I own these in Juicy Peach and Sweet Watermelon, and lately I've been grabbing Sweet Watermelon a lot since the weather got hot.

Juicy Peach still has the nice, buttery, moisturizing formula, but the glitter in it is too gritty and I have to be careful applying it or it looks cakey and weird. It's been languishing in my makeup cabinet, and will probably be given to my daughter for dress-up. Sweet Watermelon has shimmer in it, but it's much more natural looking, and is more of a sheen than a frost. It's a sheer rosy pink, and complements my NC25 skin.

The formula for these is amazing, though - they are not long wearing, but they fade evenly, and leave my lips feeling silky soft for hours. I reach for this over any other lip balm I have when my lips start feeling rough, the moisturizing properties are that good.

It is expensive (compared to some of the other brands that have put out chubby stick knockoffs, with longer lasting formulas and more color variety), and the current colors are all frosts/shimmers in pink/neutral colors, but if Neutrogena added some cream finishes I would snap them up in a heartbeat.

I researched this on MakeupAlley & on CVS.com before checking it out at CVS. Many are pleased with this product, but several say the cons are as follows: frosty, glittery, and overpowering scent. Thankfully someone had opened one, in the shade "Juicy Peach". I rubbed it on my hand and it looked nice and peachy sheer, and the light gold glitter was very fine. However, since it was already open, I got a mirror and tried it on lips. Bad! It was what the negative reviews said! Super frosty and an overpowering nasty scent that stayed with me for an hour after wiping it off! I don't mind a natural scent, but I don't even understand why you would put an unnatural scent into a lip product. Your lips are right under your nose. So if the product is good, but the smell is gag worthy, you can't use it. I wish the companies understood that a bad smell right under the nose is not good. A heavy scent in a lotion would be tolerable for that reason. Also given that it was frosty, it did not give a bare, natural hint of color as advertised, it just was heavy feeling and color and sat on top of the lips. My lips are in very good condition, and yet it made me look like I had lip lines! Worst part (aside from scent) is it is so frosty that it looked the opposite of natural. So to sum up: 1) if you are looking for a natural hint of color, this is not it. 2) if you don't like overpowering scent...steer clear.

Ugh this product felt so weird. I also hated the taste! And if I'm gonna put something on my lips it better taste good or like nothing at all! It had a lot of shimmer and little color payoff.

Clinique Chubby Sticks still win out for me. Neutrogena's attempt falls short because the formula doesn't feel as nice on the lips...at least for me, anyway. Many of the shades available are too shimmery/frosty and I can really feel the glitter particles. By midday I have a line of residue on the center of my lips which is not pretty. I don't like the sweet melon fragrance either. A huge part of why I hate glosses is that most have a sweet smell or taste and it really bugs me. The deepest shade Raisin was the best overall - no shimmer, pigmented enough to flatter my naturally dark lip tone. I just can't get past the smell and the slightly sticky finish. Back to Clinique's Chubby Sticks!

I have to give this product 5 stars only because the way it feels on the lips and how cute the packaging looks! I am not the kind of person to go ga-ga for packaging, since I'd rather get an amazing product that comes in a cheap packaging, then pay loads of money for a "cute one." I think this particular packaging is not just cute (common, it's a crayon!) but it's also functional since it twists.
I bought a first shade is Juicy Papaya and loved it so much that I went back and bought two more shades (Neutrogena is running a promotion this week at Walgreens and CVS: buy one get one half off 4/10/13).
Juicy Papaya is a perfect shade of coral. I usually combine it with a sheer coral or pink lipgloss and it looks very nice and refreshing.
Two other shades that I purchased are Juicy Peach and a Sweet Watermelon.
Juicy Peach seems more peachy nude, so if you want a fresh barely there look, this may be just for you to try.
Sweet Watermelon kind of reminds me of Revlon lipbutter in Strawberry Shortcake, but is much more sheer.

