Love this cream. I ave been using various Asian brands for the past three years. SKII, Su:m37,Sulwhasoo, The History of Whoo and Missha with many products that I felt were very good. Then I bought Tatcha cleansing oil and enzyme face powder and felt they were fantastic so I started buying more from Tatcha and gave away most of my other products. This cream is light yet very hydrating for my skin. I do a weekly MUAC 40% lactic acid or fade peel and feel I need a good moisturizer after the peel followed with the Tatcha Beauty Oil over it. With the winter weather this added moisture seems to work better on my skin. For a few short weeks I was only using the Tatcha Face Beauty Oil which is one of my favorite products but adding this with it really moisturizes any dryness from the winter cold weather. I really like the light texture and feel of this. Some products feel too heavy or greasy for my skin and can leave a greasy feel after you apply it. I also bought this for my 16 year old daughter who has very sensitive, prone to redness, hormonal acne and dry skin if she goes out in the cold. That causes problems with applying BB/CC cream and makeup. With her using this moisturizer at night and a few drops if the beauty oil alone in the morning her makeup goes on with no problems and her skin looks great. I am sure there are many good moisturizers out there that are just as good as Tatcha. But her products have helped my skin look better so I am sticking to them. I still have a large bottle of my Su:m37 blossom essence moisturizer lotion which I use and am very happy with it and the toner. I am willing to keep products that I like and work for my needs. But I am also happy to add new things that help my skin.

Of the four products in the Tatcha Ritual Discovery kit, this is my least favorite. It has a fondant texture and you don't need much. It feels moisturizing but I'm just meh about it. It's just not anything special, and alcohol is pretty high up on the list of ingredients. In the morning my face seemed a little red and irritated. Could be this cream, could be something else that I've been using. Overall this is a mediocre face cream. If you're interested in Tatcha, stick with the camelia cleansing oil and the exfoliating rice powder.

I think this moisturizer is better than most. I have very dry skin, especially in the winter where it peels, and this does a good job. I can even use it in the humid summer without feeling greasy.

But for some reason I feel like it doesn't make me rave the way the cleansing oil and rice powder do. I'm still searching for the perfect product for me...while this is good, I think maybe there's better out there.

I got this in a deluxe sample size as part of a sampler kit which Tatcha sell online. It is in a cute little jar and has given me many uses. I read reviews on MUA and other sites before I purchased the kit and I can honestly agree and disagree with a lot of what has been written.

1. Yes it is a rich texture cream. So what I did was use very little. Which is why my sample is lasting such a long time. Almost 3 weeks now, only using night time.

2. Probably would not be suited to day time use due to consistency of the cream.
3. No harsh smells (heavy perfume). The ingredients are not too bad either. (See website)
4. The packaging is very nice . I'm a sucker for packaging.
5. I DON'T like the price. For what is cream is and I know it has very premium ingredients but I have used other Japanese skincare whose creams use just as good ingredients and yet they don't charge half as much as this would cost. So I won't be buying the full sized jar.

Let me begin by saying that I have extremely sensitive, redness-prone skin that has become drier as I approach menopause. (And I used to have an oil slick on my face well into my 40's). I have tried many, many moisturizers, from all kinds of manufacturers (foreign and domestic). By far, this is the gentlest and most hydrating moisturizer that I have used. It is light, not heavy and the hydration lasts all day and night until I cleanse my face again. I began by trying the Tatcha sampler set and found that I could use either this cream or the Ageless Renewal Creme without a problem. I like this one - the Moisture Rich Silk Cream for during the day and the Ageless Renewal Creme for night-time use. The Moisture Rich Silk Cream has a light, almost imperceptible scent and is a gel-cream texture. I have not had any breakouts, redness, rashes, irritation, stinging or itching from daily use - a first for me. I also use the Tatcha Cleansing Oil, the Brightening Serum and the gentle rich powder with great results. My skin has become softer, firmer, more even toned and consistently hydrated without greasiness after just 1 week of use. If you are on the fence about trying this moisturizer, try the sampler set. I realize the price point is an issue for most people, but having consistently good, nonreactive skin is worth the price. The products are long lasting as a little goes a long with each one so it may make the price issue more tolerable. Also, the website is very informative, the ingredient list is published for each product and the customer service is extraordinarily good. There has been a great deal of thought put into not just the products themselves but their presentation and delivery.

I have only tried a sample of this, but it sort of stings on my cheeks and i feel its a bit heavy. i now only apply it to my forehead to use up the sample, but i highly suspect it is breaking me out. i would not recommend this for oily acne prone sensitive skinned ladies, and i would not recommend it for daytime use unless your skin is exceedingly dry. given the high price tag, i would not recommend this product in general for anyone, i feel you could do better for less money. that being said, i highly recommend the enzyme powders. i use gentle for daily and deep every once in a while. I don't remember what i didnt like about the classic one haha. maybe ill try that one again sometime.

This is a decent cream. On me, it works fine on really cold winter days. Otherwise, I find it too heavy. Problem is I didn't find it special enough to warrant the price tag. It's certainly not better than other high-end Japanese face creams that cost around $10-$20 USD less.

I have been using this moisturizer on my dehydrated skin for the past 3 weeks and have been very satisfied. Make no mistake, this is not a cheap product. That being said, it is a very good product. I haven't broken out and it keeps my face hydrated all day long. It doesn't have any discernible scent.

I love that it comes with a little gold spatula that ties to the top of the container - prevents contamination and losing the spatula!
