For someone who has severely chapped lips, this product is a god send. I apply it at night and it keeps my lips moisturized and silk for the next day. It is a thicker sticky consistency so wearing it during the day is an option but it's not for everybody. It is a little expensive, but I think it is worth it because no other chapstick/balm works for me.

I have rosacea and eczema on my face, it helps to soften dry hard skin when i'm on medication on oral steroid for my face eczema where the facial skin to dry and flaky but free of bumps. However when my medication wears off, the cold cream isn't of much help and makes my eczema bumps more clogged and itchy(my eczema usually land on the butterfly area of the face and gets really bumpy and red). But it is good for a 5mins face mask while showering where it prevent the tightness of the skin, i'll repurchase and use it as a mask. Currently trying
Trixéra+ Selectiose Emollient cream as read many review on MUP. will do a review once my medication is over to be more accurate. Good luck and don't give up!

I just find this thick and a bit greasy - doesn't feel like it's sinking in which is what I was hoping for as I have dry/dehydrated skin. The smell is not that great. I won't buy this again.

I have dry and eczema sensitive skin and this is one off the nicer (cold) creams I used. It did not irritate my skin at all and I even used it to soothe my skin after an eczema flare up. This cream is on the thicker side but it rubs in easily, it also has a soft scent that did not bother me. I do have to say that this is not really moisturizing but it does soothes dry (cracked) skin. It gives those skin types only temporary relief though because I had to re-apply quite often and went true the (40ml) tube within a month! And because I went true the tube so quickly and it does not really moisturize only leaves a barriere I doubt that I would repurchase. But this is a very nice cream and I would recommend to try a sample first to see if it works with your skin!

This cream is saving my skin! Since becoming pregnant I've suffered from extremely dry, tight, painful skin. Even though I was already using cleansing oil and Eucerin creme for my combo sensitive skin, I had to totally rehaul my routine. Avene has been a great brand for me with this new problem. Other creams - even Weleda's Skin Food and E45 - don't touch my dry facial skin, but leave it crispy and taut within an hour or two. Meanwhile, Avene Cold Cream sinks right in and "becomes" part of my skin, leaving it moisturized and soft for up to a whole day! I am amazed. While it's relatively cheap here in the UK, it's not drugstore cheap, and it does contain a (not-exactly-nice) fragrance and a paraben, so I removed a lippie. However, I am willing to compromise at this point since so many creams have not been moisturizing my skin. In addition, it's a wonderfully cheap replacement for Lancome Nutrix (which is outrageously expensive), my other favorite. This stuff is amazing for severely dry skin and I will be using it every winter, I predict, even after I give birth.

Great moisturizer for night AND under makeup. In my case I mix a little cream with my foundation for a sheer and glowy look. I am very impressed with "cold cream" as of late and have been using "Ponds" to remove my makeup instead of buying expensive oils from the health food store. Ponds is about $10 canadian. And the jar looks like it will last a good year or so. Avene is twice as expensive but I dont cleanse with it. Little goes a very long way. Very VERY impressed!

I used to like this cream a lot before I found the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream for me.
I have been using it only occasionally in winter and usually not on the entire face, but just where needed. The smell was very nice, had something baby-like. The application was a bit difficult, it is quite hard to spread I find and it takes ages till it soaks in. For me it was an absolute no-go for daily use, only at night it was ok and only when I used a tiny little bit. In the mornings my skin felt super moistured after I removed the oil and excess from my face.

A favorite of mine. Couldn't live without this cream.
I use it as a night cream. Because it has a thick consistency, I usually add one or two drops of rose hip oil so it becomes easy to spread.

