With Ilia's Crimson and Clover I found sth that I could never get from any natural cosmetics brand EVER - a proper crimson red lipstick. By proper I mean not a (barely) tinted lipbalm, not a lipgloss, not an old lady red (forgive me all ye old ladies), not a dark red which can never go well with fair complexion (Jane Iredale, i'm looking at you here!). Just a pure vibrant red, with the perfect balance of both bluish pinkiness (pinkness? is there a word?) and sth so so slightly orangey. Okay, perhaps the shade will look different on everybody - also because its not opaque as the usual chemical-packed lipsticks, but as close to "opaque color" as a natural lip conditioner goes imo. A very versatile 40's/modern daytime/night out red. Actually, their whole shade range is very good as there are some good modern opaque-ish shades that are not to be found in any other natural cosmetics brand (that I know of; haven't tried anything by Vapour ).
As for wearability and all - totally agree with aerislina here. Dries down to an elegant sheen (no gloss, but no dead/dry matte either), does hold quite well, does stain a bit, with a light hand can be worn as a tint or, with several swipes, a proper "red lip". Is actually very moisturizing. Mind, castor oil is listed the first ingredient, which is known to be drying when in excess. So that may well be the reason that after some time i might feel like extra moisture is welcome (enters my beloved Weleda lipbalm) - but only (!) if my lips already are kinda dryish. The ingredients list seems to be, well, almost perfect (would prefer less castor oil). And - a gorgeous red!
A love!

This is a lovely bright red lipstick with pinkish undertones. I usually use about two coats of this lipstick, which is quite moisturizing. I like this lipstick because of the ingredients and they way it lasts and lasts on my lips. I dare say it stains the lips a little bit, but it definitely survives a meal and is well worth the price.

Absolutely love this stuff. Looks amazing on my cool toned skin when I have a tan. Also leaves a lovely stain. Packaging is beautiful, feels lovely on the lips. Ilia is becoming my favorite lipstick line.

I love Ilia lip conditioners, they are all so pretty! Crimson and Clover shows up pink with a bit of red on my lips. I get compliments every time I wear this shade. I stocked up on this lippie at a sale on b-glowing and paid $12. Great quality and long lasting formula. For a coupon on b-glowing follow the link. http://bit.ly/1lILVUH

Way too clown-ish. I like bright red lipsticks, like Revlon's Classic Red. Maybe it would look better on cool skintones. It just does not look good on yellow skin tones. Would not buy, especially at $25. By far my favorite eco lip conditioners are RMS lip shine line. I do like Blossom Lady (mauve pink) and Bang Bang (nice subtle red) in the Ilia lip conditioner line, though. Very nice colors.

The Story:
I'm actually on my second tube of this.

The Color:
On me, Crimson & Clover comes off as a strong deep red with neutral undertones. It can be sheer, natural red with a carefully light swipe and then swiped more for a deeper red look. It dries off with a slight sheen. Does not look glossy at all. Almost dries into a semi-matte look.

The Formula:
Ilia's Tinted Lip Conditioners are meant to be a lip balm/lip stick combination. (Think Revlon's Lip Butters gone green and eco-friendly. Add a little chic packaging and you have Ilia's Tinted Lip Conditoners.) Because of this, they are fairly moisturizing. After 2-4 hours however, I have to reapply with lip balm. Not sure why.

The Wear Time:
Like I said, the color stays on forever until you try to take it off. It does fade from it's full effect, but the color is so strong, it won't really fade all the way. You'll see what I mean when you get your hands on one of these babies. (Note: I have these in other colors and this one is the longest lasting. The other lighter colors do not last as long.)

Overall:
I really love the formula. It isn't drying and can be made sheer or opaque for a full color effect.
