I like this loose powder but I don't need it in my life. It's no miracle product. It simply functions like any other HD powder. Enough said :)

I love this powder!! I have dry skin and it is very hard to find powders that don't suck all the moisture from your face. This doesn't do that. I can set my makeup with this and it looks beautiful. Even on hot days when I've gotten a little shiny in the afternoon I can touch up with this and it doesn't cake up. It makes my makeup look just as good as it did in the am.

I was really excited when I bought this because the reviews here were so good but this product is just really mediocre for the price and for what it claims to do. I've used it for the past few weeks and it makes me look paler, takes away from the finish of the foundation, has shimmer in it which I don't think a setting powder should have, and does not make my foundation last that much longer--compared to MUFE HD, it makes my forehead oily halfway through the day, and not in a "dewey" way. It does blur fine lines just a little bit on my forehead, but that's pretty much the only positive and I don't think that's worth $34. If you have the cash to splurge on it, go ahead, but it's not a product that I feel I'd reach for every single day. I'll stick to my deluxe sample of MUFE HD which was free and will last me a really, really long time.

I LOVE this powder. It's hands down my HG setting powder and I've tried many different ones. I used to actually dread powdering my face after foundation because I found it always took away the beautiful finish my foundation gave me and instead left me looking indefinitely powdered but I had to powder for my makeup to stay on so not powdering was not an option.. now I actually like powdering my face, with this it enhances the look of my foundation. This also works amazing to set under eye concealer, concealer will not crease at all. Please, try this!
TEXTURE:
super, incredibly finely milled. Finer than any setting powder I've ever tried. It's very light and you can't feel it on the skin. It feels so soft and smooth on the skin, like baby skin.
FINISH:
Beautiful not powdery at all. The least powdery looking setting powder. Trust me, I have a heavy hand with powder (I just like my makeup really set) and it never looks powdery, flat, or dull. It also never gives me a white cast in real life or photos. It has very very fine micro shimmers that aren't really noticeable on the skin, it just gives a diffused effect and looks more natural instead of powdered. It's completely translucent and blends seamlessly into my skin (I'm an NC35-NC40). It blurs lines and pores nicely. My skin will never be flawless but it looks a lot closer with this powder.
WEAR POWER:
Amazing. The best part is that's its not drying at all, I used this when my skin was extremely dehydrated and dry from irritation and this didn't dry me out even more. Yet now that my skin is combination (I have a very oily nose and cheeks) it still combats oil just as well as Tarte Micronized Clay powder, but this doesn't dry out your skin like the Tarte which in turn causes your skin to get more oily so technically this does a better job at oil control then the Tarte. My makeup lasts so long with this yet feels comfortable and my makeup looks really great for 14+ hours and when it does start to get oily its only slightly and doesn't look too bad.
BEST APPLICATION METHOD:
Flat top powder brush like the elf studio brush or with a powder puff and gently pressed into the skin after foundation has completely set.

Its been a while since I felt the need to sing praises of a MU product. Since I read the review from Temptalia I knew this was my answer to ghostly flash pictures. I´m happy to say that this loose powder beats MUFE in my book (which makes you look like a geisha in photos), and it controls oil while adding a "glow" to your skin. I apply it sparingly with a large fluffy face powder brush on top my Clinique Pore Refining liquid foundation. I bought it during the Sephora BI 15% off sale and although it is quite pricey I think its worth it because it will last a long time.

Still not sure how i feel about this. I had been using the pressed version of bare escentuals mineral veil and really like it. but since I had heard so much about this powder, i had to buy and try it out. honestly, i'm not really sure if it's any better or worse than my mineral veil. I think for the price, i'll just stick to my mineral veil if i ever run out of nars lrp since i can't tell that it's significantly better.

I like this setting powder, It is good at keeping my face oil free, so good that it is slightly on the over-drying side. I did not really notice the light reflecting effect, but did notice it leaves the face looking paler. Not my HG and will not be repurchasing.

I bought this with the hopes of a smooth, non cakey look and find it creates a ghostly look. I used it soooo lightly just to subdue any shiny areas and I still am not happy with the final results. It appears to take away the dewy look from my foundation.I will keep trying using different methods in hopes to achieve a polished look and not feeling like I wasted alot of money. If I can't get that effect its back to my GA micro.