This is the first product that I've ever tried from this brand. This winter I left behind all my fancy super expensive high end moisturizers and I'm currently only using products that are simple and have very short ingredients list. A few examples my current skin care includes embryolisse lait creme concetre,Elizabeth Ardens 8 hour cream, Oilatum and some jojoba oil.I was so sick and tired of my previous skin care items... Hundreds and hundreds of $$$ and the result: red, sensitive, dry, acne prone skin! The first product I've tried was this one and I really love it. As u can imagine is a very thick cream has a nice discreet scent and comes in a tube. I use only it at night its too thick and oily for day use. Every morning my skin feels so smooth and all the signs of sensitivity like redness are gone I took one lippie off because it contains fragrance, alcohol and parabens they haven't had any impact on my skin but I would be happier if they weren't there.I also mix it with my estee lauder maximum cover foundation to make it more Hydrating . Feels on the skin very nourishing and not heavy at all, it really calms my skin down and its very hydrating. You may find it a little bit difficult to spead it on the skin because its so thick but I solved that by adding a couple of drops of jojoba oil and spreads on the skin amazingly that way .

i absolutely love this cream! it's the cream that has worked best for me so far and i've been using it for quite a while now during the colder months and sometimes even in summer whenever my skins tends to get dry. i have quite sensitive and very dry skin and sometimes i get eczema patches. this cream works wonders on my skin it makes all the dryness go away and makes my face glow when i apply it. smells good and clean too! i have to warn you though, when you apply it it has to be massaged in and distributed well otherwise it will make your skin feel heavy and sweaty. i recommend leaving your skin a tiny bit damp after washing it as that makes it easier to work the cream in well!

Excuse me for my bad english.

Let me just say that I have the worst skin type ever. I have oily T-zone, really dry cheeks and skin on my chin and neck is acne-prone, plus my skin is very sensitive and prone to redness. In winter my skin just starts to peel off and this is the only thing that saves my skin. It makes my skin oily but because of that I use it in specific way: I ONLY use it as a night cream and as a mask. I always put a lot of cream on my face and after few minutes I take a cotton pad and wipe it off. Believe me, without this as a night cream I can't even put foundation in a morning.

Cream really has terrible smell, but I'm ok with that as long as result is this good.

After reading the reviews of this cream I decided to try it. For the past month or so, the lower part of my nostrils has bene very dry and peeling. It feels the same way as if I had a cold. Since I had just purshased some Avène products, I went back to the pharmacy for it. I have bene using it for 2 days, putting some on whenever I feel the need and It seems to be working. This morning I could see less dead skin so I'm hopeful it will take care of that problem. I also have an itchy red patch on my neck (I don't know what is happening to me this year, I never use to have skin problems) wich could be uticaria (hives) and it's doing nothing to releive the itch. That's the reason I gave it a 3. It's a good go to product for dry patches and I think it will be good to protect in very cold weather. Very little is needed so the tube will last a long time. It's a good treatment to have in your beauty arsenal.

But this product is my life saver! My only problem with this product is sometimes the packaging breaks/cracks. I have suffered from eczema for years. I've tried expensive products, steroid based products and cold cream is the only one that works. It feels great and cooling when you apply it to the irritated/dry area. For me this calms my eczema and works like a charm!

This is the first cold cream I have used (hard to find ones such as this that do not test on animals). I would definitely repurchase. I use it with my facial cleanser to take my makeup off including eye makeup. I also mix it with exfoliator if I feel my skin can’t handle anything too abrasive but need to get rid of the dead skin. As well, over top of topical acne meds before bedtime it really soothes my skin, and I never wake up with red irritated skin, despite the strength of my prescription meds.

This product is really good, but as others have already pointed out, not as day to day moisturiser, its for skin damaged by the cold. I bought the avene cold cream Lip balm when I was in beijing as after spending a day at the great wall of china. The weather up there ruined my lips (the worst they have ever been), but the balm put them back together! Its amazing!! The girl in the shop gave me a few samples of the cream when I bought the balm, and I thought it was horrible, for too heavy! But my skin was fine before so I didnt need it. When I was up in the mountains in tibet my skin was sunburnt AND chapped from how insanely cold it was. I found the other sample, slathered it on, and hey presto, FIXED!!
The lip balm is even more amazing though. I have the tinyest bit left, my friend used some and i got really mad at her. ooops! I havnt been able to find the balm now in back in the UK, so im clinging on to the last bit!

This is a life-saver if you spend time outside in cold weather.

I can get clogged pores and impurities when using oily creams, but this one doesn't affect my skin in a negative way at all. It's actually so calming I have used it a couple of times to calm down redness and irritation. However, I only use it as a cold cream - it's to heavy for me for everyday use.
