This is my first ever foundation, I originally used bb cream from skin79 because I just needed to even out my skin tone. But then I wanted a little more coverage since I've been getting some minor break outs. I know that the urban decay naked liquid foundation is supposed to provide sheer coverage that can be built upon. I went into Sephora to find my shade and first when it came on, it felt very nice. It was light and it did provide just the right amount of coverage that I wanted. But after I bought this and used it on my own at home, it dried out my skin completely. Not only did it emphasize my dry patches, but it actually made me break out even more. I thought I didn't put enough on to cover my dry patches so I attempted to put a second layer on, and it made me look like a cake face. I returned the product.

I really wanted this foundation to work for me. I have 57 year old skin in decent condition. It is fair and I would say combination skin - tad bit oily on my nose and the rest can tend to be a little dry - especially in the winter.
Pros: love the lightweight feel with so much pigment. Love the great coverage ( medium to full) - looks flawless and matte. There is no natural glow with this finish but I don't find it heavy at all. Seems to be long wearing on me - not all day long but decent requiring a midday powder. Also in the fair skin color, I've found the .5 to be a very good match.
Cons: very drying. This foundation will find dry patches that I don't even know I have and accentuate them. I exfoliate and most other foundations don't tend to show dry skin more or suck the moisture from my skin like this one does. I've tried different moisturizers and primers but this foundation is still way too drying. Can't use it daily cause within 3 straight days of use, my face is a dry patchy mess and it will take another 3-4 days to get it back to normal. I'm going to keep it and use it for special occasions when I want more full coverage but won't purchase again.

I work at Ulta, and have tried most of the prestige liquid foundations we carry, and this one is by far my favorite, and was my first high end foundation purchase.
I use this on customers all the time and most people are extremely happy with the results.
I always point brides to this foundation because it is HD and contains no SPF.
I have very dry skin and this works very well for me.
I am about a light NC20 in mac and I wear 1.0
This foundation has a tendency to dry down slightly darker than it looks while applying it.
The brush UD released with this is not a necessity, but it is a great brush. I use the Real Techniques expert face brush with this and I get a beautiful finish.
One pump gives a medium coverage and it is very easily built up to full coverage, but can also be sheered on to a light coverage. I think this quality makes this such a unique foundation. I can build up the coverage when I am having breakouts, and can sheer it out when my skin is behaving.
The thing I like the most about this foundation is that it looks like skin- it actually looks like my face, not my face covered in heavy makeup.
I set my t-zone with powder to keep it from moving in the heat, and I find it sets better when you gently press powder in with a powder puff, instead of using a powder brush.
This plays well with both silicone based primers and water based.
I find that it doesn't last as long when used over the UD Naked Skin BB Cream, it works better with an actual primer.
It works well with the Mario Badescu Rosewater setting spray and the UD All Nighter setting spray.
I don't mind that this doesn't have sunscreen because I don't rely on my foundations to have SPF.
This has Matrixyl 3000 in it, and has some really nice skincare benefits- definitely worth the extra money for such a beautiful foundation.

There seem to be 2 reviews on this foundation, so I wasn't quite sure which one was the one I am using (or if they are identical), but this thread seems to be more up to date.
I recently switched from wearing mineral makeup which stopped looking good on me for various reasons. On my search for the perfect foundation, I have literally tried about 6 different liquid foundations in the last week....MAC, Shesiedo, Lancome, Stila, etc. I was actually pretty happy and almost settled on Stila's Correct and Perfect but I did notice some oxidation after about 2-3 hours of wear. I kept it but the SA told me about Urban Decay's Naken skin foundation. Well, I have had the unfortunate experience my entire life in getting suckered into buying a foundation I didn't come in to try out in the first place only to be disappointed every time. This time, however, the SA was sooooo right now. This makeup IS amazing. It DOES cover. It DOES match. This is a great foundation so far.
PROS:
-First of all, if you like the dewy look, this is not for you. This is quite matte (not as matte as Lancome Teinte Idole or ELDW). I for one, like that look and don't like looking oily. I do brighten up my cheeks with some NARS bronzer and/or Tarte Blush to add that glow. I guess one could also use some primer, but I don't like adding another ingredient if not needed.
-Color selection is quite amazing. I am normally a NC25, but in the summer a NC30+. I was matched to Shade 4.0. It seemed to be the right shade but the wrong tone! It was really green on me as this shade was meant for people with olive undertones. I thought going up to shade 5.0 (medium with slight golden undertones) would be way too dark but it isn't at all. This color sinks into my skin and just matches quite perfectly!
-Oh this stuff is SO blendable and it covers EVERYTHING. First I moisturize. Then I place a little foundation on the back of my hand and take my MAC stippling brush to dip the foundation and then I start blending. The color at first seems off and you see if go on a little streaky but within a minute is blends into your skin and adjusts to your tone. Best of all? I have not used ANY concealer at all with this stuff. This is a miracle for me as that's all I used with mineral makeup. Now, I do not place this near my eyes however. I guess I should back up and say that I don't need concealer at all for my superficial acne marks, but I do place a little brightener/concealer under my eyes and try to avoid foundation in that area.
-Staying power seems to be decent. I would say 6-7 hours?
-Don't get that oily look with this stuff.
-Comes with a pump! Always a bonus.
CONS:
-Since it is quite matte, it does sometimes tend to stick to dry spots as the day wears on. I have mixed a tiny bit of argan oil into my moisturizer before putting on this foundation and it seems to help a little bit.
-The price. But you get what you pay for right? And a little does go a long way, so I am not really looking at it as a CON.
So far no break outs. In fact, I feel like it "dries" out any existing acne that I do have. I will update if this causes any irritation of breakouts. LOVE this foundation. Too early to say if it's HG, but it's looking pretty probable.
UPDATE: I noticed that this doesn't wear as long as I'd like and it does cause a little skin congestion, but people have taken notice about my skin. Even when I tried to buy Dior Flawless, the SA at Sephora said "why would you change foundations? What you're wearing looks awesome!" So that cemented it in stone for me. I still think there is a little color difference between my face and neck, but it matches perfectly with the rest of my tanned body right now. So happy with this and I think I will stop straying for now. :)