These are the drugstore version of Clinique's chubby sticks and they are very similar in texture and performance, however the Neutrogena ones have way better colors! I have the Plum Perfect (#70) and it is a gorgeous slightly frosty MLMM pinky plum. These are not as glossy as the chubby sticks, therefore they last a little longer but still don't last more than an hour on me. I do love the cute fat-pencil twist-up format and the smell is melon-y deliciousness! Love these and will be buying more!

this is not the type of product I expect when something is marketed as a tinted balm. first, the color is pretty (rich raisin) but not sheer enough. also, the texture feels more like a liquid lip gloss than a balm. it does not seem like it's going to moisturize or protect the lip from dryness. the color and gloss feeling wear off really quickly too. on top of all of this, it has a sickly sweet smell to it that I just can't get past.

I should have known better. I have tried many of neutrogena's tinted lip balms, and I've never liked any of them.

I got the color Watermelon from BzzAgent and I just like it. I don't really like pink colors on my lips, and the Watermelon color is just too pink for me. It also has a slight frost which I'm not crazy about. I do like the feeling on my lips though, and would definitely consider trying them in a more suitable color.

I got the watermelon shade and agree with other reviewers...it's too frosty! The color is very pretty but the frost is not my thing. They are definitely fragrant (kind of a peachy/fruity scent), which I don't mind. The feel very comfortable on the lips and the pigmentation is decent for a gloss/balm type product. I might consider buying another color after figuring out which ones don't have a frosty finish.

I bought this tonight in Fresh Papaya. The color is very flattering on my fair, yellow-based skintone. I recently discovered how much I like peach / coral colors and went searching for a few lip products at the drugstore. I was hesitant to buy this one because I feel that it's pretty expensive, almost $8. I also could not swatch this in the store due to it being completely sealed in plastic so I had to hope the shade looked the same as the tube (you CAN see the end of the pencil, but we all know sometimes things look a lot different swatched) BUT I really do like it.

The color comes out just like the color in the tube at least for this particular shade, it feels silky and moisturizing. I wont comment on longevity because lip products NEVER last long on me, I almost always intentionally wipe them off, because I start hating how anything feels on my lips - this is not a knock on the product, it's just me! Chapstick, lipstick, balm, gloss, anything.

I really like the chubby pencil, but this is not unique to this product of course. Still, it's my first balm-like pencil. So I enjoy the packaging.

I'm only knocking 1 lips off but there are 2 things I dislike - the price seems a bit steep for a drugstore item and the smell is overpowering. It's very fruity and some may like it, but it's so strong - there is also a taste as well.

Overall, however, it's such a pretty shade, I would buy it again. I am very happy with the color payoff!

I got these through BzzAgent and have been impressed so far. While the color payoff isn't on par with Clinique's Chubby Sticks, they still have very good color and a smooth, hydrating texture. They apply smoothly and softly, without tugging, and don't feel heavy or tacky on the lips. The fruity/watermelony scent is appealing to me, but it may be too heavy or overpowering for some. Overall, for a drugstore product, these are a great dupe for UD or Clinique's lip gloss sticks, and the price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of product that you get.

I loved Clinique's original Chubby Stick balm so I'm happy to see the drugstore brands releasing similar products. Neutrogena's is very similar, even down to the packaging: it's moisturizing & balm-like with semi-sheer color, but it also has a delicious fruity scent. I have the 3 darkest shades (plum, raspberry, & raisin) along with watermelon. As other reviewers have said, some of the shades are rather frosty & more so than I expected, and for that reason I wouldn't purchase the watermelon again. However, the darker ones are lovely, even with the shimmer.

I found these for 40% at Rite Aid last month. Bought one.. loved so I went back and bought the rest. I figured at $5.40 each why not.. Neutrogena is not cheap for drugstore imo. ;) After trying all of the colors, I would repurchase most but not all. The only ones I could NOT buy again are the peach and watermelon. These have straight up frosty finish to them and because the shade is so light it doesn't look very good. I am determined to make them work though. Maybe with a sllightly deeper liplner or some trick like that. Soft Caramel also has a shimmery effect but because it's a nude color it works. The raisin was the surprise winner for me. No (or minimal) shimmer and very pretty. They are comfortable on the lips and easy to apply. And they smell like tropical fruit. Overall color me impressed.

