Alterra is German drugstore Rossmann's inhouse brand of organic skincare and makeup products. I had never paid the slightest attention to the small range of Alterra makeup unlovingly shoved into a corner of my local Rossmann until someone recommended the line to me in general...lo and behold I have found several winners in this tiny range, first and foremost this lipstick.
"Terra" looks an unfetching shade of brown in the tube and the name does little to add interest, but on my (naturally very pigmented) lips this is an uncanny dupe for MAC "Twig". It's simply a very classy, brownish-pink neutral lipstick with excellent pigmentation (as good as MAC's, amazingly enough), great lasting power, and a dirt cheap price tag (around 3 EUR.) The packaging isn't anything to write home about, (why must it be so ugly, Rossmann, don't you want to sell this stuff?) and the formulation is ever so slightly drying, but these are minor flaws of a great lipstick at a great price.
