I've tried quite a few products in the shea range now, and this is of good quality, but not stellar. I've peeling and scabby skin all round my nails, that sometimes bleeds. This comes in lovely packaging, with a thin tipped dispenser so that you can apply sparingly and accurately. But it doesn't hydrate enough for my damaged cuticle area, and seems to disappear after an hour. That said, it smells nice, sinks in very quickly and doesn't dull your mani. The best I've found so far in terms of results is Flexitol nail and cuticle cream.

I like this nail cuticle cream , but I am not crazy about it. It does a good job right now but you have to re apply once you wash your hands. I have had some cuticle creams that stay on that will not entirely wash off, after the first appliciation. Perhaps my cuticles are really soak it up a lot of the cream.=)

This stuff works great. It comes in a 15mL squeeze tube with a navy plastic cap, the packaging very typical of L'Occitane products, minimalist and elegant.
You only need a tiny dot on each nail, it is a bit greasy when first applied but sinks in quickly and absorbs really well. It makes nails moisturized but not soft (more flexible!) and reduces the occurrence of dryness, snags and tears in both cuticle and edges of the nail bed.
It can be used as a cuticle cream (to push them back with an orange stick gently, just apply a bit more generously to the cuticle itself) if you don't have a cuticle remover handy. I keep one at home with my general nail kit and one on my desk at work (mostly because my computer takes an eon or so to boot up so I manage my time wisely by putting this on while I wait for it to behave). It has a fairly innocuous, vaguely powdery smell, not my favourite but not terrible or anything.
It leaves nails glossy, well nourished and healthy looking. It doesn't really help with my chronic peeling (I didn't expect it too) but it has improved the overall appearance of my nails.
My best friend loves it too!

This is a really good product. It will not only soften and moisturize your cuticles it will nourish your nails and make them stronger. I'm on my third tube and I love this stuff. It has a pleasant but very mild smell. You only need a tiny amount on each nail and it will soak right up.
Just like the other reviewers said I also believe it makes your nails grow faster and stronger.
When I was on holiday in the Atacma desert, which is the driest place on earth I used this, because my nails were in hell, breaking tearing and all, after applying this they looked as healthy as can be. In one word: AMAZING.
It makes your nails look really beautiful and healthy. I'm glad they changed the metal tube packaging they had before into a plastic one, because it's a lot sturdier and won't break. Have repurchased 3 times and will repurchase again and again

This stuff works!! Twice now, I have used it on dry, torn, and sometimes bleeding cuticles. It does heal them. I use different products for my hands and cuticles, but I am going to try and always order two. One for home and one for work.
Another great thing, my nails grow so quickly when using this!! And they grow out strong.

This product is a miracle for me. My nails were very frail, dry and thin previously. Before I started using this I would just put some of my moisturizer, which is amazing for my skin, on my nails and cuticles. That helped to an extent, but considering how dry my nails were it wasn't enough. After I started using this my cuticles became super healthy and didn't look shredded as they usually did. My nails look and feel smoother and have become much thicker, and can withstand damage. I would recommend this to anyone with nail problems. The 0.5oz tube has lasted me over a year even though I apply it 2-3 times a day.

I keep this cuticle cream in my purse and use it once a day. I keep saying I'm going to get another vial to keep at my desk. After using for at least 3 months, my nail beds are much healthier. I agree with the other reviewers who describe consistency as gooey and creamy, but I dont mind because I want my hangnails to drink in all the juice they can get! That said, I really like the size, think its a great value, and I have seen noticeable improvement over time with consistent use.

This is very much like a concentrated version of the L'Occitane shea butter hand cream which I also use. The packaging is very similar - metal tube - but much smaller!
I have only been using it a few days but already I feel it has made a difference to the hard skin round my nails.I have tried several other products which promised to do this but failed to deliver.
It's a really thick cream - 30% shea butter as opposed to 20% in the hand cream. Also contains anti-oxidizing carrot oil, softening honey and anti-bacterial myrrh essential oil. The tube has a very handy fine pointed nozzle so you can apply it directly from the tube.

OK product - moisterised my cuticles pretty well but not overly impressive. Is quite sticky, one of the most sticky cuticle products I've tried.
Have tried Lush's "Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter" since and it's a lot better at moisterising.
Great packaging although it gets hard as you get towards the end of the tube (the metal tube can tear a bit and you could get a little leakage). Plus, it's what's inside that counts... fancy packaging doesn't always mean a great product.

I use this as a cuticle cream.
I have horrible, dry cuticles with hangnails. This is one of my HG nail products. I carry it in my purse, and apply 2 - 5 times per day.
The smell is okay, and the texture is like a thick lotion, but it's not greasy. It comes in a little silver tube with a long pointy applicator, so it's nice that you can apply to both hands without getting any product on your fingers.
Update 4/16/08: I can't get over how amazing this product is. If I get lazy and don't use it for even a day, I can see the difference in my cuticles. Also, I don't know if i'm imagining this, but my nails look healthier and shinier with regular use, like they look after I've buffed my nails.

