HORRIBLE!!!! I had such high hopes for a dry shampoo cause I seriously have to wash my hair everyday. This was really cheap at Walmart and I love the white can it's very pretty with the pink writing. I'm a sucker for packaging. Anyway had it a day and I go to use it and there's no product in it. Decided to try it again maybe I got a bad can but nope same thing. I decided not to try again. My friend awhile later bought to try and after a couple days bam no product left. It seems odd that it dries up like that. The one time I did try it on my hair it felt powdery but not to oily. I think I'd get the same results just throwing some baby powder on my roots.

I saw this was on sale and decided to buy it and try it out and boy, I didn't expect it to work so well. I have thick black hair so dry shampoos are definitely not for me. Tresemme left nastiness all over my hair and kept it looking greasier than ever but dove actually did a very good job. It was really easy to spray on and brush out. The scent is alright but I'd like it more if it was a little lighter. Your hair does feel a little ... off afterwards so you have to get used to that feeling but once you do, you won't regret buying this. It lasts all day which is a good thing and it doesn't make your hair look greasy when the day is over. I don't recommend spraying it right on your roots, especially if you have a dry scalp. You'll end up brushing some dandruff out which will look really unsightly. All in all, I recommend this product over Tresemme but there are better ones out there.

Dry shampoo is definitely specific to different hair types and in this case i would say DO NOT try this if your hair is not naturally oily...and I'm talking like seriously oily hair Yes i understand that you use dry shampoo to get rid of oil so mostly everyone using it has oily hair at the moment they are using it but I'm talking like oily hair on a good day. That is how my hair is and so dry shampoo is a must (or else id have to wash it everyday because by the end one day one its already getting grease ball gross)...all that being said the packaging of the product is pretty much average and it has a STRONG smell! Not a bad smell basically its similar to the dove deodorants and sprays...dont love it, don't hate it...just mehh (and it doesn't linger for a little while) This product leaves a little bit of a filmy texture in your hair but to be honest it doesn't really bother me. Overall i might buy this again but the quest for the perfect dry shamp continues....

I think when it comes to dry shampoos, it all depends on your hair type. Quality is a big factor, but if you've got overly dry hair, dry shampoo could really bug the crap out of you.
Having said that, I have color treated hair that has dry ends and an oily scalp. I've tried all sorts of dry shampoos there are out there! Yes, there are some that make it impossible to even brush your hair to get it out (I'm looking at you TRESemme). And so far...Dove is the only can I've bought more than once. I go back to it a lot. Not just because the price is amazing, because Sauve has one and its cheaper, but because it works for MY hair type. It doesn't leave my hair feeling like straw, I think, because I already have enough of natures moisturizer in my hair, it just soaks up what oil I have, balances my oily scalp and adds a nice touch of volume.
So for ME...Dove works. Thanks!

Works great for my as my hair is fine and grease comes through fast. Its the most inexpensive dry shampoo I believe in Canada haven't even able to find suave dry shampoo here. A definite repurchase for me!

I just tried this out today & I...LOVE...IT!!! I've never used a dry shampoo product before but now that I shampoo my hair less frequently, I'm finding lately that I needed "something" to: A) take care of the oily feel on my scalp; B). take care of the funky odor that results from not shampooing everyday. This product does both, splendidly.
I used it VERY sparingly--I would part sections of my hair and sprayed it only on the scalp part. I then massaged the area with my fingers (the Dove product said "massage with palm." Huh??!?) It didn't affect the surrounding hair so I didn't get the dry straw effect that others had experienced. After that, I left it alone, combed my hair somewhat, but not allover.
I have long, dark hair past my shoulders and always wear it in a bun or ponytail. This works perfectly for me. Thank you, Dove :)

I've read a lot of reviews from others stating that this product only produced 1-2 uses before it was gone. Firstly I want to state that it depends where you are storing this product because oftentimes that alone can cause the aerosol to dissipate (as it can with ANY aerosol). I have gotten well over 5 uses out of this product with no problems with the product not spraying.
Now for my review:
I bought this product from shoppers because I liked the price and the smell of it. I've never had a problem with dove products so I decided to give it a shot. This is not my first dry shampoo. I've used batiste for the longest time and only changed to the dove because I couldn't afford the batiste at the given moment. I immediately (like I'm sure most people do) went home and tried it out. I was thoroughly disappointed. The product smells great, sprays out the can well and it doesn't leave white spots in your hair (given that you hold the bottle at the proper distance) but what I was left with was stringy, elasticy dead feeling hair.
Like any dry shampoo you have to brush/comb your hair after applying the dry shampoo so as to remove any excess. I did so and I was terrified that my hair was going to start falling out of my head. It made my hair dry feeling and really knotted to the extent where I almost COULDN'T brush it. I have short shoulder length brown hair, that never really gets knotted but this product made my hair unmanageable. It took the greasy bits out of my hair but left me with incredibly dry hair that almost felt like hay.
I will never buy this product again.
If you have short short hair (shorter then shoulder length) or if you are putting this in your hair and then putting your hair up then you MAY be fine, but otherwise I wouldn't suggest this product at all unless you enjoy the feeling of dry hair to the extent where it feels dead.

