There's nothing I love more than venturing out and having a super splurge on makeup, that I wouldnt normally buy, or I know I shouldnt buy. While I have a lot of MAC makeup (definatly a guilty pleasure of mine), I have many similar products to the mineralized skin finish, so it was a splurge to me! I picked up MAC's famous Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder last year, for around $26.50. I use it frequently; it definitely wasn't a waste of money, but it didn't live up to my expectations. MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Powders are often used as setting powders for makeup, but can be used as a light foundation when applied wet (best to use MAC's Fix+ for this). I prefer using it as a setting powder, as I find it gives very little coverage when attempting to use it as a foundation; I like medium-heavy coverage, so if you're looking for something light and natural, you'd love this. The main reason I like this powder, is because it has lasted me absolutely ages! There's barely a dent made in the pan, and I've had it for at least 8 months. I love the packaging; it's simple and sturdy. It doesn't get too worn out and it's able to take a good beating amongst other makeup bag essentials. It's good to use as a setting powder, mainly because of the colour and glow it gives. It makes your skin look healthy and fresh, and keeps your foundation and concealer in place nicely. However, if you have oily-combination or dry-combination skin this doesn't work too well! I find that after an hour, my t-zone is incredibly oily again (especially around my nose) and the powder clings to the few dry spots on my face, and starts flaking off making me look all scaley (especially on and around my chin). I use a mattifying, translucent powder on my t-zone and apply this everywhere else on my face. I find this works alright applied over translucent powder, so it's ideal to pop into my handbag for touch-ups throughout the day. It's a fantastically light powder; suiting fair skin well - unlike a lot of powders out there claiming to be "porcelain", when in fact they make me look orange! It works best applied with a synthetic brush, also. Overall, it's a great powder, it just doesn't suit my skin type. Even after moisturizers for oily-combination skin and using a high end primer, it still doesnt seem to work out for me. It's 100% worth the money; probably one of the best MAC products I own, price-wise. If you're fair skinned and you have a normal skin time (not super oily or super try) and you happen to be looking for a nice powder for Summer, make sure to try this. I am very bummed it doesnt work well on my skin- however I am working on it! It is really hard to find products for my skin- because I dont have one spicifc 'type' of skin. I have a mild-oily T zone, a very dry chin and sometimes nose, normal cheeks. I try to even out the type and tone by using certain products on different parts of my face, but after a while it just becomes too much! So i will keep this in my arsenal of products and hang onto it until I can manage and get a hold of my skin type a little better. Usually when we are in transition of the different seasons, is when it seems to really act up. After a while and when the shift is over with, is when it seems to get a little better.
Overall, this product may not suit my skin right now, but I still love.and plan on using this product in the future. I would reccomend this product to any woman who is looking for a high end setting powder, with an excellent price to go with it. I love that this powder comes in different shades. One of my favorite setting powders (which just so happens to be E.L.F. brand, and pretty cheap) comes in translucent ONLY! I thought that all of them only came in translucent, which ended up being wrong. The translucent works well, but when your being photographed, there is a white cast that appears all over your face, when you are in pictures. Because Mac has shades to choose from, this is no longer a problem. Anyway. Its an excellent product, it suits many different shades and tones of women. I also love that MAC has a super flexible return policy- if you happen to dislike the product, or for some reason it just doesnt work for you, they will always take ot back and either exchange it for something else, or give you a full refund. This is very important to me, I will not shop anywhere where their return policy isnt 100% flexable, because of how hard it can be to get products that suit me and look good at the same time! I give this 5 lippies... it may not have worked out for me, but the product is exceptional... and I will reccomend it over and over!

Love love love!! I use this very lightly after my concealer and before my bronzer and it gives me such a gorgeous base and overall finish. So glad I bought this impulsively! Will definitely repurchase :)

I purchased to powder about 6 months ago and its still going strong. This shade was recommended for my color and I am regularly an NC20/C2. Its warmer than my actual skin tone but it doesn't go on or turn orange on me so its still wearable. I apply it with a synthetic kabuki brush so I get medium coverage. It sets concealer under the eyes and in spots very well. I have oily skin, and while this isn't for blotting skin, it doesn't crease up around the folds of the nose or forehead the way other brands do. I recommend this product.

