I bought this eyeliner in black. I'm a big fan of a dramatic eye, and bought this for a quick fix smokey eye when I'm in a hurry. The product is promising, a promising concept which suffers in execution and final application.

The pros are the creaminess of the product, the size- which makes for comfortable application, and the inclusion of the blending tool at the other end. However, Master Smokey suffers from poor pigment quality, despite claims that it is ultra-pigmented. I have used other kohl liners, which have had a beautiful black pigment, but once MS is applied it is a quite light and weak, creating a dark grey look, as opposed to the super dark black that I want and expect from a kohl liner. Once smoked out, it is even worse, becoming even lighter- a flaccid version of what a smokey eye should be. It requires alot of application, which is time consuming and therefore the very purpose of buying this product. Secondly, the packaging is awful! The cap for the blending tool NEVER stays on, which is irritating and unhygienic.

I will not be buying this product again- it doesn't give me what I want, and I'm assuming what most people want. It is an okay product which needs to be reformulated and repackaged so that it can fully deliver on its promise of a masterful smokey eye.

Age: 25-29   Skin: Very Dry, Fair, Cool   Hair: Blond, Straight, Coarse   Eyes: Blue

I found the MASTER SMOKEY is easy to apply, as it doesn't drag across my eyelid or scratch the sensitive skin and the line applies with a even colour in one stroke. It is also easy to smudge the colour out. This is where my problems start, as it is too easy to smoke out - the smudger works more like an eraser for me.

Rather then this being a fast and easy alternative to using eyeshadow, I find myself having to take ten minutes blending, shaping and layering my MASTER SMOKEY until I get a nice, wearable look. Then comes problem two; this is NOT 'long lasting'. I'll look in the mirror after about six hours and there will just be a little colour in my crease, the rest of the liner will have vanished. My skin is dry and setting the liner with powder makes no difference. Ican set it with eyeshadow, but that defeats the purpose of using it for a smokey look in the first place.

It's a shame; I bought the MASTER SMOKEY on a 3 for 2, and love the colours [I have black, grey and navy]. The pencil itself is very nice; not too hard, not too soft, but the size and price is pretty bad for using this purely as a liner. Rimmel's kohl pencils are cheaper, but smudge better.

I'm also pretty disappointed with this product. I got it in 'violet' but for some reason it was the only violet in the store and there wasn't even a stand for it!

I was really excited to try it out and thought it would be a soft, smudgy effect but like the first reviewer has said, it's really quite tough and you have to press quite hard on the eye area to get a good line.

I don't think the colour is that great either. It's supposed to be 'violet' but comes out more a very very dark aubergine, almost black. I have purple eyeshadows which are better than this when applied with a wet brush.

For £6 I think this is a bit of a rip off and won't be repurchasing.

This product on the face of it looks great. It is a double-ended chunky kohl pencil with a smudger on the other end. I never have much luck with smokey eyes so thought I would get it as part of a buy one get one free offer.

Firstly, I feel the pencil is just a touch too hard. It dragged on my lid and didn't deposit enough colour. I bought the black, which was more of a grey on my skin. It also comes in navy, chocolate, grey and violet by the way.

The spongey smudger is nice, but as the pencil is fairly hard it doesn't seem to smudge as much as I would like.

Overall, I didn't hate the look it gave me, and I'll probably use it again. But to be honest, I prefer a much smudgier look to my smokey eyes which this just didn't give, so it'll just be a quick fixer if I haven't got time.

Disappointed.
