There must be something very appealing about this cleanser (or very wrong with me) because I tried it about a year ago and it didn’t work for me. About 6 weeks ago, despite my previous failure *and* knowing there was an ingredient in here my face does not like, I bought it again. I don’t know why I do these things, but now I am writing a review so that in a year, when I may be tempted again, I remember why *not* to repurchase.
Don’t get me wrong, this is not, by any means, a bad product. It’s just that the one coconut-derived ingredient in here is one that I am (or should be) well aware breaks me out. If it weren’t for that, I would really like this stuff.
This cleanser smells heavenly – definitely lemon but neither too sweet nor too household-cleaner for my tastes. One pump will spread easily over a damp face and a few minutes gentle massaging removes all face makeup (I wear a cream concealer sometimes, but otherwise just mineral makeup in traditional powder form). I could only get this cleanser to partially remove my non-waterproof eye makeup, so it’s not great for that but I am wary of lemon (and many other plant oils and extracts) being around my eyes anyway so I imagine it wasn’t intended for eye m/u removal.
For me, this cleanser rinsed perfectly clean and even lathered ever-so-slightly when extra water was added to rinse so my face felt nice and clean, but not stripped. Over the course of about a month I started seeing some of the brightening effects the package claims, though it’s hard to tell how much as dullness is not really one of my many skin issues.
Alas, coconut = clogs = blemishes = not the right cleanser for me. After using this for a second time (for about a month) and stopping 2 weeks ago I am still babying my skin to help it recover.
IF, however, your face likes all the ingredients and you *do not* have sensitive skin (lots and lots of EO’s and such in here) I would completely recommend this cleanser.

I am on my fourth bottle, this is my absolute staple skincare! This cleanser is geared towards brightening your face. I went through about 3/4 of my first bottle before I saw noticeable results and with more use, my skin looked healthier and my complexion is brighter. I love this because it reduced my teenage left over acne scars from years ago and even faded newer ones within a couple days. It's amazing because the brand is natural as well.
I stumbled upon this in my local Whole Foods and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did because I now use their moisturizers and serum also. The cleanser doesn't lather, it is a creamy texture. It melts makeup pretty easily although not waterproof mascaras. I usually use just enough to wash off makeup in the first cleanse and then a full pump to wash my face on the second cleanse. For people who have tried every drugstore and high-street brands to find little results, I highly recommend you give this a try. I was in your shoes and I didn't think I'd ever find something that would work even for a little bit! Sometimes a shift back to basics versus chemical filled skincare is just what your skin needs.

Good natural cleanser for combination skin, does all that is claimed on packaging. Cleans very well. Also does a nice job brightening darkened complexion. Nice pump bottle is a bonus.

I really wanted to like this product but it was just a no go with my skin. It dried my skin and made it very sensitive. I find that my skin is not doing well with products that contain EO's or plant oils. This cleanser seems to have quite a bit of both. It does smell nice though, kind of like a honey lemon cough drop.

The first thing one should note about this cleanser is that it is for combination skin - after trying it out I can say I would definitely not recommend it for very dry or very oily skin, just truly combo folks like myself. Also, it contains a lot of extracts and essential oils so the sensitive may wish to avoid it as well.
My first impressions: I didn't notice the word "brightening" on the bottle prior to my first use but after just one wash I can certainly say they are not making erroneous claims! My face was noticeably less dull and downright glowing immediately. Also, I noticed right away the amazing scent of this cleanser. It's certainly lemon (and other citrus) but it's neither the sickeningly sweet "creamsicle" scent of some products nor the overpowering lemon Pledge scent of others. I don't know how to describe it better but let's suffice it to say I've wanted to eat this on more than one occasion! Now, after using this for about 2 or 3 months now, here are my findings:
PROS:
*Removes all makeup, including eye makeup. Though it is worth noting that if it gets in your eyes, you will be very, very sorry - think about squirting lemon juice directly into your eye and you'll have the right idea. Also, I do not wear any waterproof makeup, so I cannot speak to how well it would remove anything waterproof.
*Does not dry out my skin, nor leave it oily.
*Leaves face lightly moisturized, but not with a residue. I've never had residue or makeup come off on the cotton with my toner after using this cleanser. Great for my lazier nights when I wash my face but skip the tone and moisturize steps out of laziness.
*During drier months helped to clear up blemishes and clogs. Now that it's getting into summer this cleanser seems a bit too heavy and is no longer helping BUT is also not causing any problems.
*Great ingredients as far as "green" goes and the company overall seems, so far, like one I am comfortable supporting.
*Fairly affordable, especially if you look for discounted items online.
CONS/WARNINGS:
*Personally, I love the extracts and EO's in this product BUT if you're sensitive, they are likely way too much for you.
*Just not deep cleansing enough for me in the hotter or more humid times.
*Love the sanitary pump bottle, but it's not great for travel and it's PLASTIC.
BOTTOM LINE: I really think this is a great cleanser. I will be trying something else for the summer (currently considering the Citrus Kombucha cleanser by the same brand), since I need something a bit more deep cleansing, but I have little doubt that I will come back to this for winter or even just keep some on hand for when my face feels dry. I would recommend for those that, like me, have that very volatile combination skin that dries out very easily but also gets oily and broken out very easily. I will be buying this again!