I love this product! I subscribed here just to let people know how great it really is! My hair is dark and most dry shampoos don't work for me. But this one does the job really well. There's no residue and I can really notice a difference in my hair after applying it. The price is great as well, very affordable.

I was very excited because this is my first dry shampoo. The first time I used this I had to use so much product to even notice a difference. The smell isnt too bad, a little strong at first. Then after a few minutes I noticed my hair felt so dirty and unmanagable. Never will buy this again.

PROS:
- smells so good!
- clear spray; no residue
- cute packaging
CONS:
- doesn't work!!!! I have super straight asian black hair and it gets a tad oily at the roots the day after I wash. I sprayed some of this onto my roots and rubbed it in and... NOTHING. In fact, my hair looked even more greasy 5 minutes later.
I've only used it once so far, and I will eventually try it out again, but I'm not really looking forward to it. Will update after I use it again.
UPDATE:
Used it again this morning. My hair looked a little bit greasy, so I decided to give this another shot. I sprayed it very sparingly & from a good distance into the roots of my hair, and waited 2 minutes before rubbing it in. My hair even more disgusting than it did before. It was a nightmare.
My can doesn't seem to be defective like others have been reporting, but I am beginning to think that I may have gotten a bad batch, because the product comes out clear. Other people have been reporting white residue. Either way, I'm so over this product and very disappointed in Dove, a brand that I really trust and love.
I will not be repurchasing this dry shampoo.

My hair gets very oily between washes. I have tried the Tresemme and Suave dry shampoo, and neither work as well as this one. The others left residue that made my hair unmanageable, and did not absorb enough oil. I love the dove dry shampoo! It smells great and absorbs all the oil. Makes my hair smell and look awesome.

I've tried two different dry shampoos prior to this one. Tresemme one was horrible so I won't compare it with that one. So this is be a mini comparison between my favourite one Batiste vs. the Dove one. I had just finished up my 4th bottle of Batiste and my local grocery store didn't have anymore in stock and I was desperate for a bottle of dry shampoo and saw the Dove one on sale for $3.50 and decided to give it a try.
I'm really impressed with it for the price, it definitely performs the same as Batiste and I will definitely re-perchase this after I'm done the bottle.
Pros:
- costs less than Batiste but performs the same
- you get more product than Batiste
Cons:
- the smell can be very overwhelming but if you like strong fresh floral scent this is your thing. (the smell does wear off as the day goes on)
- the nozzle is OKAY, either not enough product sprays out or too much, so be gentle and don't get frustrated cause no body wants grey hair.
A trick with dry shampoos is to spray it on before your hair gets super oily. I usually wash my hair every 3 days, and I spray it on the 2nd night before going to sleep so the product soaks up the oil during the night and in the morning it's as good as the first day hair. And if I missed a spot I lightly spray it bit more there and brush through it.
Hair: Black, straight/wavy, oily scalp.

Used this for a while now
actually bought it three times, but cheap every time on sale for 4 bucks.
If I paid 7 for it, I'd say no way.
It's not bad, but it definitely leaves my already dark blonde hair looking darker and almost hints of grey! Compared to my former fave drugstore brand GOSH, this is not as good. Plus I find Dove's general scents overwhelming. I prefer scent free. That's why the more pricey one by that more natural line with the oat extract (can't remember the name) is worth the money, but it runs out SO fast. Dove does last a while.
Anyone ever tried just regular cornstarch lightly applied to a good boar bristle brush?
I had to do that in Japan because i didn't travel with all my big aerosol containers obviously - husband at time encouraged me to pack VERY light.... - anyway, I used it and ported in around in a tiny little jar, dispensed some in my palm, tapped my brush in there, and that was it.

