Wow, what a gorgeous eye pencil! I took a chance on this color because it sounded like it might be nice--so glad I did. This is a Spring/Summer 2012 addition to the T. LeClerc line and I really hope it becomes permanent. The name translates as "gold leaf" and according to what I read online about the pencil, it's supposed to have a brightening effect. And guess what, turns out it really does!
I use this on the water line, dotted along the lower lash line, and on the inner corner of my eye to just give me a little lift. I also use it in combination with my Laura Mercier Brown Copper Kohl Liner to soften it a bit. Honestly, I can't say enough about this pencil. It goes on like velvet and it wears all day. It even stays quite well on the water line--pretty amazing. I don't know how to describe the color because it's not a harsh gold at all, it's more like a silvery-gold if you can imagine such a thing. I guess it's just what the name says--gold leaf. Just beautiful.
This pencil is really great for those of us who are getting older and find that darker pencils are starting to look harsh. Problem solved with this pencil. Also, I imagine this would be amazing with a bit of a suntan. Wish I could still do that, but, alas, my tanning days are over.
The one drawback to T. LeClerc is that the line is not easy to find. There used to be a store in my area that carried it but no longer does. The only other reliable place I've found is Barney's who thankfully ships for free. Thing is, this product is so excellent it's worth going a little out of my way to get it. Also worth the price. Will buy again and again and again.
