I love this Mascara! It lengthens and doesn't clump on me. However, it dries out really fast I usually need to replace within a month. other than that I love it!

This is pretty great but it weighs down your lashes and my lashes touch my eyelids and about every 5 minutes I have to run off the black from it melting of my lashes onto my lids

This mascara was OK. It lengthened my lashes but it didnt make them more voluminous. It smudged a lot and it didnt hold the curl very well. I won't buy this again.

I got this new and unused on super discount at only $2.00 I now wish I would have bought more. I am always trying to mascaras out and the "falsie look " always entices me lol! This didn't disappoint me. Very black, glossy w/o being obnoxious, it really lengthened and plumped up my lashes. I also love the brush, easy to work with and maneuver around my large eyes. I like the sleek packaging too, its cute. :)

I really liked this mascara, I think it's the wand that does it for me. I don't like the original voluminous, I found it clumpy and too wet, but this formula is very nice. I wouldn't say it gives me false lashes (I don't know what those look like, but I imagine they are more dramatic than mascara) but it does lengthen and define the lashes. it is not volumizing, but it is not what I was looking for. The brush is skinny and allows me to really get to the base of the lashes. I will definitely repurchase.

Why do I always fall for new Voluminous flanker mascaras. I swear this is the same Voluminious mascara formula but just in a sleek shiny black laquered packaging and different name. They made it too wet, so you need time to let it dry and eventually in a minute flattens any curl. The fibers are so fine, micronized and lacking that it doesn't make much of an impact. This would be good for people who have full lashes but for wimpy ones like me it does not compare to good old trusty regular Voluminous. It smudges and will give you major raccoon eyes with normal use.

I have very sparse eyelashes that fall out easily. I liked one of the other Voluminous mascaras, and I like the false fiber mascaras, but none of the glossy look this one advertised. I used this twice before tossing it into the trash. If you have sparse lashes, this does NOTHING to enhance volume. I noticed some added length, but nothing special. Also, the glossy look appears very odd and fake but not in a glamourous way. It looked like I had 8 single eyelashes that were very wet.

I hate this mascara. It flaked and smudged on me like no other mascara I have used. I did not find that I got any special results while using it either. The flaking and smudging would occur within a couple of hours after application also. It is a very dark black, which I like, but that's probably the only positive thing I can say about it. I found the brush too long for my eye shape, so it was difficult to apply without making a mess, but I do like the shape of the brush and the bristles. The shape of the packaging is uncomfortable --- it's not comfortable to hold the wand during application. I will definitely not repurchase this product.

I really love the look I get from this mascara, but it will clump in a heartbeat if you aren't soft with the application.

I love this mascara! It's inky black and volumizes plus adds length like you wouldn't believe. Whenever I wear this my lashes look super fake. The only thing I don't like is it dries out so quickly, but its worth it.

I've been on the hunt for a new mascara for a while now and I randomly ran into this one at walgreens. This is definitely my favorite drugstore mascara. What I really like is that I can recurl my eyelashes after already applying it and it won't clump. Also, I really like the packaging, it's so sleek.

This is an amazing mascara!! Not a ton of length (which is not what I look for anyway since I already have long lashes) but gives amazing volume, without it being clumpy. Love that the brush is tapered so you can really cover all of your lashes. Super black color Doesn't flake. I use this with Maybelline Falsies on top (because I can never use just one mascara). Took a lippie off because it dries out faster than any other mascara I've tried before. Less than 4 weeks after I bought it, it had already dried out. Clump city after that. Price isn't bad though so I have already repurchased a 2nd tube.

This isn't a terrible mascara by any means. On its own, it does provide volume. My problem is that the fibers tend to kind of stick onto the tips of my eyelashes in odd angles making them look bent and off looking..if that makes any sense. I guess what I'm trying to say is that fiber mascaras don't work for me, but if you like them then try this one. It's very black and does provide volume. Just not the mascara for me. Still on the hunt..ugh.

