I am a huge carine roitfeld fan girl so I was thrilled beyond belief when this launched. I know I am a bit late on the review but here goes. I LOVE the packaging. Yup! That's about it. Completely sheer with a weird shimmery and drying pay off. Such a disappointment. I also find the name weird for something to do with the chic carine. Just weird all around. Better luck next time MAC.

I bought this very sheer, peachy nude in a fit of dispair at a MAC counter. I was slathered in about 50 different pinky red tones, and totally overloaded. I saw this in a display, and the sheer wash of soft peach looked heavenly in the tube. Once home- and calmed down- I was sorry to see the color was, well, nothing. Nada. A glorified $20 lip balm. A tinted Burts Bee's would give me the same look. I use it as a lip balm, and it does feel nice, no funny smells, and I guess I will use it as a top coat for a darker shade. Would not buy again. Nope.

This lipstick is very sheer but it tones down my lips as they are pretty pigmented. Nice nude color to go with and everyday smokey eye or effortless makeup look. Not too drying but color doesnt last long. Need to reapply within an hour. If you are looking for something easy to put on in a rush this would work but if you want a nude that is more pigmented i would look into another lippie (mac's myth would be a good try).

So...I was sucked into the hype for the Carine Rothfield collection. I got the Desert Camoflauge face palette-may return cuz nothing spectacular about it- and the Tropical Mist Lustre lippie. I was hemming and hawing about keeping it because it's very sheer and kinda like glorified lip balm...but...I love lippies that I can slick on without liner or a mirror to just give my lips a little oomph and sophistication-a muted nude mlbb. Well, Tropical Mist does just that! I have light-medium pigmented lips and this color has a very slight peach tint and it mutes my lips just a tad to give it a polished look. Since it's a Lustre formula, I put on a few layers. Great with smokey eyes. I'm NC30, Asian with yellow undertones.
