I was looking for something to give my asian, fine, limp hair some life. This did not give me BIG hair, but it did give me a good amount of volume and texture which I'm satisfied with. I was worried when I saw "gel" in the description, because I was afraid it would be too heavy, but it's not. My hair kept its volume for most of the day.
I pumped one full pump to my hands, rubbed it in my palms, and applied it to my WET hair (if you use it on dry hair, you'll be left with crunchy hair). I use a brush to distribute the gel evenly. I blow dry as I lift my hair with a brush, then voola, I have big hair without the stickiness and hardness. I notice that if I don't work it into my hair well, I do get crunchy hair. The product has an initial unpleasant smell. It smelled like medicine to me, but the smell went away.

This product does what is says...adds volume and texture. And the fragrance is lovely! Works for me when I wear my hair in its natural wavy state, or blown straight. Not cheap, but not outrageously priced either. Wish it was easier to distribute, if I use too much when going for the wavy look, it gets a bit crunchy, the crunch does soften at the end of the day, but don't want to wait that long. If I don't use enough for the straight looks, I dont get enough hold. Oh well. Not fond of the pump dispenser, the product dries at the tip of the spout, and clogs it up. I think I'd buy it again though.

I have very, very, very! baby fine hair... my hair is so thin that I used to put tons of products in it just to make it look full. Not anymore! This Volumizing Gel is my HG, it immediately thickens my hair once I apply it to my roots then work my way down to the ends. And it smells amazing. After I'm done washing my hair, I let my hair air dry for about 10 minutes, and then I apply this gel and then blow-dry with a round brush and it gives me amazing volume and body, as well as texture. And thats all I need. The only problems I could see someone having with this gel is, it's not good to apply to dry hair because it'll get crunchy and also not a good product to put in your wet hair and then air dry completely because like all other gels I've tried, it'll make your hair stiff. So when using this product blow your hair dry! The packaging is also cool, a nice little pump and the price (I purchased mine for $12.95) is totally worth it.

Part of the thing I like the best about this product is the packaging. That it comes in a small pump bottle makes it easy to dose out in the mornings. I like the consistency of it too because it seems to "rub into" my roots quite nicely. One thing I have noticed with this stuff is that if it's not combed through the hair or distributed evenly, it will dry my hair into "chunks." But, if I brush through these "chunks," they'll break apart without white flakes from the gel. I'd buy this product again and hopefully, I'll once again find it on sale for 80% off!

I have been using this gel for about 5 days now, and I am so glad I bought it! I was actually in Ulta looking for something else, and I happened upon this and the "Volume" part of the title caught my eye. Lord knows I can always use a little more volume in my fine, limp hair! Well, this seems to do the trick, and I am very happy with it. It does not build-up on my brushes when I blow dry like other styling products I have used do- and it doesn't build up on my hair, either! I just wish I tried this gel sooner...EDIT 2/12/06:I just came back to make sure I gave this baby the 5 stars it deserves! [Heck, I'd give it 10 if I could!!!] If you are a fine-haired girl, you NEED this gel! I can't believe the difference between using this gel (great hair days) and when I switch off to another brand of gel (terrible hair days). Textureline Volume Gel, you've spoiled me!!! :o) Thank you!

Did nothing for my hair. Just made it crunchy/sticky if I let it air dry too long. Plus, if I don't use it every day, the gel lodges in the dispenser and then when you try to squirt it out--it sprays all over. Big mess. Smells good, but did nothing for my slippery/flyaway hair. No volumizing, no texturizing, doesn't hold a style.

This gel worked just o.k. for me, but as far as giving hair volume, it works okay. However, my hair felt dry after I used it and it didnt make my hair much shinier, but yea, it does a good job in the volume department, and doesnt weigh hair down or flake. But for my money I would also like a gel that adds shine as well as make my hair feel nice (not dry...)

Great Gel! First gels I used were terrible (sticky, flaky, etc.), so never again planned on using a gel, but a stylist put it on my hair and really liked it! I have lots of hair but very fine so I need volume products!! Best gel ever tried!

I liked the gel very much. Gave nice body and hold. The pump applicator is handy but can get clogged if you don't use this frequently. Only complaint is that when I used this daily I thought there was a build up.

PROS: adds volume without lots of stickiness, pump dispenser, pleasant fruity scent; COMMENTS: I use this when blowdrying; it's good but not as good as J.F. Lazartigue's hair volume tonic (but the J.F. Lazartigue tonic is much more expensive)

This is one of the better gels I've tried! It's light, not sticky, and gave my hair the body it needed for styling and a little volume as well (I have super-baby-fine hair). It has that nice kiwi scent, and I like the little pump container.
