Scents are a personal thing, I accept that. However I struggle to believe anyone loves this smell, it's bad. I've read other reviews that liken the scent to rotting flowers and I can't provide a better description than that. I also have a general problem with the quality versus price of Molton Brown products in general. I don't know how they can justify such price levels for such bog-standard average products. I got this set as a gift and have subtlety hinted to the giver not to waste their money in that shop again. I also had small red blemishes appear on my chest when using this lotion (to clarify as it was a gift and pricey I felt obliged to use it) which disappeared when I stopped.

I received a 100 ml bottle each of the Heavenly Gingerlily shower gel and body lotion as a GWP. While I think Molton Brown products are of fantastic quality, the scents, though incredibly exotic-sounding, are not at all to my liking. I've never actually bought a Molton Brown shower gel or body lotion, only sniffed them in store, and was quite happy to get sample sizes of each to try as I'd never forgive myself if I had paid 40 AUD for a shower gel! I almost threw up when I tried the Gingerlily body lotion on. I have NEVER smelled a more obnoxious floral before. It's vile, overwhelming and reminds me of flowers rotting in a waterlogged gutter. To call it disgusting would be to put it lightly. While I must admit that it moisturizes skin beautifully, leaves it with a subtle shimmer and feels baby soft to the touch afterwards, the smell is far too difficult to stomach. The shower gel is much better in regard to the scent as it's softer, subtle and not so in-your-face like the body lotion. It is still, however, unmistakeably flowery and I have never been partial to floral scents. It lathers beautifully through, and leaves skin feeling immensely soft and smooth with a pampered glow. Give Heavenly Gingerlily a go if you're a floral nut but if not, save your money because Molton Brown products are anything but cheap.

Heavenly Gingerly shower gel is one of my favorite shower gels from molton brown, its smells subtle and uplifting. Just Perfect. However, the body lotion doesnt, to me its too strong and for some reason reminds me of chalk! But other than that, the body lotion leaves me all soft and shimmery, as long as I can get past the smell that is.

While the quality of these molton brown products was as good as other products i have tried from them the scent was really not my type of thing at all. I found it overpowering and too strong and kind of old lady ish. The texture of the products is brilliant and the body lotion left my skin super soft but i just cannot abide this scent.

Heavenly Gingerlily has turned into one of my favourite Molton Brown scents. It is a delightful fragrance, very moisturising, and the accompanying body cream is very moisturising with a shimmer in it. Tanned skin (self tan or natural)looks great after using the body cream.

Heavenly indeed! I was expecting more of a heady white floral scent. Instead, it is a bit marine-like, with hints of gingerlily. The shower gel lathers and moisturizes beautifully. The body lotion leaves a VERY SUBTLE shimmer and is thick but soaks in well. Will definately repurchase and it has inspired me to seek out other products in this line.

Molton Brown's Gingerlily Bath and Shower gel is one of the most exhilirating, fresh, clean smells i've smelled in a shower gel in a long time. From the moment you pour some on your shower puff, its amazing the exotic flowery scent envelopes you and the whole bathroom. I didn't want to get out of the shower it was like paradise in there. I would definitely recommend the Gingerlily to anyone who loves exotic floral scents.
