I've been using this now for a few years and I will continue to use it religiously. I have oily skin and this product doesn't let me skin freak out like it used to. The tone is even, never red, and smooth. Love it. Big fan... clearly.

I have been using this product for years. I'm 40 years old and faced with the indignity of having to fight both wrinkles and break-outs at the same time. This works wonders on both. I actually ran out of it once and didn't re-buy right away because I wasn't sure it was really doing anything for me. Within two weeks of not using it, my skin felt rougher, my lines were more noticeable, and my skin in general looked duller. I'll never run out again.

Okay, after the recent bad reviews, I'm going to be the dissenting voice here and say I really like this product. I don't have acne-prone skin, but I haven't experienced any breakouts from this at all...as a matter of fact, I didn't even experience my normal hormonal breakout during TTOTM this month.

My skin has become much smoother and more luminous. The texture is finer, discoloration has disappeared (although it wasn't obvious in the first place) and ruddiness in my cheeks has faded.

This does make my skin tingle on application, but that dies down in a few minutes. The gel feels cool going on, and it sinks in completely.

I will definitely repurchase this product.

I have to agree with MAS520. I had high hopes for this product but my skin did the exact same thing as hers/his. First good looking skin, then terrible pimples on my cheeks, the big ones. I never get pimples unless I try a new product that is awful. This one is awfull, it's going back to Sephora. Don't know what product I'm going to use to simulate an at home chemical facial but I guess I'll keep reading. If you have clear skin now, pass on this product because if you use it, you won't have clear skin for long.

I'm really torn on this product. I started using this for my hormonal acne and clogged pores. I used it as directed... increasing usage at 2 wk intervals. At first it seemed like it was working on the clogged pores I had on my forehead, but after about a month I began purging. By this time I was using the product 2x a day. I was prepared for the purging but I was breaking out all over my cheeks. I'm an oily t-zone girl, and my breakouts are generally confined to my nose and chin area. However, I started breaking out all over my cheeks. I have never had pimples on my cheeks before! The worst part is that I have brown skin that gets discolored after every blemish (whether I mess with it or not!) I cut down my usage to just at night and it made my skin a little bit better. This gel has definitely helped me control the oilyness of my skin. My skin has calmed down but I definitely have more hyperpigmentation than I did before using this. I like the idea of AHAs, but I think I'm going to try either Merle Norman's AHAs, Exuviance bionic serum, or MaMa Lotion next. PROS: Makes skin less oily, lasts a long time (just need one pump), helps control clogged pores a little. CONS: purging in new areas, price (but it does last a while)

Okay I only used this once...my bf has been using it for awhile and his skin has been pretty good, I dont see any black heads on him like I used to. So I decided to use this when I didnt bring my face wash (pro activ) and it worked wonderfully. I have a lot of pores on my nose and it was bumpy from me picking on it and after the use of this wash they all went down...no more bumps well i mean there were a few left but it was a lot less! I might have to buy this after I finish my pro activ face wash!

Would give 3.5 if possible.

I use this Glycolic Gel with PTR AHA/BHA Face/Body Polish and no more blackheads on my nose, skin is clearer although I still have minor break-outs (hormonal). The smell is kind of strange, unpleasant... It melt into the skin very fast and gives a matte texture. However, I think the Polish does more of the work, the Glycolic Gel only helps a little.

I don't think I will repurchase this gel again but try other acne treatment from PTR.

UPDATE: Well it actually does work. I stopped using it for a while and my skin becomes very oily so I started putting it in my skincare routine again and after a few days (it doesn't work immediately) my skin becomes less oily. I used this gel before for 2 months and didn't realize that my skin was less oily thanks to it.

I don't mind the price as long as it helps my oily/problem skin. Plus this one will last quite long.

Not impressed with this product at all--especially for the price. This stuff smells like anti-freeze from the car. I also didn't see any changes with my skin after using this product for 3 months. A definite don't.

I purchased this after reading the reviews, and I have to say that I'm not terribly impressed so far. It hasn't irritated or dried out my normal/dry skin at all, and the bottle seems to be lasting a long time with nightly use. I'm about 2/3 of the way done, but my skin has not noticeably improved at all, unlike with my HG Neutrogena Healthy Skin Night lotion -- that stuff is pure gold! I am starting to think my skin is "inert" with glycolic acid, as DDF glycolic toner didn't do anything either. AHA and BHA are much more effective at fading spots and evening my skin tone. I won't repurchase this PTR gel.