I'm not big on liquid foundations at all, but mineral powders aren't quite doing it for me any more. So I tried this. It really doesn't feel like foundation, which makes me happy. And I like my shade, 2.0, a lot. There's no debate about whether it's too yellow or too pink. It just looks right. This never happens! I hope it won't make me break out when the weather gets steamy, but we shall see.

Love this! Together with Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua, this is my foundation HG. Lightweight, ultra blendable light to medium, natural, demi-matte coverage. Colour range is impressive (compared to what you usually get in Asia). I use it with the Optical Blurring brush and finish with Guerlain's Meteorites loose powder to frequent compliments. I've not tried it with a primer yet as I find it relatively long wearing but will probably experiment with that one of these days. As for the nourishing ingredients claim I can't attest to that as it wasn't a main driver for me to try this anyway.
I was a B20 for the Vitalumiere and I use 5.0 for UD.

I love love this foundation! I used to hate liquid foundation as it feels heavy, fake and too made up on me until one day a pretty Sephora lady recommended this baby to me and matched me to 3.0,,, I was hesitant at first as it is "liquid" and I'm not going to any ball or prom or somethin' LOL.. anyway, she told me to give it a try and see and feel for myself.. oh well what can I say since I have used it I got a lot of compliments telling me that I have a great skin! Plus it really is weightless and I really almost forgot that I'm wearing a "liquid" foundie ....and lastly, it didn't break me out.. lovely! BTW, i use UD optical blurring brush in applying this baby and it really creates an airbrush finish.. <3

Love this product! Has good coverage but lets you natural "naked" skin show through! I think I will be switching this product out for my mac studio sculpt.
For reference, I am nc25 in mac studio sculpt and am 3.0 in naked skin. Matches perfectly!
Giving it a 4 overall just because its a little pricey! But still worth it I think.

I was disappointed in the matteness of this makeup.
I have combo skin but no breakouts and this was way too matte for an over 50 woman. it screams "I'm wearing makeup", which I dont need. Thank goodness it was a sample I got. Threw out out after 2 uses.

Not for women with dry skin. I do have to say this covers very well and a little goes a long way but this is for sure a matte foundation, at least it is on me. No glow at all, I also have VERY fine lines and this just made them worse. Disappointing, I'll stick with my loreal for my dry skin.

Olive skinned women....there are lots of us....ahem....
middle eastern, asian, latin, southern european...
portugese, brazilian, turkish, ecuadorian, italian, indian, pakistani, arab, lebanese, afghan, tajik, mexican, guatemalan....get my point? and we olive skinned women are IGNORED by every single makeup brand out there!
I need a foundation that MATCHES, COVERS, and DOESN'T break me out. This does all those things. THANK YOU SO MUCH, URBAN DECAY!!! <3
I have the SHADE 4.0.........it MATCHES for a Light Olive woman. HOLY GRAIL. For reference, the MAC NC 25 is "similar" but even MAC colors suck in comparison. They are mostly orange or white. Not kidding. I have samples.
Only downer--- $$$. Naked Skin is forty dollars, plus tax. But considering nothing else comes close....if this was ever discontinued, I would clear out my bank account to pay for it. Seriously, if you ever even think about it, I will buy every last case. CALL ME. ;)

