I finished my La Roche Posay thermal spring water and decided to give Avene a chance. Avene sprays in a much finer mist than LRP, which is not to say I don't love LRP thermal spring water too. I pretty much love both of these. There is no fragrance added which I appreciate, and it is the first thing I use in the morning after waking. I often do not re-cleanse my face in the morning unless using a leave on spot treatment mask type of product, rather I just douse my face with the thermal spring water, then a good spritzing of rose water before staring to apply my makeup. I do like the cooling mist the spray provides, which is gentle and refreshing. Next time I see the 2 for 1 deal I'm stocking up! This works on other parts of the body, not just for the face. I've sprayed it on my finger after touching a hot pan, as well as to cool over-exposure to sun. Love it!

I love the idea of this but it did nothing to calm my Rosacea.

I bought it after purchasing one of La Roche Posay and honestly I think all thermal waters are the same thing...I'd recommend any! But the Avene one is the cheapest one and I love it really much. My boyfriend also uses after he squeezed a pimple in order to get less sensitive and so I do! I also use after shaving my lady-mustache hahahahaha. It feels really good and it gets less red within some minutes. I highly recommend it!!!!!

I received this in a beauty subscription box and was very excited as I love these types of mineral water products.

I use this four ways:

1) As a hydrating mist after cleansing to give my skin an extra layer of moisture before applying my actual moisturizer

2) As a gentle "toner", although that's not what it's meant for, I spray this on my face on days my (bare) skin is a bit oily.

3) As a finishing spray, after I apply a full face of makeup to help set my makeup and give my face a less cakey appearance.

4) As a "calming" spray when I have a reaction to a product. It really helps calm and soothe my skin.

I find this product is the most effective for when my skin is sensitive. It genuinely helps take redness and itchiness away. I would absolutely purchase in the future.

My dermatologist prescribed me this together with all other medication. At first I was a bit skeptical because my friends told me to try this and when I tried hers once I didn't see anything but my face is all runny and my sunblock melt grossly. Maybe I didn't use it correctly back then because now it does feel very helpful for my irritated, sensitive, and broken out skin. I was told to use it after washing my face before the medication creams, and throughout the day to avoid redness and itchiness/flakiness. I have to say the redness does not disappear completely (Since I was prescribed tretinoin night cream), but the feel of the skin is softer, bouncier, and a lot less irritated. One "magical" effect I notice is that one time I squeezed my face prior to going out meeting people (I know, bad habit) and my face was all red. I sprayed and pat this water to my face and it was actually all calmed down! I don't think this was actually possible before, to go out and have my skin look normal after such invasive action but this product made it possible. Now I am just wondering if I can bring this product safely with me to my one week business trip next month. I don't think I ever want to be apart from it! Lol

This thing is amazing. It's so refreshing and soothing. It's a bit pricey but very much worth it.

My mom keeps this around for whenever she has laser treatments. This calms down the redness and after about 5 sprays, she feels less of the burning sensation from the treatment. Clearly has soothing properties. Amazing!

As I've mentioned, this thing is super refreshing! The bottle somehow keeps the liquid inside super cool so when you apply you immediately feel a cooling sensation. Love love love this. Holy grail status for sure!

I have acne prone skin, this doesn't do anything for my cystic acne but I just frequently use it for when I feel like I need a refreshing mist.

I was really skeptical of this product before I got it, but succumbed only because I have a tendacy to put a little too much foundation on in the winter, sometimes. I really want to kill shine, but sometimes I just overdo it and my face looks like a big powdery mask. I know the right way to apply foundation, I use translucent powder and a beauty blender, but hey - I LOVE putting on my makeup every day - its fun! - and sometimes I do too much.

I use ELF's setting spray but that just sets my makeup - what I bought this for was to avoid re-powdering throughout the day. Instead, I mist with this and press oil blotting papers onto the skin to absorb shine and freshen my base. It works wonders! I may repurchase but might go with the Evian spray because it's only $7 as opposed to $18. This is really worth it if you have oily skin and have to wear a bit of foundation. It can help you avoid having to take off all your makeup and reapply. It feels really nice too, as a pick me up in the middle of the day. Instead of feeling powdered and mask like, I feel refreshed and confident. It also works wonders for retouching - if your foundation wears off or gets muddy, you can spritz your face with this, lightly blend away the bad spots, and retouch with a stick foundation. I love the Becca stick but Revlon makes a good one, too. Really a godsend, I never powder anymore.

For some reason, I tolerate this much better than Evian thermal water. In the very dry northern winter, I spray it as a rinse after washing my face, enough that it trickles down my face, like a gentle rain. I notice It does not seem to evaporate as quickly as Evian- this is a big advantage when using it as a setting lotion to seal in moisturizer. More importantly, it seems to work well with La Mer lotion and Finacea to bring down the flaming redness of rosacea on nose and chin down to a pink shade, and reduce the other pink areas (cheeks) to my normal skin color. I am not sure which is the cure, or whether they are synergistic together - I hope my reviews of these might be helpful.
Avene is richer in silicates, and has a lower salt content than the other thermal waters, for what that's worth. Anyone else with rosacea tried it and got good results also?

Yay....water in a can!

I got the AVENE Thermal Spring Water 50 mL that was on special at Priceline for about $2-3 because I read that using face mists can help when you go on long haul flights.

This is a fricken god send! The air is so dry and instead of constantly getting up and out of my seat to use the bathroom, I'd just spray this on my face. I think even the feeling of spritzing that cool stuff on makes flying a bearable experience.

It's small enough to go through customs and doesn't set off the alarms. Keep it in your carry on and don't be too worried when someone mistakes it for breath freshener.
