Nordstrom sent me a sample of this with some makeup I ordered. It is overbearing, cloying, way too sweet and headache inducing. Usually I give away sample vials I do not care for , but that I think my daughter or a friend might like. I actually put the vial of La Vie Est Belle in a ziplock so it would not stink up my garbage can. Yes, that is how godawful I thought this was.
I rated this a 3 on packaging and price because I have no idea what they are. I wish MUA would let us not rate those for fragrance, but I can never seem to post a review without having to do so.

Ah La vie belle. When I first smelled I fell in love and KNEW this would be my signature scent. After buying it I am kind of on the fence now. Dont get me wrong this scent smells great and unique but to much fruit for me. This fragrence is by far THE best out of all of the Lancome perfumes and if you want to smell elegant this perfume is the way to go. I do feel that the bottle is a little bit to much, and perfer something more simply

when you first sprits it on it is a blend of britney spears fantasia and escadas moon sparkle, other words- nice but generic. on the drydown it's smells beautiful floral and caramel, reminded me of ysl candy. I tested this in the store on my handwrist and my clothes. now the other day on the morning it's still on my wrists and i can smell it in my room it's smells sweet pear lol. Want the whole bottle for summer, makes you feel happy it's very summery.

I received a sample from Sephora, sprayed it on, and I wish I hadn't. It's just another sweet, sugary, vanilla-y fragrance that stops short of giving me a headache. I'm glad I didn't buy it. As the sweetness fades, an old-fashioned powdery scent emerges, which reminds me of inexpensive DS fragrances of long ago. I expected more from Lancome.

Ugh, this is so SWEET! :o( I just can't wear this or the very similar Flowerbomb (and I have both). La Vie Est Belle is a milder version of Flowerbomb to me -- but they're both just too candy syrupy sweet (and I generally like sweetness).

It gets compliments, however. I once wore it to work, and a coworker immediately said "You smell good!" when she came near me. I have a feeling people are really going to like La Vie Est Belle (Julia Roberts being the face doesn't hurt) -- and it's probably going to be hugely popular, and a big best-seller for Lancome.

I do consider this a crowd-pleaser. If I'm planning to be closely around people, I think wearing LVEB (or Light Blue, or Viva La Juicy) will get a big thumbs-up from anyone who smells it.

This perfume is housed in such a lovely bottle! So chic! At first, it is quite sweet, but then it dries down into a really lovely day scent. I was actually surprised at the complexity of it, and I think I go against all those who complain of its sweetness. It isn't cloying to me, despite the fact that I rarely like the very sweet fragrances. This one is feminine in every sense of the word. And I do think it'd be suitable for all ages.

I smelled this in a magazine ad sample and adored it. When I went to Macy's to try it on that was not the case. It is grossly simple - sweet and nothing else. Drug store Calgon is more complex than this. I can't imagine this being suitable on any age, it's just so overwhelming and obnoxious. I couldn't wait to go home and change after putting this on. The staying power is strong, which in other circumstances would be good. After washing my dress/cardigan that I wore when I sprayed this the scent still lingered. BLAH. Do not reccommend

The initial smell is unappealing-i think it's likely the patchouli and I'm so not a fan of patchouli....but then, that fades and what's left is a delicious caramel, vanilla, creme brulee deliciousness that lasts all day. The longer this perfume sits and mingles with your skin the better it smells. It's warm, inviting and comforting. Love it.

This perfume smells amazing! I've been using jean Paul gaultier classique for years and really fancied a change. I was given a sample of this in a department store and the first time I tried it 4 people asked what perfume I was wearing!
It lasts for hours and is such a gorgeous feminine fragrance.

This smelled lovely and intriguing in the bottle - an irresistible sexy vanilla. When I sprayed it on, however, it went straight to nasty: cigarettes and cherry coke. Jut did not work at all with my chemistry. Too bad, cuz I really loved the scent in the bottle!

In my opinion, this is a better version of V&R Flowerbomb. It's not as heavy or cloying. You don't need a lot of it and the lasting power is great. Sweet and floral. My recent favorite fragrance. Would repurchase!

I went to Sephora looking for a new perfume since I have been wearing the same one for about 10 years now (Burberry Classic) and the sales person suggested this, along with several other ones to me. At first, I really liked it, and told her I wanted to spray myself with it and see how I reacted, since I tend to get really bad headaches from perfumes. She also gave me a tiny sample of it, and so I used it today..at 5 am..it is 745 pm and I can still smell it on me! It DOES last ... but I think maybe a bit too much. I found myself getting a slight headache while at work today from this perfume. It is a really pretty scent, but it hit me I have 2 perfumes similar to this that I don't wear because of the headache factor. I asked my friend for her opinion of the perfume on me and she said it smelled like baby powder...not a good sign! Glad I did not purchase a full size..it's a nice smell- just not for me!

If you like Angel or Womanity by Thierry Mulger, this scent is in the same vein. The iris in this parfum is part of what makes it special. While it might seem too strong at first spritz, it settles nicely and lingers the right amount on your skin. Reasonably priced too, considering the richness of this scent. Lancome's presentation with the gorgeous, heavy glass bottle is stunning, and it makes the liquid inside seem to glow.

Sickeningly sweet and hangs on forever. I haven't liked anything from Lancome in quite a while now (Tresor in Love, Tresor Midnight Rose, Magnifique, Hypnose are all nauseating to me), so I think I need to stop testing their new fragrances. A pity, as I like many of their older ones.

I love this fragrance and so does my husband. It is not too strong and it last all day long and even lingers the next day on my coat or jacket.

Top Note: The elegance of Iris becomes the backbone of the fragrance. It blossoms from the first to the last note like never before.
Middle Note: The strength of Patchouli gives strength and depth.
Base Note: A sweet gourmand adds a burst of unexpected radiance.

I never bought this. I won it. I would not have bought this myself, but I did not give it away even though I find it pretty horrible. I still wear it because it does not give me a headache but it is very generic and it smells just like every other modern perfume creation. It is sweet and sharp, it does not have any soft, round powdery notes that would make one feel womanly and fleshy and warm. It is loud like a teenage girls. It lacks elegance. It reveals too much. It does not wake any interest if I pass this on the street. It is too obviously a perfume. It compares to makeup that is too much and unblended.
