how well it'll work.

This is a truly amazing eyeshadow. I use this to set my eyeliner and it does not smudge at all. I even slept with this on (forgot about it) and when i woke up in the morning, i realized that the color is just as vibrant as if i just applied. This black shadow is great for a everyday look since it's not as dark as eyeliners so i use this to line my bottom lash line. This is also perfect for just setting eyeliner.

Without this, my eyeliner (I have Maybelline Unstoppable in Onyx and Estee Lauder Automatic Eye Pencil Duo) smudges like crazy and it's too much work to apply so i end up only use it once or twice a week on nights out for a short period of time but after i purchased this, the staying power of my eyeliner improved so much i dont mind using it for everyday purposes.

This is just a basic matte black eyeshadow. Comparable to carbon from mac but at 1/5 the price. When these shadows go on sale I get them for $2.99! Absolute steal!

Love this highly pigmented matte black, total HG. It's very smooth and velvety soft. Annabelle eyeshadows depot like a dream and slip right into your MAC palettes. What more can I ask for for less that $4 CDN? Would most certainly repurchase.

I used to only wear black eyeshadow for many years-
I've used almost every brand, matte or shimmery, pigmented and not so pigmented. THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL of them all!
Seriously, it's perfect, velvety smooth and highly pigmented. Annabelle eyeshadows generally are great, but this one is just the icing on the cake. Highly recommend.

This is just as good, if not better than MAC's carbon. Its a tad easier to apply and maybe a bit easier to blend too. Its also takes less time to achieve a true black smokey eye. All this for less than $4 CA. It has a permanent spot in my 15 pan palette.

Agree with all the good reviews about this product, perfect pitch black, good staying power, can layer for intensity. I believe any bad reviews stem from the fact, that the product bought was from an older stock because the new Annabelle products are of very high standard and personally I think that the Annabelle shadows beat all other brands in powder eyeshadows whether it's MAC or NYX. Now if only they'd come out with more colours....
