I got a deluxe sample of this bronzer. I first tried it as a liquid bronzer for my face, but it didn't go so well. You have to apply this stuff pretty quickly or it sort of gets sucked in by your skin and leaves what I would call a "stain". I would have to say this body bronzer is the equivalent of a lip stain. If you can think of this stuff like that then I think you can begin to work with it and appreciate it for the wonderfulness it is.
After my experiment with this product as a face bronzer failed this product just sat unused for months. Then I started my summer application of self(sunless) tanners and gave this bronzer another try on my legs. I figured my sunless tanner application was a safe guard in case this stuff looked bad. To my surprise and astonishment it was wonderful. I did have a spot that sucked up too much bronzer and I looked like I had a bruise. My recommendation would be to only apply this stuff at one spot at a time and quickly rub it in. I had put a glob on my upper leg and a glob on my lower leg. The one of my upper leg sat and that is where the spot was. That problem is easily fixed by just putting product in one spot at a time. Takes a few extra seconds, but the end result is worth it.
I don't think this makes my self tanner look significantly darker, but it does as a little extra deepness and I like it enough that I am going to buy a full sized bottle when I am done with the sample bottle.
Wear gloves when you apply this as it stains and will stain the heck out of your hands!!!!
I recommend you try it if you already have a tan (real or fake) established. I do think with the staining properties this is not a good product for people who are pale or have no established tan. Best of luck! :)

As someone who is fair skinned, I think this product tends to be a better choice than the usual ones from St Tropez. It is more of a golden hued highlighter than anything, and, if used correctly, is quite good at giving a more toned, lengthened look to your muscles. It won't give you a tan though, and I don't think it would look very natural if it was applied all over your body. Often what I do is use a small amount of regular self-tanner (which I mix with almond oil or moisturizer for an easier application and more natural look), let that dry, and then use this close to when I am about to leave the house. I see this as a "going out" product -- I would find it too shimmery for daytime use.

I use sun beds occasionally, as well as take holidays on the beach so I am pretty dark already...I just wanted something to even out my skintone, something similar to the sally hansen airbrush legs spray. This i found impossible to blend in it was terrible. I just used it on my legs and however much i blended i had streaks all day. It looked like a fake tan that had gone wrong. The front of my legs blended a bit better and then yes, u do have a nice glow, but it took ages of blending...definitely too much hassle! Will be throwing this out

I tried this on my arm while I was looking around in Sephora. This doesn't leave any type of bronzing effect/give any color, this is more of a shimmery lotion that helps to accent certain areas of the body. This works well to highlight areas like shoulders, chest, arms, & legs. This basically just gives a little extra something to your skin & adds a healthy glow. I did like this for what it is, but I don't think I would actually buy this for the high price tag. I just don't think a basic shimmery lotion is worth that much money. I can find shimmery lotions that do the same thing at a fraction of the cost. Overall, this still adds a nice touch.

LOVE THIS STUFF! I'm an extremely fair redhead who can tan, but chooses not too. Still, there are days when a bit of bronze is desired. This fits the bill perfectly. St. Tropez bronzers and tanners are the best on the market because they add a slight bit of green to make a beautiful golden brown when it mixes with the natural peachy tones on the skin. When I have a day when I like a bit more of a glow, I just apply this to the areas of the skin that will be on display. Sometimes it's a day at the beach, sometimes it's the arms and a bit of the chest. It never looks streaky or fake. Always smooth and natural. It dries very quickly and has great staying power. Never rubs off on my clothes. I haven't gone for a long swim with it on, but a quick dip is fine. It fades slightly, but it doesn't come off in patches. Because of the fast drying time it can also be layered to achieve a darker tan. At the end of the day, I just wash off with my Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap and my Salux Cloth and I'm back to my normal white skin. Couldn't be happier with my purchase and will definitely be buying again.