I just recently switched back to wearing foundation instead of my beloved tinted moisturizers and was attracted to UD's Naked Skin because of the texture and coverage. I did not want a heavy foundation, but I wanted more coverage than my typical tinted moisturizers were giving me. I really think this is a great option if that's what you're looking for. Personally, I think the color selections are great for this foundation (I use 1.0) and almost anyone can find a great match, especially since this foundation isn't as dense and some of your natural skin tone can shine through.
I like this foundation a lot because it's pretty lightweight and very blendable. I also like the formula because it's smooth to apply and is a nice, demi-matte; not too dewy but not starkly matte. I know I'm probably buying into the marketing gimmick but I truly believe pairing this with UD's Good Karma foundation brush (meant to be used with Naked), gives the best application and finish. It really helps to blur out imperfections and makes my skin look smooth and radiant. Which is always a plus, right? ;)
As for wear time, I find it to be about average. I use this over moisturizer and primer and under setting powder. Sometimes I do have to blot my face a little after about 4-6 hours but, then again, I do live in the South!
I also like the packaging this comes in and find that this foundation goes a longgg way for me. I generally use one gentle pump for my whole face.
If you're looking for a heavy, full coverage foundation than this probably isn't for you. But if you are wanting some lightweight coverage to smooth out your skin, I'd definitely recommend this!

I tried this after receiving a sample with a Sephora order. I love it. It is thin, but gives good coverage and doesn't feel heavy at all. Most of my cosmetics are Clinique brand, but I'm sticking with my UD Naked Skin. It is a bit pricey, but you get 1 fl ounce and it does go a long way.

I've been a huge fan of Clinique foundations for the longest time but my love for UD eye, lip, and cheek products had me itching to give this foundation a shot and I'm ever so glad I did! I'm a redhead with a lot of pink/red undertones (and freckles to boot!) so finding a good color to match my skin tone has always been tricky. I found my perfect shade in 5.5. I was instantly impressed with the coverage (I have mild rosecea on my cheeks and chin) but weightlessness of this product. I do have a bit of oiliness in my T zone so I normally have to follow my foundation up with a powder, which I really don't like to do because I prefer a more dewy look to my face. I was so happy to see that, after applying this foundation, no powder was necessary due to the semi-matte finish! I was left with a very soft glow that literally took severall years off my face. My skin feels fabulous when I wear this product and I no longer have to wear the green color corrector for my rosecea. I literally forget I'm wearing makeup at all! The coverage is buildable so you can go easy for a casual look or layer it a little heavier for a more glamorous night on the town. I wear mine with the UD Complexion Primer Potion so it stays with me from the time I put it on until I scrub it off before bed. UD nailed it with this product. Grab a bottle and see for yourself-you won't be disappointed!

went to sephora last night and got this, i really am loving the foundation. i was surprised that the SA swatched me at level 7 because this is my "winter" skin and i am pretty light now and the foundation looks DARK! but im wearing it today and it blended very well. i am NC42 in the summer and C4 in the winter. very smooth, light texture and most importantly (for me, oily queen) MATTE finish! its been 4 hours now and no touch ups! ill probably have to jump to a 9.0 when the summer hits. anything with an even number (7.0) is a warm undertone (golden/yellow) and the odd numbers are cool toned (pink/beige) (7.5). awesome foundation, ladies with oily skin try this! i would say light-medium finish but i will try to build it up and update how the coverage is. i only give 5 stars for a perfect match but this is almost there!

This product is amazing. 4.0 matches my olive skin with yellow undertones perfectly. 5.0 is a little too pink and 6.0 is nice to mix with my 4.0 whenever I get darker for the summer time. I will buy this foundation over and over again. The color is just absolutely perfect which has been so difficult for me to find.
Also, this foundation feels great, like you are wearing nothing at all. It provides a heavier coverage than BB creams and can be buildable without looking streaky. I would recommend using a concealer underneath problem areas and a powder for your t-zone. My combination skin has always required something extra for my t-zone, but this foundation helps with oil control a lot.

I have used many foundations from
Different brands. These include both high street and branded foundations.
Since I discovered urban decay I was blown away! It came out flawless and stayed put throughout the day (I have very oiley skin)l I also used the oil control setting spray which also by urban decay and is a supeb product!!
The foundation comes in many shades and is super lightweight feels like I have NOTHING on my face... From using many foundations in the past this is my number one! i have recommended this to couple of people and they LOVE IT!
The only down thing about this I found was the packaging, I don't know if this has happened to anyone before but my bottle has started to leak a little :( other than that I would DEFINALTY buy this product again :)))

I love that this foundation really does feel like you're wearing nothing...I had no problem finding my colour...I have warm undertones so all the ones labeled with a 0.5 fall under cool tones and the solid numbers would be the foundations with warm undertones...I was debating between 5.0 and 6.0, the 6.0 however was just a tad darker then my skintone so I went with 5.0... It matches me beauifully, it goes on smoothly, very blendable. The coverage is light-medium, you will likely have to use concealer on your blemishes as I found the foundation evened out my skin, gave me a nice matte, yet glowy look, but you could still see the blemishes through the foundation. This would be a great foundation for everyday wear, however, on special occasions, I would prefer to use a foundation with more coverage. Either way, I would definitely repurchase this foundation!
