Waste of time and money. Took forever to get a line with consistent pigment and still wasn't very dark. I threw it away after that first use.

This was a really, really bad product. Shame on me though for thinking that a $3 eyeliner would work for me when the only eyeliners that have ever worked for me have been ones that around about $40. The pigmentation of this eyeliner pen was pitiful and after 2 hours of having it on I had really intense raccoon eyes. I usually have a bit of smudging because my eyes are so deep set but having it look like I put on greyish eyeshadow as opposed to black liquid liner is unacceptable. Also, halfway through doing winged eyeliner, product stopped coming out of the pen. Hated this, really awful product.

I have oily lids and watery eyes so for the longest time I only wear pencil eyeliner until I found my HG which is the PF eyelash boosting eyeliner pen. But I wanted something cheaper to wear when my HG is out while I'm waiting for sale at cvs. Ulta was having bogo 50% off essence so I picked this one and the I <3 punk jumbo eyeliner pen. I like the jumbo much better than this, but that's for other review. If you are used to the Jordana fabuliner eyeliner pen tip, this one is just like that. Also if you apply your eyeliner by laying the tip on the side and just glide it following your eye shape, you will like this eyeliner. I have watery eyes so I was happy when the label says this is a waterproof eyeliner but sadly it's not,it smudged badly on the outer corner they should have market this as a water resistant eyeliner. And the one thing I wasn't expecting was it stained my eyelids!! This never happened to me before especially because I take my eye makeup off with virgin olive oil. Obviously I won't repurchase this product. Very disappointing since I love every other essence products (;_;)

first and foremost, IT IS NOT WATERPROOF. just want to put that out there. however, it does have some good things. the tip is not too hard or too flimsy, and it applies quite nicely. it glides on my skin without any tugging, and it is easy to get a thin or thick line (whatever you prefer). it dries pretty fast, and after it dries is does not transfer or move. when i put it on hand and and rub it, there are no smudges around the line, and the line still has the same pigmentation. it is not the blackest or most pigmented eyeliner pen i have used, but it decent. the price wasnt bad either, so if you dont plan to get wet this should be fine. it does wear well without smudging, which is good. I probably wont buy this pen again, because i have better eyeliner pens (the jordana fabuliner).

Very disappointed in this. I am no stranger to pen liquid liners and thought I had maybe found something as good as Stilas pen liner in Essence.
The colour is not a solid black but quite watery/grey and would take quite a few swipes to get to full opacity.
The felt tip was much too long and in effort, almost gave way at the tip, resulting in a fuzzy and uneven application. It was the equivalent of a brush splaying if that is any clarification.
It also does stain the skin, which is okay if you plan to wear it 365 days of the year, but for those of us that don't, a faded grey stain isnt really desired.
No rebuy for me, the regular and waterproof bullet shaped liquid liners by Essence are FANTASTIC though!
Age: 25-29 Skin: Combination, Medium, Warm Hair: Brown, Straight, Medium Eyes: Brown
- great pigmentation
- easy to use
- easy to remove with water minus for the stain
- great starter liner to work on the wing
- cheap as heck
- fair staying power
- staining of eyelid
- not actually waterproof (with water it will melt right off your face)
I got this on a whim as I was looking for a good everyday eyeliner that stay put. It was only $3.49 so what the hell right? I have been using it for a week everyday now and it does stay put throughout the day. It is super black and easy to use because it is in a pen form and I just store it horizontally and it has not dried out. I do find that if i wear it over 12 hours or more the end does start to fade slightly but it still holds in the inner corner. The colour is very opaque and one swatch is often enough and it is super easy to do thin / thick lines. Like all the other reviews, it does stain your lids which I don't care about that much since I wear eyeliner everyday but it would suck for those who don't and it just looks a little funny when you remove your makeup. Overall it does the job for a fraction of the price so I must say for the price, it is a very good product. It is very holy grail, but it is cheap to use everyday !

Thought I would give this a try after seeing a couple good reviews. My lids aren't super oily, and it did stay on. But it badly stained my fair skin a washed out liner colour. I did read that this happened to other reviewers, but didn't think it would be as bad as it was! This really worried me, after it took a few days to fade!! Even though I don't wear eyeliner everyday, I had to smudge some fluid line on, to cover up the faint line left by this product. Not something I want near my eyes all of the time. Means the dyes are really harsh. This also has parabens, which is another negative.

I believe I paid $3.49 Canadian for this product. I was having a problem finding a liquid eyeliner that didn't smudge throughout the day due to my very oily skin. Surprisingly, this one lasted all day and even AFTER eye makeup remover AND washing my face, there was still a faint line. Awesome stuff.

I really like this pen, but the name is completely wrong. Although it leaves a faint stain on my eyes even after it washes off, its extremely NOT WATERPROOF. That doesn't bother me though. I still really like the shape of the tip. It's a hard tip but I find it easy to make really thin lines and precisely wing out the liner. The tip doesn't bend or mis-shape which I like. It does last all day and is very pigmented.
P.S. They have many variations of eyeliner pens. Unfortunately this one has parabens in it :(
