This is a very "emolient" handcream. However, on me it stayed greasy and didn't have long staying power. The consistency is just a tad creamier than Vaseline Creamy Formula, but without the ultra-softening that Vaseline gives. As this Dormer product wore off, my hands felt just as dry as when I'd initially used the lotion. It didn't absorb well, it stayed greasy and got all over everything I touched; I couldn't put on my medical gloves, and it didn't prevent irritation from paperword--yet it left grease spots on the papers I touched. (I am frugal with application; it wasn't because I used gobs of it.)
The Dormer Creme (a Jar, different product) is very moisturizing, absorbs well, and doesn't leave me with a greasy mess. I will stick with the Creme in the jar when at work, and Topix Handcream when I need to use gloves. Linacare cream is the best--but no longer in my price range, unless my hands are really red/raw from handwashing & paperwork. I'm sure it's a great product for someone who doesn't need as much moisture as I do, and who doesn't need such a specific type of finish.