A real disappointment. Tried two of the medium shades (I returned them before writing this). Neither had any more pigment than a gloss, and they were very drying. Given those characteristics, I don't know whether its lack of staying powder is such a bad thing!

I'm really disappointed because this is *almost* a great product. I bought the shade Fresh Papaya. It's very moisturizing and comfortable to wear. The color is sheer but pretty, and it has pretty good staying power for a product of this type. The problem is the glitter. These color sticks are very shimmery. (From what I could see in the store, all of the shades are like this.) After the balminess wore off, I looked in the mirror and my lips were plastered with silver glitter. I've worn a fair few shimmery lip products but this was by far the worst. I tried to wipe off the leftover glitter and reapply, but after re-application it looked frostier than ever. It's a shame because without the glitter I would absolutely love these. If Neutrogena ever releases shimmer-free shades I will definitely check them out, but until then I'm done with this product.

I bought this product on a bogo so I was able to purchase both the caramel and plum colors. I loved the smoothness of the balm and the color payoff is an added bonus. I don't mind a little sparkle to the lip -- it is not obnoxiously so. Staying power is good for what is essentially is a tinted lip balm. The fruity flavor is yummy as well!

These are amazing. I have the shades "Soft Raspberry" and "Rich Raisin". I haven't always had a good experience with jumbo pencil lip products. I did not like the Revlon and Clinique ones. However, these are moisturizing yet opaque.

I love the concept, but this product fell short of my hopes. I got it in Plum Perfect, and while it goes on smoothly and lasts a decent amount of time, and the shade itself is nice, it is verrrry frosty. From other reviews, it sounds like the other colors are frosty as well. Oh well--I need to pare down my lipstick/gloss/balm/stain collection anyway, so this one goes in the trash.

This is probably my favorite "jumbo" pencil from the drugstore so far! I own all 3 drugstore jumbo pencil brands (revlon, covergirl, and neutrogena) and neutrogena's version is by far the most light weight on the lips. The ones I got all have micro shimmers which can be good or bad depending on your taste.(I give these a 4.5 btw >.<)
Link to swatches: http://img.makeupalley.com/8/1/5/3/2372252.JPG
I have 3 colors :
-Juicy peach: Looks like a sheered out version of Macs Shy Girl(It might be frosty on pigmented lips)
-Sweet watermelon: average baby pink(frosty!)
-Bright Berry: Similar to Revlon's lip butter in Berry Smooth mixed with Lollipop(not frosty but has micro shimmers)

Pros:
-Lightweight
-Sweet scent(kind of like berries/raspberries), but not overbearing
-No odd taste from what I can tell
-Softer lips after it wears off(from my experience)
-The shimmers in them aren't gritty
Cons:
-Not a variety to choose from.(8 colors? I believe)
-Some are frosty and you can't really tell by looking at it.
-Shimmers on your lips when product wears off.

I would definitely repurchase! I'm planning to get fresh papaya next. :]
Edit: Juicy Peach is a tad pinker than Shy Girl and a little bit grainy. The other 2 colors I didn't feel anything

I was so excited to try these out since I loathe wearing lipstick on my dry lips and I hate the sticky feeling of most lip glosses. I purchased the Watermelon and Caramel colors at Ulta. They feel very nice going on and are somewhat moisturizing at first. However, both of these shades are SO frosty, and on my 40 year old lips, frosty does not look good. I personally find frosted shimmery shades sort of defeat the purpose of a tinted lip balm since, as the product begins to wear off, I can feel gritty shimmers left on my lips which just further dries them out. I'm going to return them and try the ones from Cover Girl instead, since the swatches I've seen do not look frosted.
