I am not used to liquid foundation and the first time the girl put this on me--I felt I looked weird and my face too covered up. However....when we went for our vacation in Sydney last March--twas hot and sunny BUT I was surprised with how radiant my face looked after 5 hrs under the sun!!!! That was the time that I truly believed in the product and how I loved it!!!! I wore the shade 54 with the Kat Von D primer elixir and its just perfect combination. Its highly pigmented so just like everyone says...a little goes a long way! I used 3/4 of a pump and the price is very reasonable compared to other high end products out there. Definitely, will buy another one!

Holy pigmentation. This stuff covers EVERYTHING. I thought one pump would be enough for just my face, but it covered my neck and I had some left over to dot under the eyes and around my nose. The finish is a modern demi-matte, velvety, and beautiful. Next time, I'm going to use just 3/4 of a pump to get my whole face done. Packing on too much of this will give you cakeyness, so be careful. I applied mine with a flat top kabuki. Texture wise, its super thick and almost whipped in consistency. Blending takes a little extra work because of this, but its nothing you can't work with. Also, drydown seemed fast, so work in sections if possible.
Oil control with this is so-so. I have oily skin thay usually needs to be blotted every 3-4 hours and there was a bit of shine with this. I used it with MACs blot powder.
Overall, the formula is fantastic, though I wished it had more oil control. I purchased mine at Sephora for $34 for 1oz of product.

Love this product!! After reading all these reviews, I have a few comments for the ladies who said it looks to cakey... A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY, one pump is just fine and if your using your finger, I suggest you buy a brush for this foundation. With the foundation having such a thick consistency the brush helps cover the foundation over your face more evenly and makes you look flawless! And for the ladies who say it sinks it to your pores, I suggest using Benefits porefessional as a primer, and I use MAC studio fix pressed powder to set it all in. But over all I highly suggest it if you want full coverage without having to use a concealer.

I Loveeee <3 this foundation ! I've never used anything as good ! & to top it all off it leaves you a flawless look especially when you use the beauty blender <3 <3 (: I would definitely restock on this magical product !! The only thing is before you purchase this product , ask for some assistance so they could match you , because the colors are a little bit odd . But they are definitely worth the money . For me when it comes to makeup , makeup never has a price . Go Buy this product you won't regret it !!

I absolutely love this foundation!!! I have got combo skin that tends to be dry on the cheeks with a lil shine on the nose and chin. I don't have any major issues other then a slight bit of redness, but I am very light and have a pink undertone. I wear shade light 44 and it is GORGEOUS. Tr coverage is the best I've ever seen in my life. Seriously, just one pump is plenty for your whole face. I don't find this to be unnatural looking at all as some have stated, it looks GORGEOUS and like your skin but way way better. It does a great job of controlling shine as well, and I'm ashamed to admit it,lol...but I fell asleep with it on the other night and it did NOT break me out at all! My skin is normally NOT happy if I sleep in makeup, but no problems here! The packaging is great, and if you keep the small plastic piece that snaps into the dispensing hole, you can travel with this easily because it will not pump out with the plastic piece In place. My only complaint about this, is it dries super quickly so you've got to work quick to blend it. I've applied it with Kats foundation brush, a beauty blender, and my fingers and prefer the look and coverage of just using my fingers. It does have a slightly tacky feel to it on the skin, but this doesn't bother me terribly. I don't wear it everyday, but for when I want to look totally flawless, this is my go to! Love love this product!!!

Love Love Love this! This is HG status for me having tried practically EVERY high end foundation on the market. Although, buyers need to be aware that ONE PUMP is seriously all you need for your whole face. For those who are having it settling into fine lines, your using too much product. A little goes a long way! A+++

After the countless reviews I read about this foundation, I had to buy it. I am not amazed with this product at all!! Same quality as any drugstore foundation. I have oily skin and breakout easily. I look for a full cover foundation and long lasting as well. I was a loyal costumer of Estee lauder Double wear but after they changed their formula I had to go on the hunt for the next best thing. This Is NOT IT. I used a face primer along with it and 2 hrs after putting on, my skin looks awful! OILY it basically melted off my face and I'm indoors! I cant even imagine how this foundation performs during those hot summer days. It does not stay put like it says it does. Definitely NOT waterproof. I wont buy again & and i would'nt recommend it at all. I've actually found something close to Estee Lauder D.W but less heavy "SmashBox Studio Skin"

