I feel like maybe it's too soon to write a review, but I can always update this later. I've been using this for 2 weeks, and WOW! note: I use this in combination with the acnedote astringent. I feel like you need both of them to get good results.

I have mild rosacea (the type that causes acne and rough skin, but I don't have an issue with telegaleria -- red skin -- very much). I've been using Azelex for years. it worked well to keep the bumps and roughness at bay, but was super expensive, even with health insurance. so on a whim, I started to google salicylic acid to see if it could also be used to treat these symptoms. it turns out, a few dermatologists do think it's gentle enough, and has some anti-inflammatory properties as well (it's related to aspirin).

I understand that when you switch to a new face product, sometimes you need to give it time to work well, and often gets worse before it gets better. the first few days, this cleanser made my skin look a too dry and irritated. so then I decided to add the astringent into the routine, because it contains some soothing and moisturizing ingredients (and because some claim it balances the PH). the two together seem to be the ticket for me. after I use the cleanser, I splash on the toner with my fingertips (no cotton ball) and my skin almost instantly calms. after a few days my skin seemed to normalize, and now it looks just as good as it did when I was using Azelex, if not better.

note: I tend to use the cleanser + toner only at night. in the morning, I splash water on my face and then use the toner alone.

so this was kind of an unorthodox review, but my point is that I think I can finally take myself off of my expensive prescription medicine! if my skin changes for the better or worse, I'll be sure to update this review.

I have dry non-acne prone skin. I bought this cleanser for its exfoliating properties (Salicylic acid). It's drying. It's quite liquidy, so it results in wasted product. It's only lasted me 2-3 months, which is rarely the case for me. I would not repurchase.

I LOVE THIS CLEANSER!

I'm into the natural product lines - the less sixteen letter words on the ingredient list, the better. I'm also into not spending an arm and a leg on my daily face washing routine. This cleanser is available at most Target/CVS/RiteAid stores in my area for around $8 to $10 (BTW, CVS occasionally has AMAZING sales on Alba Botanica products - 50% off or buy one, get one free. Keep your eyes peeled).

This is the best, most effective, and most all-encompassing face wash I've ever found. It lathers easily (though I agree with an earlier reviewer, it is very liquidy and if you're not careful, you'll end up with way more in your hand then you need). It takes off makeup *instantaneously* and *effortlessly* including mascara, both waterproof and regular. AND it contains 2% salicylic acid, so my occasionally light acne-prone skin gets a boost of treatment. I honestly can't say for sure if it leaves skin feeling "tight" because I always use a moisturizer directly after I wash my face...however there's been one or two times I've skipped this and I don't seem to recall noticing any horrifying tightness.

I would recommend this cleanser to anyone who's looking for a product with:
-natural ingredients & doesn't test on animals
-salicylic acid to treat and prevent light acne
-easy (EASY!!!) makeup removal
-a price tag that won't leave you feeling used and abused

Enjoy! :)

I use this cleanser when my skin is on the more oily side. I love that its natural and doesn't test on animals. It also lathers and makes my skin feel clean but not tight after using. The scent is nice. The only con to this product is that it is very liquidy and comes out very fast.

It's been about a week I've been using this product and I'm very happy so far it leaves my skin feeling very soft and my skin feels very clean. I have noticed that the pores around my nose are a lot less visible and I can tell that it defiantly removes dirt and oil this works like a dream <3 it's just a bit watery so a lot tends to come out but other than that it's AMAZING!!! (:

I have tried EVERYTHING for my sensitive, oily, aging, acne. I currently use and ove a combo of Philosophy and Collective Well-being products but CW has to be ordered so when I ran out, I was excited to see this new natural acne line from Alba. The consistency is VERY watery and the smell is pleasantly medicinal/antiseptic. It cleanses the skin pretty good and left my skin soft and not too tight/dry. BUT it is NOT for removing eye makeup; as a matter of fact you should AVOID the eye area completely! This stuff really irritated my eyes; specifically severe itching at the base of my lashes. Even when i took great care to avoid my eyes they burned/itched, but honestly, how can you do totally avoid your eyes when you are washing your face??? So I will use the remainder as a body acne wash . . it works great for that . . thus 2 lippies . . .I'll just continue ordering my Collective Wellbeing..

This is one of the best cleansers I have found for acne prone skin. Even better its natural and dirt cheap. Its more effective than my beloved Effaclar and more cost effective than the burts bees cleanser for acne. Seriously you must try this if you are after something that works. I know with acne cleansers it can be hard to determine if a cleanser can actually make a difference, believe me, with this you can tell and being $8 a bottle if you dont like it you can always use it as body wash. I dont like the bottle it comes in so I emptied into a pump bottle, its very runny and you need much less than you think. It foams a little and washes off easily. This trump anything Mychelle, Vichy, clinique, etc has to offer in terms of acne cleansers. The only way this product can be better is for it to come in a pump bottle but for the price and the quantity you get, I can easily overlook this.

PROS: Natural ingredients. Not tested on animals. We've tried most store brands for acne and even some department store brands. This is the best for my teens. They have sensitive skin, but this doesn't bother them. Now available at my walmart.

CONS: Not the very cheapest, but it's worth it.

ALTERNATES: We also like Neutrogena's Rapid Clear line, but this is the most effective for them. We like to use one of the following for any flakes that crop up: Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer or Clean & Clear Acne Control Moisturizer.
