Product has a great texture, is non-drying and has a much more mild odor (that fades quickly once on the face) than other BHA forms I've tried. It doesn't make my face irritated thought sometimes I get a little tingling when I'm first putting it on.
Of course, the smooth texture is probably attributable to the silicone which prevents tackiness and also gives a soft shine/increases radiance but can also cause breakouts in those who are sensitive to it.
In terms of effectiveness, I'd say it's rather average. I used the sample size to treat areas like my nose and chin and the skin near my temples and forehead where I'm prone to get smallish whiteheads in the summer. The whiteheads were definitely reduced but I only had slight improvement with stubborn blackheads (I'm not surprised about the blackheads since no BHA has helped much with those). It's nowhere near the strongest BHA product you can buy but I think its major selling point is its gentleness and texture which allow me to use the product almost every day without issues.
I started with a sample size but also purchased the full-size which I moved onto once the sample was used up. I still really like the unagel though I'm not overly thrilled with the pump. It's more sanitary but the full-size dispenses too much product for spot application so I have to be extra careful to spread it thinly all over or it will sit too heavy.

This new gel w/ 2% salicylic acid is unique in that it's at a neutral pH, 6.6. Most BHA's are quite acidic and potentially irritating. Peer-reviewed studies done in 2009 however have shown that it's isn't necessary to be acidic in order to be very effective.

I have this on order from dermstore.com and will update after test driving it. See ingredients listed above, if interested. UPDATE (6/25/12) Today is day one of test driving this.....so I can only comment on texture really at this point, though I think it helps to mattify the skin? Not sure.....Texture reminds me of Differin gel.....whitish gel that glides on nicely. One pump is almost too much, so I will try to dispense less. It does mattify once it dries, alot like Differin gel if my memory serves me correctly. No slimey yuckiness like other BHA's (which shall remain nameless at the moment). Pores look teeny tiny. So early days (hours really) but it may be effective enough to only use once/ daily in the AM. We shall see.....One more thing: the smell is a bit off-putting but luckily, it disappears quickly. UPDATE (07/04/12): I noticed bit of a SD rash last night that I noticed when I cleansed my face. And darn it, I've got 3 weddings ahead, almost one-a-weekend, so I'm going to take a break from my Unagel test drive for awhile. I hope others will test drive and post their thoughts.....esp. since the samples are free till then end of July. I'm not going to downgrade my review since the majority of people do not share my issues with SD.

I got a sample of this recently. I've been using it as a spot treatment, and I like it. I could see using it as a full face treatment (if my sample tube were bigger).
This product is a milky-clear gel. It goes on clear and it dries quickly. After a couple of minutes its not tacky or sticky at all. In light coats, I don't feel anything on my face - no film or tightness. Slather it on thick and I do notice it...It's not drying at all to me. Even applied several times a day, I didn't notice any irritation. I had no secondary breakouts or clogging.
OK in all honesty, for the price point, I may not re-purchase this. My beloved Stridex pads work well enough for me for an all over BHA.
I do think this might be a good BHA option for people with sensitive skin. If you can't use Stridex or Paula's Choice BHA, this may well be worth a look.