I bought this powder in February, and was reasonably pleased with the finish and the fact that it doesn't aggravate my sensitive skin. Now I am on vacation in the Caribbean, and I brought the powder thinking it would be a good choice in the heat and humidity. Not so, and I will be interested to read more reviews as the weather heats up everywhere. It does strange tricks, this powder. About a half hour after application, my face look like a total oil slick, yet my face feels totally matte. It's really, really strange. The oily look is not flattering on me. I think I will stick with my MAC Blot in the hotter weather. I will use this up in the cooler months, just to use it up, but to be honest I really don't find it any more special than other powders I've used.
Tip: When you open the powder for the first time, don't completely peel off the little sticker over the shaker holes. Just peel it halfway off and that way you won't have too much spilling out and making a mess.

I have nothing but praise for this product. At first I thought this whole reflecting powder thing was a gimmick but wow this stuff is incredible. I feel like a million dollars when I wear this over my makeup. It gives my dry and dull (NC37) skin this instant glow without being obvious and powdery. I was fearful that like most translucent powders, it would show up white but rest assured it doesn't!. I've tried this on my mother's mature (nc42) skin and it looks great. This is one product I would recommend to everyone, it is definitely worth the investment!

I bought the loose one and it is very moisturizing. Even after washing my face, my face is still hydrated. My only negative would be that it seemed to lighten my face with a slight whiteish cast.

This is for the loose powder. I got this because I read somewhere that it's not drying. I need something like that because I'm on retin-A treatment and that dries my skin like nothing else. I like this a lot. It holds shine at bay for a looooong time, but it does not make me look powdery. I like it better than MUFE HD powder because that one is somehow very slippery (sounds goofy, but that's the best way I can explain it). I have to pile blush on to get any color. Don't get that with NARS's powder. No color at all and no smell. No glitter, either. Expensive, but worth it.

I am probably the oiliest person one will ever encounter, so my results from this powder may differ from others. I bought this in the loose version. I'm always on the hunt for the next product that will control my oil for at least 2 hours without blotting. However, this product makes me much more oily. After immediate application, skin looks great! However, after around 1-2 hrs, I look more oily than I would with my regular setting powder. For now, I use this powder exclusively under my eyes (I have hereditary eye bags that create shadows). This powder minimizes all the shadows and lines, which is why I will repurchase if I ever run out.

I hate to be the lone dissenting voice to bring down the rating on such a beloved new product, but I wasn't totally thrilled with this powder. To be fair, I had wanted to purchase the PRESSED version (which is finally now back in stock) but they were sold out so I got the loose version because I was just itching to try this powder, based on the glowing claims made by NARS for how new and wonderful this powder is.
To be perfectly honest, I don't find this powder to be any more "magical" than MUFE's HD powder or MAC's Prep+Prime loose setting powder (which I prefer over MUFE) or Tarte loose setting powder. And as another reviewer pointed out, this is messy to use, no matter how careful you are....you will still get "poofs" as you open the jar and as you load your brush, etc. I guess this is because it is SO finely milled (a good thing in its way but the downside is the messiness). I don't find the results all that amazing, though I will continue to use this til I finish it but I really am looking forward to picking up the pressed version. If nothing else, at least it will be a whole lot more portable and practical to use.
UPDATE: I think I'm actually starting to like this powder more than I did initially. I still don't think I'd repurchase (you get so darned much in the jar and also, I picked up the pressed version - which I much prefer - several days ago) but I am starting to like using it more and on me, it doesn't appear dry or sparkly and just really does seem to "blur" the imperfections a bit. Keeps my nose looking matte pretty much the entire day. And it works really well to set my under-eye concealer (I put a bit on a MAC 224 and tap off any excess and it really does diminish the look of fine lines)

I wasn't sure what this powder would do for my skin, as I normally do not use powder. I was curious to try with my combo skin. I applied it over my foundation and had a smooth, pore less finish. No white cast, no powdery look, just perfect. I apply it in the morning and maybe again before going out and the powder does not build up on your skin. Very natural. If you are looking for a finished look, give this a try!

