I was looking for a palette that would include some light matte shades to be used as a base, and some mid-tones like taupes, browns and greys for the crease. Leaning to neutral-cool I can't use any of the very popular palettes which include lots of warm rosees, rusty browns, warm taupes and bronze. Oh, and I despise shimmer and sparkle - mostly because at my age they make me look even more wrinkly than I actually am, so I prefer satin finish. This palette seemed to fit the bill but when I used it for the first time I was a bit disappointed. Some of the colours where a bit too warm for my liking, and the opacity/coverage was not as good as I expected from Bare Minerals and from mineral eye shadows in general. Here more about each shade.Boss Lady: is a satiny off-white with a nice pink hue but with some obvious sparkle that can look a bit weird during the day. I use it on my lid alone or mixed with other colours to brighten them up.Moneymaker: a grey-olive, satin-matte, more matte than satiny, not too dark, nice to be used on the crease or on the lid - is one of my favourites Schmooze: I expected a bronze shimmer but I found that it is actually gold. Still a bit too warm for me, this is the one I don’t use at all. Boardroom: a deep matte chocolate brown, not as dense as I would wish and slightly too warm. Dark enough to be used as liner.Exec: described as "polished slate", I think it is a nice bluish satin grey, beautiful on my hazel eyes, alone or mixed with the warmer shades to cool them down - my absolute favourite. Payday: I hoped for a "greige" but this is a satin-matte light grey with a greenish hue. Magnate: satin-matte nude beigeGet Ahead: matte taupe. Probably the most neutral taupe I know because depending on what is underneath it can get warm or more cool, almost purplish.Somebody here complained about them being all too dark but I don't agree. The only dark shade here is Boardroom, then there are three light shades (off-white, beige and grey-green), three mid-tones (blue grey, green-grey and taupe) that can be used all over the lid or in the crease, and shimmery gold. Strenth:This palette offers actually two palettes in one: the first 4 pans on the lefts side are cool tones of pinkish-white, blue-grey and grey-greens, and the four pans on the left side are beige, gold, dark brown and taupe slightly leaning to warm. All together they are really neutrals, especially if you mix the shades together.WeaknessThere aren't any light matte shades to be used as a base: the light ones here have all a rather satiny finish and don't offer a good coverage as a base. If you, like me, have discolorations on the lids you will need a beige primer or base underneath. They are also not very long lasting on their own, so, again, I need a primer and a base. This is why I was so disappointed, but then with the time I have figured out how to make them work. I first apply Bobbi Brown Cream Eye Shadow in Bone or a primer and a bit of Jane Iredale Base powder on the lids and then I apply the eye shadows. This way also the warmer colours turn a bit cooler and everything sticks to the base making my makeup last longer.I am still on the fence with this palette but I have decided to give it a try, at least until I find something close to perfection for my needs.

I've been waiting months for this palette to arrive in Canadian Sephora stores. And this was worth the wait (even at 10 bucks more than in the US, as much as that hurts!)! " The Power Neutrals" seems to be Bare Minerals' answer to all the Naked/Nude/Undressed eye shadow collections, and they have done it very well. I've been totally pleased by the Ready shadows I own and the quality of this newest palette is every bit as good. The shadows are rich in texture and pigmentation and, as a result, they apply richly and blend beautifully. The colours have been well selected to make for a truly "one stop" palette that is great for work and for travel. It contains 2 or 3 great highlighters (depending on your colouring) and a good selection of mid-tone and darker shades. Usually in a palette, there are 1 or 2 shades that I can't wear or that aren't my favourites but I love every single shadow in this one. Also included is a booklet with a few suggestion for looks (and they're nice ones!) and a decent brush that I would actually happily use. A mirror fills the lid and there's even a little cello "Cheers" greeting when you first open the case. The shiny gold-toned case does get smeared in fingerprints in no time but that's hardly the end of the world. Don't be put off by the colours you see when you look at the underside of the case - they are much redder and flatter than the actual shadows are! The company would be wise to make this palette permanent, the way both UD Naked palettes are. As it stands, if there are any of these left, I may go back and purchase a back-up. I'm actually surprised there aren't dozens of reviews for this, as there were when the original UD Naked palette came out, and that people aren't clamoring (or is it "clambering"?) to get this one. In a word, "buy this" (okay, that was 2 words!)

I wrote this big, long, review about this palette and decided to delete it.I decided to make it short & sweet. Overall, I am not thrilled by this BE neutral palette, but "power" is an appropriate description of the kind of neutrals these are. These colors are too pigmented (eg. dark) for me to use for daytime neutrals. Yes, there are 2 or 3 lighter toned shadows, but the majority I find to be too dark. (There are 8 eyeshadows in this palette.) Too dark for the lid, and too dark for my crease. Better neutral palette choices for me are: BE's The Truth, Stila "In the Know," Urban Decay's Naked Palette and Naked Basics. If I had the chance to do it over again, I would skip BE's Power Neutrals palette. I know I am going to pull it out for only one or two colors in the palette, and I can't pair any together, so it's kind of a waste of money, IMO.

I absolutely love this palette! The colors are exceptional, great pigmentation and blend ability. I purchased this palette along with the Power Neutral blush, lipstick, gloss and the new lash domination mascara and will review them all separately but first this eye shadow palette is AMAZING! I like that I can go demure for daytime and dark/smoky for nights and weekends, the only drawback is that the pans are so small that I can see myself hitting pan very quickly. I will definitely purchase a couple more to stockpile since these are usually limited edition. Cost is about $42 which is a little on the steep side since the pans are small but these colors are worth every penny.
