Best whitening mask on the market, and a great value. I heard you can get it in Japan for $2 a pack for 6 pcs...I buy it for around $13.50 for 5 pcs here in LA though...I love this mask for whitening.

Not sure it does anything to the skin. I have oily/acne prone skin, it doesn't seem to irritate the acne. I don't think the whitening effect is significant. Use it as a moisturizing mask, definitely not a whitening mask.

I bought it from our local Japanese grocery store at Houston, Texas. 5 per pack costs around 19 dollars which is about the same price as www.sunpowerusa.com
I bought it because I really like SKII whitening masks (6 per pack for 85 dollars at Saks) but don't want throw too much money on keeping use it so often. So I bought this Japanese whitening mask. First of all, it is not as good as SKII for sure since this one is thinner and has less essence solution in. But it still gives me fairer complexion afterwards. So I guess it is well worth the money. I will use it in between my SKII masks to cut down my budget on masks.

I went beserk in a Shinjuku cosmetics shop and bought 5 boxes of these amazing masks. I have a few 'sun kisses' I'm trying to fade & it really does seem to be doing the job - added bonus is the overall smoothing, toning effect. These masks were just one of many cosmetic/skincare discoveries I made in Japan - its an MUAjunkies paradise - charcoal cleansers (amazing), volcanic mud scrubs, SPF50 sunscreens ... sigh ... think I'll go whack on a mask, lie on the bed and reminisce :)

This mask comes under Kanebo's Freshel White C range. What it does is make my skin feel smooth and cool to the touch. But my skin is already pretty smooth to begin with, so I'm not sure how much of it can be attributed to the effects of the mask. It's supposed to be a whitening mask but what it does, however, is make skin look clearer, not necessarily fairer. I don't like the idea of placing a wet sheet over my face (which is basically what this mask is). The sheet doesn't really cover every part of my face either, like the sides of my nose, for example. I was impressed by how many glowing reviews this product got, so when I bought it I expected something fabulous but it's not quite that. It's not bad though. I would buy it again whenever I feel like I need a quick pick-me-up since it isn't pricey either.

I've bought this at a john little sale for S$10.90 (5 pc pack) in Singapore. I tried it yesterday and it was fabulous. Even up till now, my skin is still fairer than before i used it. (i've medium dark skin) Besides, the mask was really easy to use and won't cause a mess when i try to unfold it. My skin seemed clearer and fairer, hydration level was ok though. I will continue to buy it as its price is quite attractive and it satisfy my conditions for a mask. Recommended.

The reason I bought this
I've been using Neutrogena Fine Fairness mask for a few months and have been pretty happy with the results. But I was searching for a cheaper alternative. Some of my friends who have been using this Kanebo mask like it a lot. So I decided to try a box. It comes in 5 packets of individually wrapped masks. So this eliminates contamination.
Pros:
1. Similar hydrating effect as the Neutrogena mask.
2. Brightens the skin
3. Evens out my skintone
4. No breakout or irritation; considering I have acne-prone, ultra sensitive skin
5. It's gel texture did not leave any oily residue
6. This sheet mask concept is easy and convenient to use. I don't need to wash my face after I removed the mask. Just massage the remaining gel into the skin and walla, I'm all set to apply my regular skincare

Cons:
1. The paper sheet that's used to make this mask is rather stiff. There were corners on the sides that could not sit well on my face. I expected the sheets to be softer and easier to manipulate.
2. Like the other reviewer said, this took a long while to set and dry. I had it on for more than 30 minutes but some of the gel was not sinking in. So there was some wastage.
3. Gooey, sticky gel that was all over the mask when I removed it from the packaging.

Recommendation:
Though it's not the perfect mask in terms of packaging, I'd still recommend this to anyone who's seriously shopping for a good hydrating mask with moderate brightening result. It's not expensive and a box of 5 masks can last for a month since you only need to use 1-2 masks a week. But I'd recommend anyone who's using this to pre-chill it in the refrigerator prior to using.

I really love the Kanebo Collagen version in the red/orange box and but was disappointed by this. Compared to the collagen mask, this one is much more astringent and less hydrating. My skin didn't have that soft moisturised feeling after using this mask, but felt rather dry. The whitening effect of this mask is alright. It does brighten a little but I've tried more effective whitening masks. Kose Sekkisei, RMK and SKII whitening masks are much better IMO.

I also brought it in HK for around US$5. It really helps. I first heard from my friend for its powerful effects and now I'm sure my friend didn't lie. And it's much better than than Neutrogena's white mask too, and most importanltly, much cheaper. I think I'll continuously buy it.

Not bad! I bought these for HKD$40 a box (US$5) and didn't expect much. I thought these were much better than the Neutrogena vitamin C masks. I have used a whole box in about a month. I think the results are temporary if you do not complement them with a good skincare regimen. Immediately after using them, I saw my skin was clearer, brighter and well moisturized. I did not see this w/ Neutrogena. I was able to extract any blackheads quite easily. I followed with serum and moisturizer and my skin felt extra soft even during the morning after. Highly recommend this product for its effects and economical price!

Oh yuck. This is the only Kanebo mask I don't love, and in fact, I kind of hate it. The gel covering it is much thicker and much more gooey than the liquid on the other masks, and this one just sits on your skin. Takes forever (at least 30 minutes) to dry and my skin feels like it's suffocating the entire time. When I take it off, my skin looks reddish, irritated, and less radiant than before, if you can believe it! I've tried it twice and both times I've been very angry at the mask.

Do NOT waste your money on this. The other masks are much better, particularly the Freshel White C, which has become a staple for me.

This sheet mask from Kanebo is a good bargain. It brighten up and hydrate my skin in 20 minutes. However, it did break me out when I used them for 5 consecutive days and did not rinse off. Now I oly use the mask once or twice a week, and have it rinse off every time. I have normal/ combo skin.

I bought this mask after i read other members' review.
I used to spent $50 for Shiseido's whitening mask but the result is not as good as Kanebo's clear white mask. This is the best mask i had ever have. Today is my first time use it and it makes my skin whiter and softer. Thanks ladies.

oooo, how i love this mask! i don't know what it does exactly since most of the package is in japanese. but from asking a few on the skincare board, i think i'm using it correctly.

this mask comes 5 in a pack and is great for traveling. The mask is a paper masked soaked in some sort of liquid. You take the mask and pat in around the face and then unfold the mask and smooth it out so that it sits nicely on your face. i like to be laying down while it dries, otherwise it might fall off. It takes a while to dry since the mask is so damp, but i'm sure you can get results in 20 minutes.

The afterwards, i don't rinse. I just apply my moisturizer. The result leaves my skin amazingly smooth. i swear i have never seen my skin smoother than this. it feels like baby's skin afterwards. oh, and the overall tone of my skin is nice and glowy. but i'm thoroughly impressed with the smoothness.

cannot get enough of this stuff!!

Wow! I am so impressed by these masks by Kanebo. I thought that the Collagen was so awesome... and it still is, but this is just as good, in its own way! it's a little bit more expensive than the Collagen Mask, but not by much! I find that this mask is a bit more astringent... I have a feeling that is a result from the various fruit and plant enzymes that are in the mask. The effect is a brightening of the face, and a refreching feeling! Not the same firming effect as the Collagen one, but as I said, this has a different purpose. Rave!!! Great thanks to Fenn for her recommendation!
