I don't relish writing neg reviews, but when it's warranted...
I would make all of the same comments others have: ineffective, too heavily scented, average sized can yet contents seem to disappear quickly.
I too bought it b/c it was on sale and Batiste was unavail at the time. This is one of those instances when a sale item is not a good deal. Sorry Dove, back to the drawing board with this one.

I actually like this when I first bought it, but now I notice that it makes my scalp itchy and oily. I put this in one morning and my friend asked me why my hair was all white!! I was so confused until I realized it was because of this dry shampoo... the one from Suave is much better. Throwing this out.

Love this stuff. Smell is a touch strong but I like that, adds to the freshness feeling I'm looking for what with using a dry shampoo. Good volume boost and not chalky on my dark hair if I hold it far enough. Short bursts to the roots and a finger scrubbing in after a minute letting it "absorb" that grease and a brush through and I'm ready to go. Recommend. Only tiny thing, the can is a bit eh...burly in circumference. A more slender can might be a better mitt fit.

I've tried a few dry shampoos but this is a good one. After spraying, I brush through it and even use my hand to rub it in. It really is refreshed and not oily anymore. I've seen it in the drugstore for as much as $7.99 but got mine at Walmart for $2.99 (I think it was an anniversary special). The big drawback is the strong fragrance - your whole bathroom smells of it, but it goes away on your hair. I hope they come out one with a fragrance free version.

This was my first experience with a dry shampoo, and I don't love it. It didn't give me the white clumps like some mentioned, but it did cause my hair to be more oily than before and to clump together. Very gross. Worst of all was the smell. I love the Dove signature scent, but this was TOO overpowering! I want to gag because it's so strong. Definitely won't be getting this again.

I honestly wasn't expecting this stuff to be as good as it really is. Every dry shampoo I have tried EXCEPT the batiste dry shampoo has been a nightmare but I can honestly say this Dove dry shampoo is a great option if the batiste one is too expensive or hard to get a hold of. Here's why:
-the smell which is quite strong not gonna lie, is actually a nice smell. not a yucky hairspray smell or anything.
-doesn't make my hair sticky or straw-like, gives it some texture but i can still brush through my hair just fine.
-absorbs about 75% of the oil in my hair which isnt too bad. The other dry shampoos I have tried either soak up none of it or create more oil. This dove one soaks up most of the oil and makes my hair look fresher and cleaner.
-won't turn your hair powder white or grey as long as you don't hold it too close to your hair. keep it about 10-12 inches away just to be safe. after all it is a powder spray.
-the price was fantastic. got mine for around 3-4 dollars at Target.
-you can find it anywhere. target, walgreens, walmart, cvs, ect.
-gave my hair quite a bit of volume. after a day or two of not washing my hair it can get flat and droopy but this stuff pumped up the volume in my hair. lifted my roots a bit.
How i use it :
I give my hair a good brush through before i use it so it doesn't get tangled. I give my hair about 4-5 good sprays (I have very thick hair). Mostly spraying it in my roots and at the top of my head and I then flip my hair over and spray the back of my hair as well, I find this helps with volume. After every spray I kind of massage my scalp to get the product deep in my hair to get rid of those oils, scrunch up my hair a bit. When I'm done applying I give my hair another brush through just to make sure it's well distributed and it can also help with getting rid of the powdery-ness or any whiteness that you have in your hair from the spray. Then I style like normal. Love this product xoxox will for sure buy again.

I wasn't sure about this, but it was on sale and I had coupons, so I figured I try it. It works great for me. i color my hair, so I don't want to wash it everyday. I also have oily roots, but the rest is dry from processing. My hair is fine with no volume. I set my hair on velcro rollers to get some volume, but instead of grabbing hairspray to spray the roots after, I grabbed leave in conditioner spray, so I really oiled up the roots. i grabbed my Dove dry shampoo, and it absorbed the oil, gave me volume, and my hair looked great. It was wonderful for fixing my error, and I didn't have to shampoo for another few days. It did smell a bit strong at first, but it faded fairly fast. I bought a second can, was glad there was no white powder on my hiar. This is a nice product for a nice price.

I like it overall. The smell is strong but let's be honest no ones hair smells great when they haven't washed it for a few days hence the dry shampoo :-F Loved the volume it gave and that it DIDN'T leave a white cast on my roots like most do. It actually absorbed the oil too which is always nice haha Overall I dig it!

Broke my neck (i have a short bob cut) and hairline out in the worst way!
I've used the sauve dry shampoo without problems, but bought this one after Tiffanyd raved about it and I came upon it on sale.
I also feel that permanently strips the natural oils from my hair. After washing and drying my hair still feels stiff and straw like from this.
No thanks, going back to sauve.

This is a product that I wouldn't mind using again - it works fairly well, the smell is nice, however it is too heavily fragrant and the scent lasts for more than over 24 hours.
It does integrate into the hair quite nicely and absorbs the excess oils once you brush it or use your fingers to work it through your hair. It adds a bit of volume and leaves very little residue that is not as noticeable :)
I find that this product works much nicer than Tresemme's Fresh Start dry shampoos!