I really wanted to love this product, especially after hearing all the reviews of so many youtubers and makeup artists raving about this. But in all honesty, I was not that impressed. For starters, the packaging is really cute (as it always is with Kat Von D products) and fairly practical (the bottle itself is a really effective pump). However, I had an issue with the texture. I have combination skin. The t-zone of my face can get rather oily, and the foundation I use regularly helps control it. This foundation seems to do the exact opposite for me--It increases the oiliness of my skin, while totally highlighting any little dry spots. The texture isn't just a weird creamy type thing, I can feel the creamyness on my face like I'm wearing an uncomfortable mask. I usually wear a medium coverage foundation, and this one does a fantastic job at LITERALLY masking any flaws--that's how FULL coverage it is. I like to see at least some of my skin through the foundation I always wear, but this one will leave you looking flat and one dimensional (and if you're like me and you don't like to waste time contouring your face, this product will look ridiculous). The color selection is great, and it does match my skin very well, almost perfectly, but I would rather wear a color that is slightly off, blended into my neck, than to put a product this cakey and uncomfortable on my skin. I can just feel it sinking into my pores and potentially causing breakouts. It also oxidizes TERRIBLY. It matches my skin tone when I initially put it on, but by the end of the day, it's about two shades darker than it should be. Returning asap.
I would only suggest this to someone who is not prone to breakouts/is not oily-skinned at all/doesn't have any kind of dryness whatsoever/literally no wrinkles. So basically, if you have perfect skin, you might like this, but what's the need of a foundation when you don't have skin insecurities in the first place?

I got a sample of this from Sephora. The lightest colour is awesome for my super pale skin which almost nothing else matches, so that was nice. It fades quite evenly on my super oily skin, but it sunk into my pores a bit too much. Overall, it lasted about two hours on me (this is with Milk of Magnesia as a primer and Maybelline Dream Matte powder on top). It also didn't control oil.

I love the edgy packaging. I only have a sample, since it's all out of stock. It gives the most AMAZING full coverage and hides all my acne scars. I definitely have to get the full when it's restocked.

This product isn't bad... it's just not for me. The coverage surpasses any other liquid I've ever used but this is both good and bad. If it's not EXACTLY your skin tone or if it oxidizes even the tiniest bit throughout the day, then it's completely obvious. Also, on me at least, it wouldn't keep matte even with the use of a mattifier, primer, and setting powder. The initial finish is beautiful (p.s. make sure to add some color back to your face with blush or highlighter/bronzer because otherwise it's so full coverage you'll look very dull and unnaturally one-toned) I just couldn't get it to hold up.
I would suggest this product for people with more normal than oily skin for the reasons I mentioned above (oxidation and melting off). I wish I could make this work but I tried and tried and just couldn't.
My last bit of advice is less is more. It's so thick and full that you should start with about half of what you normally use in liquid foundation.
Good luck to everyone else!

I wanted to love this because when I tried it in the store, it looked like it might actually cover my under-eye circles. No go. I have combination skin and this product cakes and flakes on my face on contact. Wrinkles I didn't even know I had are suddenly loud and proud. Even when I use less than half a pump to tint my moisturizer it looks like clown paint. Covering it with a mineral powder just makes it look worse.
It might work for people who are either much younger than I am or used to wearing a lot more makeup, but it makes me look like Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard.

This is one heavy duty foundation...if you need/want full coverage this is it. I can ususally go without concealor when I use it. I actually have the perfect color M52, when my skin is misbehaving, not a smooth as I like it, I reach for this. Nothing bad to say and will repurchase in the future.

I didn't like this. Color match was good but it settled in my pores and got cakey even when I used a primer. Was also very oily after 4 hours even though I used setting powder and setting spray.

Other Foundation Matches: MAC NC20, MUFE HD 120, MUFE Mat Velvet 25, Urban Decay Naked Skin 3.0, NARS Sheer Glow Deuville, Estee Lauder Double Wear Sand, Bare Minerals Golden Fair/Light, Bobbi Brown Beige, Tarte Light...
I suppose I could go on, but hopefully that will help someone get their match if they don't have samples. In this I am debating between Light 44 (beige undertone)--need a little bronzer and Light 48 (beige undertone) which could be a good summer color.
This is by far my favorite full coverage foundation. All the other ones I found have looked cakey and fake over time. This one takes the cake.
When I first applied it, like most people, I overdid it. A little goes a long way...and by a little I mean it makes me about a pea size to cover my face, less than half a pump if I want the best results. This is so highly pigmented and thick that it spreads and covers all my redness. I moisturize the heck out of my face, even extra moisturize and apply this and my skin looks flawless and pretty natural. Everything just airbrushes away. Sometimes when I wash my face at night I get shocked by what my skin actually looks like since it looked so flawless before removing the makeup.
**Note on the lighter shades. A few different consultants at a few Sephora's said that the company was reformulating the formula because one of the ingredients was no longer available. The lighter shade should be out by May hopefully. For now I just run to Sephora and get samples of my color since purchase is not available yet. The good thing about this is a sample can last me up to 2 weeks because a little goes such a long way!
Definite winner!