I have been using this product for several months and my skin is the best it has ever been. I have gone through D/S and higher end products and differen and this product beats them all in performance. My T-zone was covered with whiteheads, after only a few weeks with this product, my skin is not only luminous, but I have at least a 50% reduction in pore size and cleanliness of said pores. I love this stuff. I bought it on a whim at the Sephora in Las Vegas with some helpful advice from the SA there. Thank you Vegas gals!

As say most of the reviews, this product has turned around my skin. After using Clinique's dramatically different lotion (run far far way from this product), I began to develop acne on my cheeks and forehead. Not pimples, but terrible red and disfiguring acne. I was devastated. I read the reviews for this product and decided to give it a try. I no longer have the acne. Literally, in about 2-3 weeks, it got rid of almost all of my pimples. I had moderate to sever acne on one cheek and now all that is left is the acne marks/scarring (this takes a lot longer to get rid of but dont despair). I have gotten compliments on my skin and how glowy it is after starting to use this product. I tried so many products to get rid of acne, proactiv and every single drugstore brand as well as a few more expensive treatments including facials. Nothing works as well as this. The packaging is not the best, but the price is VERY WORTH IT considering what it does for your skin. In the long run, you spend more money on a combination of products than you do when purchasing this one thing to get your skin back on track. I can't even imagine what it would do for people with good skin to begin with! Try it!!!

this is the second GA product i've used, and i like it much better than the md formulations one. it is still harsh, but i see immediate improvement on my breakouts when i use it at night. i usually put it on, wait 10 minutes, and then apply either neutrogena 3-in-1 hydrating acne stress control treatment, or nelson's homeopathic acne gel, and when i wake up i see good things. it's harsh, and i hope it's not damaging my skin in the long term, but you gotta do what you gotta do i guess.

This product works very well at clearing breakouts (the most important thing to me!) and making my face more smooth. I have been using this gel for over a month now and am very pleased with my results and will repurchase (though I think one bottle should last quite a while). I followed the directions of starting to use the gel every other night and had minimal purging (just a few days) and no irritation. I like that the product has no scent either. However, the gel does feel very sticky going on and take a long time to sink in, so my skin feels sticky for several hours, though I always apply this just at night, so it is not a huge issue. I do wish that the packaging was better though. The pump is tricky and sometimes the product goes flying out of the bottle...and I really wish that the bottle wasn't glass as I am afraid to travel with it. Overall, the packaging could be improved, but the gel itself works great! EDIT: I now use the PTR AHA/BHA gel. It seems to be less sticky and helps keep my skin clearer.

I tried hoping it will help clear up a few small stubborn zits and some redness problem I recently had.

After using it for a few weeks I can see the differences it has improved for my skin. Happy to say it's working well for me. Will continue using it for awhile.

This stuff is incredible!!! It cleared up my STUBBORN acne within a matter of days and left my skin smoother with a glow it never had before. Since I started using PTR, a lot of my redness and splochiness is gone. Now I could probably get away with no foundation (However, I still wear my tinted moisturizer for the spf benefits :)) I use it every other day to every day at night, and follow up with some benzoyl peroxide. It is expensive, but just one tiny pump is enough to cover my entire face AND neck, so I'm sure it will last a good while. I've had it for about a month and it still looks almost full. I will repurchase again and again!

This is good stuff! I use it every night with a moisturizer and it's really made a difference in the texture of my oily skin. It's brighter, baby soft, and stays clear. It's expensive, but a little goes a long way.

This Serum/Gel rocks, I underestimated it having it in my cabinet for like 8 months. I decided to use it again to lighten and smooth out my skin texture, put a nice even layer on it yesterday night already I wake up to supple lighter glowing complexion. Just wish it was a little cheaper, put I still have about another 2 months use if I use it every night. This does exactly what it says to do "increase cell turnover and smooth out a rough texture". So I'm satisfied

You obviously did not give this product a chance to strive. I have been using this product for over a year now, and buy it for less on Ebay. This saves my skin from the constant break-outs that i constantly had in the past. You should also exfoliate daily. My break-outs now are very small, and are rarely huge unless it's that time of the month. Coming from a from a family w/a history of serious acne, this is my HG. It helps w/past acne scars etc. I also use the BPO 10% wash, which helps and i find it is better then what my derm has prescribed to me in the past. I couldn't ask for anything more.
