I apply it on my lips and use a baby tooth brush to really get in there and exfoliate. Once I'm done I put lip balm on top and it leaves my lips so incredibly smooth and soft. I keep repurchasing every time I run out. It also tastes and smells really good.

I don't understand the hype about this product. The first few times I used it I thought it was okay. It left my lips feeling smooth and soft. After about a week and a half of continuous use, the moisturizing layer wore off and left only the coarse sugary scrub. Maybe I got a faulty product, but I'd rather make my own scrub for even less money.

This is actually a great product! My lips are a dry, flaky mess during the winter months even though I constantly wear lip balm or lipstick. I do have a little homemade pot of sugar and oil for lip exfoliation that I keep at home, however, I wouldn't want to be toting that pot around in my purse. If the lid were to come off, oh what a mess that would make of the inside of one's purse. Anyhow, this tube exfoliator is great for your purse, travel, whatever. It has granules of sugar and when you push lightly in a circular motion it does an excellent job of removing dead skin from your lips. You'll need to wipe off the granules of sugar once you have completed exfoliating and then apply lip balm for moisturization. I've read that the tube breaks easily, so with understanding that fact I simply just do not twist the tube up very far. Great product. I do not understand the negative reviews. I suppose not everything works for all.

Someday I'd like to find a magical perfect lip scrub that goes above and beyond the call of duty, and while this product isn't it, it is still pretty amazing. I've tried quite a few lip scrubs, and this formula matches up to other ones I've tried at a price that is frequently cheaper and in packaging that is incredibly convenient.

The product has a vanilla scent, so probably not for the fragrance sensitive, but I find it pleasant despite being wary of many vanilla scents. The tube packaging is solid, it feels almost MAC like, and because of the traditional lipstick shape and application the formula is a little bit like sugar grains in a chapstick, except that the base seems more oil based and so it sinks into the lips more than a traditional chapstick would. The first two applications or so are different than the later applications (because the top layer is more base than scrub in order to give the product the traditional lipstick shape). Also since you are applying the scrub directly to your lips sometimes your dead lip skin gets on the product and it looks a lot less hygienic despite theoretically being more hygienic.

One day, when I find that perfect lip scrub, it will probably come in a tub and I will still carry one of these around in my purse as a backup.

i honestly just bought this because everyone was just raving about how this was such a great product, but honestly it's nothing special. okay price, but did NOT work at all. the vanilla smell was good at first, but over time it can get a little too much. if anything, this just left little grains of sugar and... stuff on my lips, and a strange sticky/ waxy feeling. not sure if the problem is how i'm applying it or if my lips just have too much dead skin on them (ew LOL) but this product didn't do anything for my lips. still searching for the right lip exfoliater :/

I love this stuff. Matte lipsticks are my favorite, but my lips will get dry and crusty sometimes. This stuff is easy is to use and portable. It really does a good job of getting the dead skin off. Just top with a lip balm and you're good to go. And at $3 the price is good.

I love how this product sloughs off dead dry skin in my lips (also works to remove lipstick that is built up where my lips touch). The nourishing feeling is great. I didn't like how it started to crumble after a couple weeks, when using on my lips chunks would break off and I would have to wipe them away. All in all I would buy again

I picked up the ELF lip exfoliator after having several friends recommend it, as well as the rave reviews on here. When I first bought it and gave it a go....I thought it was like a lip balm. I didn't notice any exfoliation. But after a few more uses, the initial "balm" broke down, and the exfoliating began! It's a grainy scrub. It feels great, smells great, and makes my grouper sized lips look lush, and feel so smooth. Make sure you follow the directions, as far as wiping it off and applying balm after. This is one of my favorite staples in my routine. It's a great, cheap product!

I bought the ELF Studio Lip Exfoliator hoping it would replace the delicious but messy Lush Lip Scrub in my daily routine.

PROS:
I like the concept of a lip stick. I think if executed properly this would be very clean and travel friendly.

CONS:
The Exfoliator appears to essentially be brown sugar granules surrounded by thick lip butter. The sugar is VERY hard and grating on my lips. The lip butter to exfoliator ratio is very far off and after one use the top of the stick was just the hard sugar. I hate this product, I basically got two uses. One use when I first bought the product and a second use when it broke out of the tube and I broke it in half to see what was in the middle. Spoiler its all hard sugar.

I hate this product, it hurts my lips. It is EXPENSIVE, considering how many uses I have. The exfoliating properties are too hard, literally sandpaper. Put some brown sugar in a lip butter pot, it would be much better.