DESCRIPTION OF ME: Caucasian PPP (Lancome Color ID I-10 C, Teinte Idole Ivoire 2 C) with normal skin. Medium-blonde, chemically treated hair that I try to only traditionally wash/shampoo 2-3 times per week.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: A dry shampoo with a nice, clean smell.
PACKAGE: Like many other dry shampoos, this comes in a standard aerosol spray canister with a plastic lid (5 oz). As long as this is stored where the lid is not likely to be knocked off, it’s pretty travel-worthy.
CONSISTENCY/TEXTURE: One of the more natural feeling dry shampoos I’ve tried; leaves my hair feeling clean and not gunky.
APPLICATION: MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT DRY SHAMPOO: use SPARINGLY!! That point cannot be stressed enough! I spray just a spritz here and there throughout my hair at the crown and scalp and work it through the rest till I feel it’s been evenly distributed. This cuts down on the “powdered” look that can result when you’ve sprayed too much in one spot. I have a very subtle ombre look going right now, so my roots are darker than I’ve ever had. Still, using just a tiny amount on my hair makes my greasiness disappear without looking like I dumped baby powder on my head.
SMELL: My favorite thing about this dry shampoo is the smell. It just smells like my hair has been washed with Dove shampoo. All day long when I’ve used this in the morning, I catch whiffs of it in the air, and it’s always clean and fresh. Most other dry shampoos have a funky, overly perfume-y smell that seems to be covering the greasy funk of dirty hair, but this is not one of them!
STAYING POWER: Great! I use this in the morning on Day 2 hair (sometimes even on Days 3 and 4, depending on my activity levels that week) and my hair stays clean looking/smelling without becoming greasy. I love how much longer I can go between traditional shampoos with this product.
NATURAL?: Yes, if applied correctly.
COLOR: Again, if you use this with a LIGHT hand, it shouldn’t be obvious at all. If you have very dark hair, it may not be ideal and you may have to play around with it a bit to see if it’ll work for you.
SUNSCREEN: None.
IRRITATION/BREAKOUTS: None.
OVERALL: Ever since discovering dry shampoos two years ago, I’ve tried so many different brands. Of all the kinds I’ve gone through, Dove is by far the best one. For $5 at a local drug store or grocery, it can’t be beat. I’m giving it 5 lippies for what it can do, even though you may experience some powdery-ness when applying it. Unfortunately, the nature of dry shampoos is that most of them either show up on your hair or they have a weird texture/smell/or all of the above. Considering the limitations of dry shampoo in general, this one stands out from the rest!
INGREDIENTS: Isobutane, Propane, SD Alcohol 40-B (Alcohol Denat.), Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Butane, Fragrance (Parfum), Isopropyl Myristate, Silica, Cyclopentasiloxane.
Thanks to Seclusae2 for the layout!

The thing about this dry shampoo is that you must use is sparingly. Excess use of this product on your hair can make it look extremely oily and leave a white film on your hair. When i use this dry shampoo, I just spray my roots once and work it into my hair with fingers and it works great! Also it smells awesome!

I bought two cans. The first was one of the "disappearing product" cans. I used it once and then it was gone. I have not tried the second can yet and hope it is not also defective. The product is fairly good although it does leave a very heavy floral scent.

I'm on my second can and it's been my favorite dry shampoo so far. I've only used two other types of dry shampoos in the past (suave and tresseme). Tresseme sucked and the suave had a very strong grapefruit scent that I wasn't too fond of. I don't mind the scent of this one. I usually spray this on second day hair and then put my hair into a but. It doesn't exactly make your hair feel clean, but it sure does make it look clean. I like it so far and i didn't have a problem with the can leaking on either two cans. They've lasted me a good month of more.

I have purchased two cans of Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo. The first time I tried the product, the can produced only one use. Thinking I must have accidentally picked up a tester, I purchased the product again... this time to get only two uses. Having used it on just my bangs and the side of my head, I really didn't use much at all. While the product smells nice and works fairly well, given that a can provides only 1-2 uses, this is an absolute waste of money compared to other products on the market. (BTW, I did connect with Dove about this matter. While they kindly sent me free product - mousse and hairspray - they did not answer my questions about the dry shampoo. I'm disappointed with Dove.)

Contrary to all the bad reviews I actually like this product a lot. I have tried a lot of dry shampoos and this one smells the nicest and also leaves my hair feeling bouncy and looking clean. I knocked a point off because the white residue can be a bit overwhelming but I have yet to massage this into my scalp (due to hair loss I prefer to leave my scalp alone and just brush the product through). I have had no problems with air escaping from the can, so hopefully Dove have fixed this problem. My hair is very fine, thinning, and also coloured and this does leave my hair looking full of body. I would definitely buy this again (and next time I am massaging it into my scalp!)