Love this powder. As I have aged, I still want a full coverage look to my skin but find that liquid foundations settle into fine lines and after several hours are too blotchy. I was searching for a way to lighten up on the liquid foundation application but not lose the full coverage. After trying BE powder foundation and even giving Studiofix powder another try, I prefer the look of liquid foundation on my aging skin and decided to try a light layer of liquid with a top coat of mineralize skin finish and have really liked the outcome. Liquid foundations seem to smooth some of my lines/wrinkles but applying less of it made me sacrifice the coverage. So lately I use the liquid to smooth and even my skin and top it with this powder which provides enough additional coverage without the powdery-ness of other mineral foundations. It's tricky to age and still love makeup but thanks to products like this I can still fight the good fight and keep my best face forward!

I literally am in love with this product. It is my go to powder. I use it daily. The best thing about it is it covers the shine but no matter how much you put on you just won't look chalky. The colour match for me is perfect, I'm NC30 and wear MEDIUM PLUS. It lasts ages, I've been wearing it for about 3 years and I'm on my 4th compact. If you want a setting powder, with a bit of coverage, that will not look chalky, then this is your best friend. Amazing stuff. X

This powder is great for a non powdery look, leaves a very satiny finish, nothing chalky or dull about it.
For not being matte, it doesn't increase oil which is surprisingly nice. Also hasn't caused any breakouts.
My only complaint is the price, for that much I'd like a mirror, sponge or brush with it.
Will repurchase as the finish it leaves is almost ethereal.

I actually have this in medium, but I didn't think shade color was that big of a deal.
I've used this as a powder over my foundation the last few months, and thought it was decent, not really thinking it was as great as everyone raved about. However, the last few days, I've been extremely sick, and instead of using my regular foundation, I only used the MSF instead. And WOW I was so impressed.
This powder gives a great, light coverage, which is just enough to even out my skin tone. I'd recommend it to anyone. [:

This is by far the best foundation I have ever used! Its so light yet offers great coverage and still looks natural! I can barely feel it on my skin and is very easy to apply. Great buy and will definitely continue to use this product!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this MSFN. It gives me that extra amount of coverage needed for nights out and also helps set my foundation & concealer. This can also be used everyday if you want light med coverage w/o feeling weighted down by foundation. Plus OMG does this powder last forever. I've had mine since Dec 2010 and holy cow i haven't even reached half pan. This will last you for many many years.

THE BEST POWDER I HAVE EVER BOUGHT! I love the Mineralise Skinfinish and this is no exception! It is great for my dry skin and I actually sometimes use it on it's own as a light coverage foundation powder aswell as to set my full face foundation. Shows no flaky dry skin and makes my foundation last a long time! Will definitely buy again! 5 STARS!

this powder is a great product. i would recommend this to anyone who is a color match. works very well as a setting powder for foundation. when you want lighter coverage this is great over concealer or on its own. it has a slight sheen to the finish. it is quite matte but this subtle sheen gives a more natural finish. you will look less obviously made up. i will repurchase this powder. i prefer this to other powders as i find it well suited for various uses. i wish this compact had a mirror. only criticism i have.

This is probably one of the best powders I have used. The shade is just right for my skin tone. At the moment thought I am using medium without realising that I bought the wrong shade, it was a bit too bright for me and I look too pale with it. Anyway this product gives me a clear skin look, I still use a concealer though but I like how it is not too heavy or cloggy.

MAC has changed the name of this product; it used to be called Light Medium.
It took me about 2 years for me to finish the compact and when I went back to the MAC counter to get another one, the SA told me the name was changed.
It's still a great product that gives a lovely, natural finish. It gives me a nice, polished look and I can layer it for more coverage. (I prefer a light to medium finish)
It stays true to the original colour, even after a long day.
Another winner from MAC. My only gripe is that I wish they would include a mirror in the compact.