Have I been photoshopped?Looks like it! I have been searching for a product like this. When foundations are nowadays so high quality, and are supposed to give glow, loose/pressed powders matify skin, and you loose the wow-effect. (ATM using Nars Sheer Glow Deauville and YSL Teint Radiance)
I have mature skin, but no visible wrinkles. (I use MAC brush #150) Some products emphasize fine lines and other imperfections, but this makes the best of your skin. Can be used over TM, BBs etc.but delivers best with foundations. Controls my natural oils over 9 hrs. I usually have oily skin during summer, but as this is a new product, summer is not here yet. This is not a miracle product, so don't expect too much if you have bad skin problems. Normal and combo skins will benefit the most.
This is a must have product, and I will def repurchase.

I have dry skin and most powders can dry me out a little. What I look for in a powder is not to control oilies, but to set foundation. I was almost out of my regular powder and decided to purchase this. When it arrived I was surprised at how small the container was. I have used the normal Nars Loose which came in a huge (and too big) container, but no - this is quite dinky in comparison! It is in a heavy rigid plastic jar with the annoyingly usual rubberised screw top lid. There is no puff with this. You get 10g of powder.
This powder is magical I tell you. I have no idea what is in there that gives you that soft focused glow. Not sparkly, just a satin finish. Don't use too much, use very sparingly or you will get a white cast from this. But you don't need to add a lot, the small dusting is enough. It blurs (not erases) fine lines and pores. This also doesn't dry me out further either which is fantastic for me. This is one big winner from Nars!

I gave the loose version of this powder a test run over the course of a few days. The packaging is well-made but kind of boring; just a tub about the size of your palm with a sifter inside the cap. To apply to my face, I either use a kabuki or a powder brush and applied liberally, focusing on my T-zone and chin.
PROS:
-Doesn't catch on flakes or peach fuzz - you can apply repeatedly with no dryness
-Gives your foundation a demi-matte finish, NOT a purely matte one
-Gives your face a soft-focus, diffused look in pictures
-Very finely-milled, no shimmer whatsoever
-Works well against oils. I still need to blot once in the day but only a few hours later than my usual time.
CONS:
-To the naked eye, it gives my foundation a bit of a cool tint, which isn't ideal for my very warm skin.
-You can look dusty if you apply too much, although your skin oils will take care of that in a few hours
-Your wallet will take a hit because it's about $34-36
-The loose powder will get everywhere even if you're careful with screwing on/off the cap, so I don't think it's very travel-friendly.
Overall, this is a FANTASTIC setting powder. For everyday use, I'll probably stick to MAC Blot powder in Medium-Dark because that matches my NC25-30 skin tone better. Whenever there's a chance I'll be in pictures, however, I'll switch to this powder.
EDIT: I have acne, clog-prone skin and I don't think this breaks me out yet. I was a bit worried about algae being listed as one of the ingredients, but it's at the very bottom of the list of ingredients, so hopefully there's not much of it in the powder at all.

This review is for the loose powder. The powder works wonderfully well at blurring imperfections and giving your skin a "soft focus" look. It has no shimmer or sparkle. It does not dry out my dry skin; however, I have always used it on a well-moisturized face, over Hourglass Mineral Primer. This product has no perfume or added scent; however, it does have a tiny bit of a smell if you try to smell it-kind of like cornstarch-not a bad smell. The jar of loose powder will probably last forever-I need to use just a tiny amount each time. The product comes with no brush or puff. I use my Bobbi Brown mini Face Blender Brush, which works really well. I just pick up the tiniest amount of product and gently sweep in onto my skin in a circular motion. The only thing I don't like about this product is that it's a bit messy-the powder is so finely milled it goes everywhere when you open the cap. I wish that the holes in the shaker top were smaller so less product would come out. I probably will never need to repurchase, but if so, I will buy the pressed version.

Yay! I think I finally found a powder that I can use to set my under eye concealer and not have it look all powdery and dry. This has been quite a journey. I think I have bought at least four other types of power, looking for this!
A makeup artist at Sephora put it on me the other day when I was getting a makeover, and she claimed it was moisturizing. I don't know how that could possibly be, but it did not make my undereye area look dry and 100 years old, so I am happy!
I just took off one lippie because i thought it made me look kind of pale when I put it all over my face, but I am sure I can either learn to work with that, or just use another power for the rest of my face.