I really liked this product!! It must be pretty popular because I had to go to 3 Sephoras before they had 42 shade in stock lol. I am very fare skinned but not quite the porcelain Disney princess shade I want to be because I have a yellowish undertones with freckles. This color gives me the look I want!! It stays on really well lasting all day. The only cons I can say for it is that the 44 actually matches my skin better without being to pale but the 42 has the pinkish undertone I need!! They really need a 43 as a more in between color. This product is thick and doesn't really spread as easily as I'm used to, especially since I don't use much of it anyways(you hardly need more than a drop,) The sephora lady said I could mix it with a little face lotion to make it spread easier and since I don't have any acne scars or pockets it doesn't make a difference in coverage for me. I will say that when I first tried the 42 I thought it was wayyyy to light but then I realized the lady used wayyyyyyy to much of it using a brush to apply. When putting it on with my fingers using a lot less it looked flawless, matt, and bright. I recommend when trying this on to use other products you use in your routine. For instance I felt like a porcelain ghost until I put on some pink blush and red lipstick. Love love love this product!!!

Funny as it is because I didn't expect too much, this is an amazing foundation! I have tried a lot and usually am very picky but this made my skin look great. The staying power was wonderful as well. I have been using my primer and then this foundation lasts a good 10-12 hours easy.
I will definitely re buy and highly recommend this one!

I purchased this product on a whim in the color Light 42 because I'm paler than Casper's butt and have pinkish undertones, and I was shocked that a color would match so well. I ended up being really impressed with the quality of this foundation. It's very full coverage but can be lighter or heavier depending on how it is applied. A little goes a long way! I don't wear it every day but I do wear it on days when I'm having a breakout and to work in a nightclub at night. It makes my skin look naturally flawless and with a light dusting of translucent powder to set, it has incredible staying power and can last all night. I've been wearing it a few nights a week and occasionally in the day for several months and it hasn't caused me any kind of breakout or skin irritation, but it the consistency seems as though it may further aggravate people who already have dry skin. Another con for some people would be that most of the shades seem to be pink-based. This works for me but might make it difficult for others to find a good match. Also it's a little pricey, but for something that works so well I don't mind paying and will repurchase.

I am between an NC45-50 for reference! I also use Smashbox 15 hour long wear in shade 4.1 which has been my HG Foundation for the last 5 months! I ordered the Lock It foundation from Sephora in shades 64, 66 and 68 as I live in Australia and they don't sell it here!
I have yellow undertones and the 64 was way too light, 66 was dead on although it gives abit of a pinkish hue and 68 had too much red for my skin!
I have been wearing this foundation now for around 1 month everyday! I haven't even looked at my smashbox as this foundation is a dream! I work 10 and a half hour shifts and live in a hot and humid location! One pump of this foundation covers all! I have scars and uneven skin tone and I don't need concealer as this covers soooooo well! I get a little oily after about 8 hours but it adds a soft dewy look to my skin and I don't bother blotting!
I have oily skin and I prime first then apply with my beauty blender! I use Ben Nye Camel, Dolce, Clay or Olive Sand (whichever is closest at hand) mixed with banana powder to get rid of the pinkish hue and give more yellow to match my skin! I then finish off with setting spray!
This is now my go to foundation although I don't advise going for a second layer unless your going to a club or something! I was sick one day and looked and felt like hell so I double layered (two pumps) and headed off to work! My male colleague who I was chatting with was about two metres away from me and asked 'did you put your makeup on with a trowel today)! Lol!!
This foundation also photographs beautifully!
I have broken out around my chin area and it's been like that since I started using this foundation but I'm not sure whether the makeup is to blame or my diet and lifestyle at the moment as I do break out due to oily skin!
My profile picture is me wearing Deep 66 for any dark beauties to compare our shade!!!