First off, this isn't a bad product. My cuticles were very dry and haggard, and with about a week or so of constant use, they looked better. The packaging is nice because it allows for less product waste, and the tip everyone talks about is nice (although my fingers still all touch the creme when I am rubbing it in....). The smell is fine, too. So why wouldn't I re-purchase? Simply because I bought the little tin of 100% shea butter creme the other day and I saw better results IMMEDIATELY. The tins of shea butter are $8 each, meaning you can buy almost 3 for the price of one tube of the cuticle creme. That means one in your purse, one in your desk and one at your night table......perfect!

Contains 30% shea butter but I don't find it's doing anything positive or negative for my cuticles. My cuticles are a little dry but there's no peeling or anything.
I like the applicator tip and that's about it. Would not buy again.

Great product, HG status. I have very dry nails/cuticles and this instantly creates the appearance of gorgeous "done", well cared for nails.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous cuticle cream. Tiny tube, but super-concentrated and lasts for ages.
I have had crap nails all my life, not improved by biting them. I recently had my first ever professional manicure - very very frightening. I tried to cope with terror by engaging my Curist in conversation on nail and hand maintenance. Apparently I have dry skin (no surprises there) and, associated in part with this, hangnails. Now, I'd often heard about the hangnail, but had no idea what it corresponded to in reality. A bit of nail hanging off the end of one's finger? No, that's just Talons. Hanging off the edge? Like, growing to the left or right of the formal edge of the nail? Weird, but who knows. Anyway, I now know what a hangnail is, and it's that dry rough dead skin around the cuticles and going up the nail - you know the stuff, that's so wonderful to chew on. And then, before you know it, all self-control is lost, resolutions abandoned, and you're biting your nails again.
But not if you rub this stuff in around AND ONTO the nails on a regular basis. My hands actually look quite elegant now. I do rub this stuff in religiously, though, keeping a tube by my computer and with me when reading (that being part of actual work, and no I'm not a student; and a major risk-area for playing with nails, squeezing zits, chewing hair, etc.).
There are probably many other squeezy tubes of gunk out there that work; put in enough oily stuff, of the right consistency and skin-friendliness, and functionality is assured. This still gets 5 lippies.
And the extra bonus tips: (1) Soak hands in a bowl of warm water with some oil in it (olive, avocado, jojoba, etc. - whatever takes your fancy; a tub of warmed lard would probably be ace) for about 10 mins. after removing varnish, and before applying some anew. This was passed on by the Curist. (2) Olive oil and fine-grain salt scrub. See review elsewhere.
Also, the L'Occitane cream does more for my nails than protective bases etc. (ex. Nail Envy). Marvellous.

I use this every night after the 20% shea hand cream and it keeps my nails strong and my cuticles moisturised. I don't have a problem with dry brittle nails because I never use nail polish or anything like that, but I do think it improves my nails and cuticles regardless and I like the nightly self pampering :)

I got this whilst getting my Loccitane shower cream. Being a constant nail polish lover i realised that i needed soemthing for my nails. I wasnt really into the idea of using Sally Hensen products and decided to try something more natural. This cream is totally sticky and creamy. It feel really heavy on my skin so i use this before going to bed. On really cold nights i use this and then use gloves. The smell is reall strong so if you dont like it i suggest you use it at night so it doesnt bother you too much. My nails have always been healthy and grows realy fast but with the added nourishment it looks great and i am more confident to add on another layer of polish. I use this twice a week as it is pricey compared to other nail and cuticle creams. But would definately buy again as i am constantly falling for Loccitane products.

I love the tiny silver tube, lasts forever and you can roll it up to get all the product out. So maybe the price is worth it. Great for use on airplanes. The scent is a bit strong grandma-ish but it's tolerable. Gives lots of moisture and protection. It is sticky for a few minutes till it absorbs. Try it! **Much better than Burt's Bee's lemon cuticle stuff... that didn't do too much for me except smell nice.

I am an avid user of nail polishes. I use them every week and will only allow my nails to breathe overnight before I start painting them again. I love this one! I use it after removing the polish, rub them in before I sleep. I just love the way it moisturises my nails the next morning.

I had a horrible dry patch of skin on my thumb this past winter. Wne ti nto a L'Occitane store and tried a little of this. It seemed to work immediately, so i went back to buy a tube. It actully healed the area. i mean, this was a horrible dry patch, I picked at it because it itched. Bled sometimes, oh it was bad. This cream is a lifesaver for me! i just bought another tube an dkeep it on my desk and in my purse at all times!
