I purchased the Shiseido "The Skincare 1-2-3" kit at Shoppers Drugmart here in Canada for $50. I was using Bobbi Brown's skincare prior to this and I must say that there is no comparison. Shiseido's is far superior and the price for this kit is amazing!! This moisturizer is the best I've tried. It's moisturizing but not heavy, I have dry and sensitive NC15 skin and this moisturizer works so well for me!! It also leaves this beautiful pearl glow to the face after it's applied. It keeps makeup on really well too...I didn't have to touch up my makeup even once in 10 hours!

UPDATE!!! HECKKKK NO!

After using this for a few weeks, I realize how greasy this is, even for the driest of skins! It's disgustingly running and shiny and it made my makeup fade extremely fast. I went back to using Bobbi Brown's Vitamin Enriched Face Base which I have learned to love again after this awfulllll Shiseido experience!!

Not bad. I bought this after using a product that made my skin very sensitive and dry. It works for me and doesn't make me break out, and I like that it's spy 15, but it's nothing special.

it is very lightweight lotion w/ spf protection...it is only spf15 though...if u want more protection, get the higher spf lotion.

I really wanted to like this product but since I have oily skin, it made it more oily. I think it broke me out too.

I got this and the night version as samples when I restock on my Purifying Foam Cleanser. The texture even though light and watery tends to turn a bit greasy after I've put it on. On itself I would rate it as an average to above average lightweight moisturizer that does it job but disappoints when put under make-up.

It seems to amplifies the dry patches on my cheeks what with my makeup base and liquid foundation basically clinging onto the patches and refusing to even blend. I look like I have half-baked melted make up on after 5 mins. And I notice there;s breakouts every time I used it.

This might be suitable for those with dry to normal skin types that can absorb richer moisturizers, but for those that have acne-prone/sensitive/overall moody-ass skin, its better to get a sample to test it out before splurging on a whole bottle.

Decent basic moisturizer; keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day and doesn't seem to cause any breakouts after two months of use. I apply after the alcohol-free softener in the same line, and it seems to absorb well enough. I wouldn't trust the SPF for more than walking to and from your car, though.

This is probably not for anyone with oily skin, or who wants to look matte all day.

A lot of other reviewers have commented that it leaves a greasy film on their face, and yes, it's true. It feels similar to how some primers and suncreens dry down.

I actually happen to like the film because it makes my foundations look better (no dry cakey look), which is why I purchased this moisturizer in the first place. I don't like a lot of liquid foundations because they look powdery and dry, but wearing them over this moisturizer makes them luminous and glowy. Go figure.

Great packing - sanitary pump, and opaque container so light-sensitive ingredients don't break down before you apply. One full pump is enough for your face, neck, and chest, but the pump isn't "sticky" like some others, so you can easily dispense 1/2 pump or whatever amount you want.

For the fragrance-sensitive, this has the usual Shiseido fragrance, which dissipates shortly after application.

I tried this and I was in love.
Much more moisturising than the White Lucent range, and cheaper to boot.
My HG moisturiser. Keeps my skin lovely and soft the whole day!

EDIT (25/1/2013): I have stopped using this product as I find it less effective than Biotherm. Biotherm's cheaper too. However it is nonetheless a good moisturiser.

At first, I really didn't like this product especially for the super high price. It felt greasy on my face, had this odd shine, and I avoided using it as much as I could. However, after consistent use for several weeks, my skin started to absorb it much faster rather than how the moisturizer used to just sit on my skin. My skin used to be really dehydrated and looked dry. After using this combined with the night recharger moisturizer, my skin has been much healthier. I have been breaking out far less and I've been consistently using this product for seven months. The females in my family are faithful believers of Shiseido and I strongly recommend this product. I have heard so many stories of how Shiseido makes wonderful products for people who are consistent with the use.

This product has a sunscreen scent that used to bother me. However, I do find that for daytime use it is light and hydrating. It is a tad pricey so I might purchase something else before this. It worked fine for me.

I bought this because I wanted SPF in my moisturizer, to prevent wrinkles and stuff. It softens my skin just fine but after a few days broke out my skin. All SPF moisturizers I have tried never seem to work out. I'll be going back to Shiseido Bio Performance, which has been an absolute dream.

A rather light-weight moisturiser with minimal sunscreen function. It can be a little difficult to blend with foundation.

Tried the sample for two weeks since I ADORE my Shiseido the Skincare Cleanser and Softener and Benefiance Advanced Super Revitalizing cream and wanted an AM moisturizer with SPF. Unfortunately, while it moisturizes well, leaving dewy (not greasy) skin on my combo complexion, it is so effective at hydration that I only need a peasized drop for my whole face, not nearly enough product for thorough sun protection. It provides a supple surface for makeup application and really does hydrate, but alas, I will not purchase this particular Shiseido product and will continue using my Benefiance with my La Roche Posay on top for AM skincare.

I bought this moisturizer and I am quite pleased that I did. After lots of days in th sun, my skin was really dehydrated and I need a good moisturizer to rehydrate it. So i bought this cream, which is very light for my oily skin but enough hydrating too. And it doesn't cause me any breakouts too!

UPDATE Nov 7th 2011
I'm still using this product, but I don't think its quite for me (yet). I'm not sure if it's the travelling or stress, but my skin is at its absolute worst since i was a little kid. My skin is red and patchy, dry, but i'm getting breakouts all the time on centres of my cheeks. I'll finish off the bottle and return to my Clinique DDML because i think its just more calming and doesn't have the SPF.

******
Shiseido, yes pleasssse!
I've been using the Shiseido Pureness Foaming Cleanser since i was in High School and had the usual teenage skin problem; oily T-zone, one or two pimples here and there, and the general 'blergh, my skin feels so gross after hours of school, sport and study' feeling.
It was amazing then and is still the cleanser I use now, although i know with age my skin's gotten drier.
Until 3 months ago i used the Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion and had no issues with my skin, but then decided to switch to a different product. After a HORRIBLE experience with Benefit B.right Moisturizing Emulsion I moved onto the Shiseido Day Protective and my skin feels and looks AMAZING!
A half pump of the product is enough to make my face really soft and smooth, and the fragrance is very pleasant.

Another thing to note, when using the Pureness cleanser, one small bottle would last me 6 months of everyday routine morning and night use. If this product lasts anywhere near as much as the Pureness does, then i think it's not an expensive product at all (considering people spent $10 monthly for a crappy drugstore product anyways).

P.S - Those who think the product is greasy might be those who would prefer the Shiseido 'Pureness' range, rather than 'The Skincare'.

Using every now and thenis ok. If I use it too many days in a row, I break out. I guess it clogs pores over time.

In addition, it's quite shiny, which I don't really like. Prob will not repurchase.

I love this face lotion, it makes my skin look so supple and smooth. I'm surprised because the consistency is quite runny like milk but the effects are amazing. Despite the consistency, it does a good job of moisturizing but it can be a little greasy which is fine with me because I have dry combination skin but more on the drier side and I really could use the extra grease rather than having no grease. I have used many moisturizers in my day and believe me, I need the extra grease. I think if you have oilier skin type, this might be too greasy. The fragrance isn't too overwhelming, it's a nice and light floral scent and I love the pump dispenser which is very sanitary. The only problem I have with this is the low spf and the price. Unfortunately, I like the lotion so much that I have h=bought 3 bottles already as well as the night lotion.

This is the worst moisturizers I've ever tried. Left my face sticky and shiny. It just sat there all day. While I was applying it, I kept wondering if they had given me a gel cleanser instead of a lotion because it was really sticky. It made my pores look bigger and my old acne scars darker. All day I felt I had something plastered on my face.