I have previously used many different department store mascaras - MAC Studio Fix, Too Faced Lashgasm, Lancome Hypnose, Diorshow. After a recent eye infection (unrelated to my mascara) I had to toss everything out that I was using and start over. I picked this up at my local Walgreens to try out, and so far I am pretty impressed. First, the packaging is sleek and attractive. The mascara is fairly thick, but not clumpy. The Black Lacquer is a really dark, shiny back. It lengthens and volumizes, and gives a really pretty false lash look. Also, this is easy to remove. (The waterproof version of this is impossible to take off, even with waterproof eye makeup remover!) Overall, I really like this, even when compared to "higher end" mascaras. Will definitely repurchase!

I think this did a decent job with volumizing and no clumps, however did not lengthen whatsoever! I have decently long lashes and even a non lengthening mascara gives me more length then this which has false fibers which are supposed to attach to your lashes and lengthen them. I am disappointed with this mascara, i expected a lot more. I will be returning it most likely

I'm always loved L'Oreal's Voluminous mascaras, starting with the regular, to carbon black, to the collagen one. I didn't care for the Million Lashes version. I like this one very much. The fibers are unobtrusive. They fatten, without making my lashes look like airborne fuzzies got stuck in them when the mascara was wet. Maybelline Illegal Lengths? You are guilty as charged! The brush, I like. It's an actual brush, thin and easily maneuverable, unlike many other big, plastic comb-brushes. It's deep, dark, inky black. My fave higher end mascara is Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes. This is better.

When I first saw the tube of mascara, I was excited. I liked the sleek packaging. From there, everything when downhill. I have fairly long lashes. This didn't lengthen them at all. It made my lashes kind of spikey and strange. The color was nice. It was very dark. I honestly think it's the same as L'oreal's carbon black, only renamed to black lacquer. I'll try and work with this again. However to me, this is a miss.
Edit: I tried this again and upped the rating to 3 lippies. I wiped a lot of the excess mascara off of the wand. I was able to get some length without all of the clumps. Still, I'm not a big fan and won't be buying this again.

Of all the voluminous false fiber mascaras, this is by far my favorite. I love the richness of the black which is darker than blackest black and it still holds a curl. I switched to the waterproof which was better at holding a curl but difficult to remove. This version solves the problem. I also think this version isn't quite as dry and gives a shinier finish. Definitely will repurchase again.

I saw this online featured on blogs and it looked really good on their lashes. I also own the original mascara in black, and yes, this is even blacker. It creates this dark and sooty black lash that looks conditioned. I get long and full lashes, and it does remind me of Benefit They're Real. I will test it for a few more weeks and update if anything changes.

I have purchased and tried all of L'Oreal's False Fiber variations such as Voluminous False Fiber, Voluminous False Fiber Waterproof and now the subject of this review False Fiber Black Lacquer, which is distinguished by its black tube and gold lid as oppose to the all gold tube predecessor.
I enjoyed the original VFF, and especially preferred the waterproof version because it can hold a curl, however, my biggest gripe with both of those versions was that the stopper in those mascaras did not do a very good job and caused too much product to accumulate on the brush when you pull the mascara out of the tube. The brush on all of these versions is long and slim with short bristles, which is excellent for catching every last baby lash (works amazing for the lower lashes). The black lacquer version doesn't appear to have a different brush, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the brush is not packed with product. There could only be two explanation for this: (a) either they had redesigned the brush or (b) they had put in a better stopper. The brush of the black lacquer definitely made it my favourite of the VFF line.
The false fibers are clearly visible to me when I apply it onto my lashes. I can see little strands of fibers that attaches itself to the ends of my lashes to extend its length as well as make it look like I have more lashes than I do. Now, it goes without saying that you will probably get better results if you already have naturally full/long lashes, but coming from someone who has pretty sparse bottom lashes and short upper lashes, I think this mascara is the best there is in the Canadian drugstores at this moment.
I give it a 5/5 and yes, I will repurchase.
