My overall experience with Armani Silk Lipstick is they are nothing to rave about. #67, which is a pale pink shimmer is beautiful. I also have a red. However, the lipsticks are not worth the money. The whole line is very confusing, with all it's numbers and all it's different finishes (matte, sheer) The salesgirls are always giving me the wrong item due to this problem.
Stick to the lipglosses in the wand. They are incredible and have beautiful undertones to them. Very sexy, very different.

I how do I love thee!!! One hundred million times I love this lipstick. I am reviewing #2 matte silk. This color is a versatile a medium brown pink (I'm PPP w/ brownish auburn hair). When I wear this with a brick red shirt, the color shows more neutral reddish, and when I wear this with a white shirt, the color shows more neutral pink/brown. I almost want to say there are shades of mauve in this lipstick also. This is not your average dry matte lipstick! It is moisturizing and only one or two coats is needed to have a lovely smooth and creamy lip. I admire the staying power as well, I ate a cereal bar and drank tea, and still had shades of this lipstick on my lips. I don't know why Armani is choosing to d/c these matte lipsticks, but if you register on Armani's website, you can order these w/ only $5 shipping and handling, b/c you won't find these anymore at Armani MU counters. I already have #13 on order.

Very amazing matte lipsticks! i usually steer clear of matte lipsticks cos my lips tend to require heavy moisturising lippies. but this actually wasnt drying for my lips & i didnt need to wear a lipbalm under the lipstick like i usually do and it didnt cause my lips to crack or flake unlike some other brands of lipsticks even with my lipbalm on! lipstick is also a dream to apply & coloour comes out evenly. love the matte black casing, much better than the mania casing. would repurchase unfortunately, have read that they are discontiuning the matte range!

Bought #2 & #13.

This lipstick is A M A Z I N G !!!! Upon application it feels like silk....and it's staying power is unbelievable!!!! I've had #2 on for 8 hours so far and haven't had to reapply at all! And I've had breakfast, snack, lunch, snack....and it's still wearing perfectly without any gooping.
My absolute most favourite lipstick and now I need MORE!

I think there is a reason these Matte Silk lipsticks are being discontinued- they don't seem to have much staying power. Like others have noted, the product does leave a pretty stain, but that doesn't justify the price to me. These lipsticks do have a unique and lovely texture, but they fade quickly.

This is my first GA purchase and I'm really impressed! I was a bit afraid that the matte formulation would dry out my lips but OMG its texture is amazing. It goes on really creamy and smooth. The lasting power is amazing and, if you want to add a touch of shimmer to liven up the lipstick, you may use a gloss on top or a dab of NARS' Copacabana multiple (and this won't affect lasting power!). Will repurchase if I ever finish my new l/s (I got myself #15, which cannot be used every day, so it'll probably last forever). What I’ll definitely do is explore GA's makeup line!!!

I'm a Matte lipstick fiend and am constantly on the search for the perfect red - I'm Indian so our skin tones are often hard to match up with vis a vis our Caucasian sisters. After reading the reviews on MUA, this is it, I was on MAC's Russian Red, and NARS Shanghai for years - too drying but this one, no joke- rolls on like a stick of butter, it's that smooth and soft. I wear Number 11 and 17, highly, highly recommended, it's just a shame it's soo bloody expensive, if Mr. Armani decided to bring down the price a bit more, he'd be making a killing and this stuff would fly off the shelves.
Drop whatever matte lipsticks you're using now and run to the Armani counter, you won't regret it.

I was nervous about purchasing this lipstick formula since I HATE mattes, but I was pleasantly surprised by this formula. Not lip-cracking dry or aging in any respect, just gives more intense color than the sheers, my usual choice. Great for a polished look. These don't creep, no frag or smell. Beautiful colors. If you normally hate mattes, give these a try; they are not the run-of-the-mill mattes.

I am reviewing Matte Silk in #8. This is a cognac with russet orange influence. At first I wasn't sure what to wear it with, but I wore a black/grey top the other day and it was perfect. Great texture that goes on smooth. Not drying at all! This is definitely a color for warmer skintones. Might actually be too bright for lighter complexions.

I love the texture of this lipstick. It's matte yet so soft and smooth on the lips. I usually were matte colors from MAC but I think I'll be sticking to these from now on. They're very expensive. I think around $48AUD but they're worth it.

Matte silk #10 is a gorgeous cool berry red. I use it as a stain during the daytime(i.e. applied with a finger) and add drama with a lip brush @ night. Complements dark hair/eyes(NC20 Asian). The weightless texture, pigment payoff, and wear are incomparable. Definitely check it out. (A comment on a matte #10 is also under its own review.)

Absolutely my favorite lipstick. The texture is creamy and glides on perfectly. The staying power is quite good, but it's not excatly a long lasting formula. I have this in #2 which is very much YLBB for me.

I "found" Armani products when they first came out and purchased their foundation which is fabulous but hence no SPF.

I recently came to the Make Up Alley again to "find a new lipstick"...and came upon Armani again..so yesterday I was passing Saks Fifth Avenue (NYC location) and ran right in. I purchased Matte Silk #2 and the coordinating lipliner!

Not only was the original salesperson there from years ago but I received a pencil sharpener and some perfume samples without asking.

The lipstick itself didn't stay on all day but I noticed a tinge of color and absolutely NO dryness on my lips at all...it was great! It was like a tint after a few hours which was nice.

Was very impressed with this lipstick. I use this for work and the colour stays on for hours - I love matte silk #9, a earth toned red - classy and striking enough to make a statement. Beautiful!

This is an interesting hybrid of a true matte and a silky cream lipstick. You get the shine-free finish of a typical matte, but the creamy application of a more moist lipstick. The result is really beautiful; a gorgeous look of a lipstick that seems to meld with the lips. No cracks, cakes, or lines; just a smooth, rich matte texture that is a joy to wear. Although I only own one color, from browsing through I could see there was a nice range of both bold and subtle choices. And the packaging is quite lovely as well, very sleek!

This is it. The best matte lipstick. Don't waste your time complaining about the price. it goes on smooth, stays on, looks smooth but not cakey or flat. Highly pigmented, but doesn't stain. I am a devotee of #9, a brownish-pink-red, which looked too strong in the tester, but is just WOW on. Run, do not walk, GET THIS LIPSTICK. you won't regret it.
