I love perfumes in general but the fruity category is one of the trickiest for me. Most of the times fruity perfumes smell synthetic and juvenile or plain syrupy - which is something I can't take. I want them to smell fresh, natural, juicy and realistic.
I really believe blackberry and bay fulfills my expectations. At first I get lots af grapefruit and less berries - stays that way for a while. I don't get floral elements. The drydown is definitely unisex with vetiver, cedar and the interesting twist of bay.
Low sillage and moderate longevity.
If you're looking for an uber feminine long lasting scent look further. But personally I love it because it smells natural and energizing, upbeat and uplifting. Would repurchase.

It smells like cologne for men not for women. I'm still trying to scrub the smell off me. I told my boyfriend it would smell good on him and he should were it, but I myself don't like to smell like a dude.

I wasn't a huge fan of this perfume. I couldn't really smell the blackberry - it smelled more like grapefruit and bay leaves to me. Also "grassy". It smells nice when you first put it on, but the scent dissipates rather quickly. I took my sweater off after spraying this cologne on and put it on hours later and it smelled light and manly, not at all what I want in a perfume. Luckily I only received a sample of this and won't be purchasing the whole bottle.

Started well but I'm really hating the drydown: cheap 'n nasty, and not in a good way :(

I usually shy away from Jo Malone scents as they are merely colognes meant for the commoner....the peasents but Blackberry and Bay is awesome. Probably the reason i gave it a try is because (if you are familiar with my reviews) you know i love scents with blackberries. It is not an outstanding, truely authentic scent of blackberries but it is close...nice. The blackberry scent kind of gets nudged out of the way from the grapefruit note. What really makes this fragrance stand out is the bay note. It really does smell like a big pot of pasta cooking on the stove with two or three bay leaves added. The fragrance also has a nice note of twigs or bramble or hay gathered in a basket. I like to think i am 10 or 11 years old and gathering a big armful of nice smelling twigs, hay and bramble and bringing it home as a present to my parents. It is a very clean smelling fragrance that i have gotten TONS of compliments on and it is easily wearable by both men and women alike but it is probably leaning closer to masculine.

I expect complex and sophisticated scents from Jo Malone, the simple and timeless packaging for me is the true stand out point for this brand, though i love their home candles, only a few of their scents would make me want to purchase the bottles at full price.

Blackberry and Bay, pretty much smells EXACTLY like YSL babydoll, which I loved as a teen, I just never saw Jo Malone as a brand that caters to the younger, teenager crowd, maybe this will serve as a "mix" with their other scents, but as a stand alone, there are much better choices out there.

This was absolutely awful on me. A very sharp opening of grapefruit and what smelled like old, dried bay leaf that never stopped. No blackberries, no cedar, no vetivier, no floral notes--just Raid and bathroom cleaner. Awful.

I have been searching for a perfume I like for ages and had all but given up and settled on ones I thought were quite nice. Then whilst shopping the other day i stumbled on the launch of Jo Malone's Blackberry and Bay Cologne - I LOVE IT!! Such a gorgeous fresh, fruity, zingy yet warm and Autumny fragrance. My only problem is the scent only lasts about 2 hours on me!! I have been spraying on my clothes to try to prolong it. I was happy with the price of the product when I bought it but since I am constantly having to re-apply it and using more than I normally would it is going to run out 5 times quicker than any other perfume i've had. I haven't used JM before so i'm not sure if all of the Colognes are like this...Having said that at the moment I would repurchase as I can't get enough of the scent!

Interesting scent.. I still don't know how I feel about it. The first thing that came to mind when I smelled it was childhood memories of picking tomatoes in the garden with my grandma. I keep a sample vial in my purse out of pure nostalgia.

I got a sample of this when I bought Jo Malone's White Jasmine and Mint.
Blackberry & bay is bold (maybe more suitable for man). I mix this with White Jasmine and Mint and to me it smells like Nectarine and honey.
To me Blackberry & bay lasts longer and it has better sillage compared to others Jo Malone's fragrances (maybe except for Nectarine &honey).
I use Nectarine & honey for my home and I think I will use Blackberry & bay as scented candle instead of body cologne. But that is just my opinion. My advice is try it first before you buy.

First of all, I love the clean, simple bottle with the silver top. So Classy!! I have worn this for several days now and keep trying to find the grapefruit top note that is stated in so many reviews. I knew it wasn't grapefruit that I was smelling but something else, and it FINALLY dawned on me....... It's green tomato leaves!!! Fresh, dewy, green tomato leaf. This lasts for an hour before the blackberry and floral notes start coming into play. It typically lasts 8 -10 hrs on me and changes throughout the dry down. This is such a unique fragrance and I honestly can't think of anything similar to it. I'm SO amazed that someone finally came up with a blackberry fragrance that isn't sickening sweet or suited for teens. This is definitely a grown up scent, unisex and truly unique!!

This is the newest release being promoted. It's supposed to smell fruity, refreshing, outdoorsy. Well, it's only fruity upon initial application, not that juicy. Not at all sweet, which is fine, but the drydown happens right away, leaving the very light fragrance of a man's cologne. I guess that's the bay aspect. It fades within an hour, which is somewhat typical of this line, but even the first hour wasn't memorable or enjoyable. So at this price point, what's the point? The scent is more suitable for a room candle. Thumbs down from me. Bath and body works is better, even for the fall scented room candles category. That tells you something. Then again, Slatkin is a very reputable fragrance blender. Tsk, Jo Malone. Why even bother?
